What's the difference between "enhanced", "+1

I'm talking about things like Brutal Earring, WAR AF1 boots, THF AF2 boots and WAR AF2 legs. wtf is the actual difference between "Double Attack +1" and "Enhances Double Attack Effect"? It came to my attention the other day after someone told me he wanted a Brutal Earring because it's the best ear piece for NIN to use for TP and WS. The TP part was obvious to me, but I never thought of it for WS. Then I saw yesterday a THF equipping AF2 boots when he did his WS(might have been mainly for the CHR+5.. probably was) so it got me thinking. Does anyone know the actual differences(how powerful the effect is in one compared to the others) in these items? Yes I know there's a difference between certain items, not just the descriptions sometimes, such as Sarashi being worthless compared to Suppanomimi.

The answer to your question is in your last sentence:

In almost every case, it means something different. So just figure out what pieces of equipment you're interested, figure out what the item effect is, remember it, and fuck everything else.

Well, I want to know if anyone know exact differences. For example, I've read that Brutal Earring is 5% increase in Double Attack, and it also gives the ability to those that don't have the job trait, which makes it a simply awesome earring for all melee jobs. What does this mean? Brutal earring and/or THF AF2 boots giving you an extra hit in your WS makes it far, far, better than any other earring available, right?

Yes, yes and yes. End game, increasing your attack rate is the best thing you can do to up your parser. Brutal Earring is also the best melee earring in ALL instances for all melee jobs, except possibly Asuran Fists, where double attack may or not may be able to proc. (There's a debate on if one hit misses, if there's a chance for it to double attack.)

And yes I melee in THF AF2 feet as my THF, but I use Hecatomb Leggings +1 for WS, I dont like to rely on the random chance of Triple Attack for my WS.

As far as the THF AF2 feet, my guess is he was using dancing edge which has a CHR modifier. The CHR mod plus the chance to add triple attack probably makes it outshine Hct Leggings.

well the "Dusk til Dawn" effect on Koga Kyahan +1 lets you run faster until 08:00 on the game clock.

I own Myochin Kabuto+1 and in no way, does it enhance meditate more then the original AF helm. Still the same when combined with Saotome gloves and AF+1 helm, as it was with AF and Saotome.

Assassin's Poulaines: Triple Attack +1
Homam Corazza: Enhances the effect of "Triple Attack"

The first one increases your Triple Attack rate by 1%, the second one inreases your Triple Attack rate by 2.5%

like divisor theory said, the +1 = +1 percent, where enhance will either be more than 1% or be something like fast cast which is hard to put into a percentage.

Fast Cast isn't hard to quantify if you look at the reduction in recast time for spells that have a hefty recast. Warlock's Chapeau and Duelist's Tabard are 5% Fast Cast. (They have about a 2.5% recast reduction.) People have clocked Loquacious Earring is somewhere between 2-3% Fast Cast. Supposedly Rostrum Pumps are the same.

Brutal Earring > Loquacious Earring
