Thus why its probably never going to happen. Haubergeon/Hauberk is already definately powerful enough, and SE tends to balance based on what things should be, not what they actually are.

I think most monks would be happy if there was just some pants that are worth wearing before af2/shura/byakko's. Up to that point the two absolute best options are Republic Subligar and Rasetsu Hakama... which suck.

How about follow-up quests that you can do once you get your normal AF that 'upgrades' them so that they're no longer stupidly outdated. Make it so that AF actually plays to a job's abilities, instead of giving them stupid stats. Or make them really really good so that jobs actually use their AF.

I'd quite like to see more pieces of equipment that boost the effects of abilities, or are very situational. Thanks to windower I don't mind if I have to switch out 16 pieces of equipment to do one thing.

And give PLD something better than AF for their bodypiece.

I'm dead fucking seirous when I say this, MNK should really wear Crow hose in party 24/7, for a monk lvl60-70 these stats are actually exactly what they need. also Crow hat using af head for macro only is a good choice.

Just responding directly to OP, I'm slowly but surely almost done buying all the gear I need/want for my jobs, so an economy change for better or for worse on Apr. 18 wouldnt effect me too bad if at all. Not to mention alot of my gear is (Rare/)Ex anyway.
