I hear asura is worse than remora, is this true? I know some douchebags migrated from there to here.

Remora's most dominant parent is definatley Asura. Most of the people who went there came from asura. As to which is worse, it's all personal preference. On one server , you get a 15 page thread of someone being flamed for using mrargus to get to his ENM faster, while on another server, people use mrargus to keep exp chains unlimited and nobody really cares.

I hear remora is very cut-throat, like people KS'ing and MPK'ing eachother, @ DA, no matter who claims fafnir, everyone in the room stands on the feet, etc. Now that's what I call a fun server

When they made this announcement on the website I was sitting in Safehold, and someone (Izod, who I'm sure you know Wafik), started running around shouting "OMG I CAN FINALLY LEAVE THIS SHIT HOLE". When I informed him it was for Xbox 360 beta players onry, he stopped talking and all I heard was a "AHAHAHAHAH OWNED" from a nearby player.

in EQ they charge you 50 bucks per character to move, they make shit tons of money that way, think of what they could charge in FFXI to move a character then content IDs, SE could make tons of money and people would pay it just to go to a decent server

people in eq recruit characters from other servers for thier guilds, pretty hardcore if you ask me

There's a few small threads of hope that this may not be for just X360 users.

1.) you can't have more than one content ID on hydra, meaning no mules. if this is the case, why do they speak very noticably of moving more than one character?

2.) you can see they say you can move to any of the 32 worlds, but EXCLUDING hydra. if this is only occuring on hydra, why would they say excluding it? it should be pretty obvious, and SE isn't exactly one to point out the obvious in press releases.

It's more or less true, though at the end of my playing a few months ago, it was pretty much everyone who was capable went to Apathy leaving 90% of HNMLS useless. Basically Apathy and maybe one or two other LS actually accomplish anything on Remora anymore and the rest MPK each other and gil sellers for sky pop items, serket, roc etc. Maybe this has changed, but I seriously doubt it.

Important news for Xbox 360 users participating in the FINAL FANTASY XI Beta Test(03/24/2006)Currently there are thousands of players taking part in the Xbox 360 FINAL FANTASY XI Beta Test all over the world, and after careful consideration by the development team, it has been decided that character data (including character race, face type, job levels, skills, gil, items, friend list, etc.) created and used during the test will be readily available for transfer to an already existing World.

To transfer data (emigrate) to a new World, players must take the following steps listed below:

(1) Before the Beta Test concludes on Thursday, April 3

■World Selection

5:00 March 24, 2006 (PST) - 1:00 April 3, 2006 (PDT)

During the time period listed above, players will be able to select a World of emigration. This selection may be altered at any time during the period. However, no changes for any reason will be accepted after the April 3rd deadline. In the event that a player does not select a World for her character(s), the data will be moved to a random World.

We have confirmed that the schedule listed prior contained a wrong information. The schedule has been changed to reflect the correct information. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

■Rules for Emigration

During the World Selection period, a “World Shifter” will appear in each of the four locations listed below.
