No the real point of Pixie Earring is you make everyone in the KB Alliance wear it so you might actually have a shot at a Defending Ring.

Should be easy enough to test a hidden effect.... Have your friend wear +3 dex in other gear and parse results... then take off the gear, put on pixie earring, parse again. Test on guardian crawler to maintain consitancy, as it is always lvl 45 with identical stats. Perhaps it'd be a good idea to do it all on the same day as well, just incase.

I also don't think it has any extra citical rate effects and would be hard to ever want to wear it anyways because there are so many awesome endgame earrings. After you first put on Brutal Earring and see it in action you basically never want to take it off. And then Ethereal earring or suppanomimi or at least even just diabolos earring etc depending on job or what you have.
I heard that rumor about the 'hidden' effect too but yeah i doubt anybody did serious tests, it's probably more like "it's kinda weak but it drops from a cool mob so it MUST have some hidden effect".
Parsing critical rates is also kinda hard because they are very random, i usually get as little as 13% and as high as 50% critical rates while farming EP mobs as mnk 75, with the same gear, just from randomness.
