    The biggest problem with bst is that there is LARGE amount of shitty and semi-retarded new bsts at 75. Back when there were only 5-6 NA bsts on my server life was great. Now when I go to the tree and fight goobbue two or three beasts show up and start exping on top of me.

    THERE IS ONLY ROOM FOR ONE 75 BST/NIN on the korrigan/goobbue island. This includes the four on the island by the waterfall. A good bst/nin can clear all those out before repop and make around 3.5k - 4k an hour w/o ring. If another bst shows up it's less than 2k an hour since you've killed almost any ability to chain >.>

    Still the same beasts can't seem to use /sea boyahda, or check my seacom when I exp there... Then other beasts accuse me of mpk because they get antiphase on them. NO FUCKING SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE ARE FIGHTING DUMB ASS. Hell if you can't deal with being silenced 30% of the time go fight some crabs >.>;

    I've solo'ed about 40 merits so far as bst and I greatly enjoy it. However, it isn't fun when three or four beasts start invading your camp after you have been there a long time. Den of Rancor is nice with pugs, but exp PT's camp over you there a lot, no matter how long you have been there before, and bibiki bay is a running joke if you think a bst can exp there and make beyond a chain 2 with 8-10 parties killing every gob, dhamel, and rabbit there.

    I miss my old spider and bloodball camps, It was good gil and shitty beasts wouldn't go there. I've been trying newton and Pso'Xja but there aren't enough Purgatory bats, and the party moblins aren't exactly beast friendly. I love fighting diremites in Pso'Xja, but the purgatory bats like to spawn DC too much. I think maybe I can try:

    EM/DC(liz) -> bat
    EM/DC(liz) -> Dire
    EM/DC(liz) -> Dire
    EM/DC(liz) -> EM/T (liz)

    Drop

    EM/DC(liz) -> bat(if not DC)
    EM/DC(liz) -> bat(if not DC)
    EM/DC(liz) -> EM/T (liz)

    But then it's up the elevator again and sneak/invis back to the first group...

    The old way Cape Terrigan was awesome BST & SMN party. You all had EM pets and could release them and whoever's was healthiest went out to pull. Lizards didn't aggro and just started walking home. By the time the next mob was back all pets were healthy and ready to go. Exp was awesome for what Bst is used to.

    Now you can't do that, the xp sucks, bst pt's are basically ruined except for mid/high 60's in Upper Boyhada Tree.

    Unless they make pets go docile till their HP is 100% as they walk back to their starting point. Don't touch this, and yes, good point, Familiar is a shitty 2hr.

    most of that is the author of the article ad-libbing. I know, for a fact, that the devs did not ever describe BST leveling in such a fashion.

    That would be too much of an abuse though. A level 50 beast/nin with a little help could go run up and snag a level 76-78 mob then go get chain 20 solo for max exp each kill.

    It would be nice if the 2 hour would remove the exp penalty only for mobs up to or less than the beastmaster's level.

    removing XP penalty would just mean you don't get the 25% reduction.

    that has nothing to do with calculating the XP you get based on the highest leveled person in your PT (in this case the pet).

    Two can work just fine, one goes one way, the other bst goes the other way around the islands. However the trend I notice is people leveling their NPC's that are more of a problem than other bsts during the time I leveled there. Now i'm a hypocrit since i got my NPC (though I've killed her 3 times on the 3 calls.)

    Bst/nin+Korringan does rock on Elder Goobues. Hopefully the new expansion will get us more room, or less bsts because they'll level 1/3 the new jobs and leave boyhada to moi.

    If I go all out in the tree I can clear the waterfall Island, the korrigan island, and most of the ramp from entrance island. I EXP with -18 enmity, and rampage at 20% on DC and EM, 18% on T (Usual rampage is 800-1100 for closing). You really can't sustain two good bst/nin's without spam charming over korrigans and running out of goobbue, or really anything besides a bst/whm that does crabs.

    Since the update you can't leave korrigan paths around the place so doing the island furthest away from the korrigans isn't really worth it. Maybe you could use pet food, but 30k every 24 kills kinda sucks. An EM can last through 2x goobbuee so maybe you could kill one group on the far away island and kite one back to the korrigan island, but that's a big risk on miss charm, and there is a good chance you will won't chain.

    The tree used to support 3-4 75 bsts. 1 on spiders, 1-2 on korrigan island, 1 on the island at the bottom of the waterfall. With the changes the spider camp is gone, and unless you want to screw up another bsts exp, the korrigan island really supports 1 bst. Even before that the level and mob placement changes in Ulg range and Bibiki bay killes a lot of great exp spots.

    Now every time I /sea all bst 73-75 around 20 bsts show up instead of the 4-5 I saw a year ago. There really are not enough exp spots for this many beasts. It wouldn't be so bad though if many of these beasts would act mature and not start exping in the middle of another persons spot, or claim mpk over shit that just happens. Instead you get a lot of cocky teenagers that think they are God's gift to BST.

    I hope I can get Pso'Xja working better though, Diremites are awesome to fight with lizards. I'm also going to checkout some more level capped zones and see if I can merit there.

    Where do you get -18Enmity? I melee with -2(JSE pants) and sometimes -3 (With gaudy harness + rune bow). Otherwise its basically what a war/nin would wear.

    Pso'Xja everything seemed to be T and with some elements, didn't see a viable spot worth exping at. I was wondering if RiverneA01 or if anything in Ph.Aquaducts would be good for meriting. Let me(us) know if anything is good and i'll buy some decent capped gear.

    I really hope they give us some options with ToUA, unlike Sea, which is absolutely worthless for Bsts.

    Attack / Healling gear I use as bst/nin:

    Main: Maneater / Rune
    Sub: Temperance Axe or Juggernaut / Rune
    Head: Flawless Ribbon / Adaman Celleta / Panther Mask
    Body: Raven Jupon / Hauberk / Gaudy Harness / Hecatomb Harness
    Neck: Peacock Charm / Soil Gorget
    Hands: Dusk Gloves / Hecatomb Mittens
    Legs: Beast Trousers / Dusk
    Feet: Raven / Adaman / Hecatomb
    Rings: Wood / Rajas
    Earrings: Assault / Brutal
    Waist: lifebelt
    Back: Forager

    From the two raven items I get -14 enmity and 14 eva, from merits I get -4. I use my hauberk to increase hate and sometimes use it for most of the fight if it's EM -> (+1 T or below). I would like to get the monster belt to get up to I think -21 enmity. I have also toyed with the idea of dropping a ring and using hauberk with the jse enchanted ring.

    Negative enmity helps a ton, I just ride the hate line where I can occasionaly get a shadow loss without seeing the goobue turn. I just count rounds and let the korrigan take the tp moves. Sometimes though for weak DC on hard T ( think +2 or 3) I just have to trade off so the korrigan lives.

    Goobbue have 4500-4700 hp, I usually do about 200-300 more melee dmg than the korrigan per fight, about the only way to do that and not tank and get para'ed is to push enmity high. I don't mind dropping attack gear or acc for enmity since I already have full axe merits and use attack food, (mainly miths because I'm cheap :/). On DC targets I just heal with 2x rune + Gaudy.

    I've been exping on that island for close to a year now, so it's kinda down to a science.

    Pso Xja isn't bad, if you hang to the right and fall down that side there are 2 places with 2x lizards.

    /-- other crap
    [lizards]==[bat]==[diremites]

    elevator

    [lizards]==[bats]==[hecteyes]

    Diremites are fun because they intimidate like nothing else on this planet, they also seem to have relatively low hp and def. If you use a lot of negative enmity gear they are a joke and always pop EM to T. They also don't link !

    This place would be awesome if they just made the lizards cap at 75 and replaced all the hecteyes with diremites >.>; Maybe I'm the only person that noticed this, but now when you misscharm and tame a hecteye you don't get nuked by it's spell. I tried to MPK bluenu with this on a BQ run, he hit a hecteye, and it started casting Flood, then I charmed it and watch him get hit for 500 dmg :D

    my -2,3 emnity could be pushed, I just have to pay attention to see if i draw too much hate, especially when you get that Low DC Korring Vs T+ Goobue.

    i parsed about 20 fights though, my damage was more than Korrigan on DC 45%/65%, even on EM and about 65%/45% on T+.

    Diremites also have good Sic moves. Hecteyes are great, IMO, when they don't have PT, (bio3, lv4 or lv3ga spells 4tw).

    Were you including final WS dmg in those calculations? For non ws dmg I'm usually 200-300 over the korrigan. So it's more like

    1800 Korrigan
    2000 Epigram

    900 Rampage

    If I ride higher I start tanking which is fine, but I always like to be able to skip shed hate quickly to skip tp moves.

    Hecteyes are horrible at holding hate though, they have nice sic moves but for hecteye on hecteye your going to loose a lot of hate, and anything against a hecteye has a high chance of getting nuked and para'ed. I don't think you could get any good exp out of them.

    I prefer leaches, lizards and courel above most other pets though, they just hold hate really well, easy charms, and have nice tp moves.

    coeurl are amazingly good pets, I solo'd in LoO for a while in the early 70's, accidently popped narashima and got raped.

    Leeches are my favourite, they're like jellies except reliable to farm. In the new zones, I have a feeling they're making them a bit more BST friendly. Anyone else notice almost every SS they've shown of the new zones with a monster, there's a chamable mob near it?

    The place with the gigas swampy area, showed Pugils, The place with the Trolls, showed Crawlers that breathe fire, and im pretty sure some of the new mobs will be charmable. I cant wait to toy in ToaU as my BST, finally I'll have something new to do.

    I think that included final WS, but I think I read you released +10%. I never release untill about 8% on DC max and 5% on anything else. So my rampages might not be counting for full effect. I just have this morbid fear of Release > WS > White Goobue > Some assfuck stuns it. A morbid morbid fear of that happening. (one of those shitty blms from Crapajii LS did that to me on bombs.)

    Eyes are good when: ex. Add pt for Hakutaku, having 2 pets on 1 mob, the spells go off nice, and they end up bouncing hate between eachother.

    My also dreaded fear is Cactaur pets. I was disappointed in Amigo, and charming them is retarded. Tried soloing Sabotender Mariachi with the near by cactuars only to fail about 1/3 and with 5+ fails in a row. Also Amigo was absolutely worthless against an Avatar Prime. A familiar'd Percival can take out 45-50% of Ifrit feeding whenever Reward is up. Amigo got smoked when I went to try him out.

    For DC/EM it works like this.

    Fight >>
    Use max -enmity gear
    At around 25%
    Macro in hecatomb
    SIC
    Release
    (Goobbue is at around 20%)
    Rampage
    If it's not dead it will be dead next round.

    For toughs I do the same thing. 20% is only around 900-1000 hp so it's pretty easy to WS that down and maybe go through a round or two.

    Now, if I'm being invaded by another beast and dancing with korrigans, I'll wait to 15% so my pet doesn't decide to kill me after release.

    As far as the expansion goes, I just want some new armor that is nothing like bst jse. If SE wants us to melee, give us some melee stats. Give us +15acc +6str +6vit -6 enmity or something like that.

    I'm not really trusting of new mobs in beastman zones. No mobs in beastman zones really stack up to the higher teir mobs. This makes sense in the aspect of "Hi welcome to our village, don't mind the lizards it's normal for them to beat you into submission."

    Flang if charmable might be nice, but something tells me that if they are charmable they will be very hard charms. Well at least they can't screw up as much as sea though, an area filled with fish that you can't charm or even fucking intimidate... They must be moon fish or something >.>
