Small Question.

I never played the first Kindom Hearts, would it totally suck to just to start playing the second one without knowing the firsts story line?

I dont have 2nd yet, but, 1st was a brilliant game, dont skip it. Buy them both, lock #2 in the cupboard while you play #1

For me, Up until the Mulan stage (second stage I think), I was doing just fine, didnt use many items, didnt die or anything.

But once I got to the Big heartless in that stage, I just got stomped for the first time. And then several more times.

Then the boss owned me, but.. Mickey came and I could fight using him and Ressurect Sora and the party and continued on to kill the boss.

I had a wtf moment there, I didn't know that would happen if you die sometimes or why it happens.

First time you die, 100% chance of mickey popping and saving your ass.

Second, 80%, Third is like 60%, and Fourth+ is 50% chance, and no, these do not reset by simply saving and rebooting your ps2. Permanent, per playthrough.

Kingdom Hearts 2 has some huge Kingdom Hearts 1 spoilers in it. Within the first 5 or so hours of play it basically summerizes its predecessor from start to finish, with scenes from the game (including the ending). If you plan on ever playing Kingdom Hearts 1 after playing 2, yes it would totally suck.


By the way, anyone played KH: Chain of Memories?

I did play CoM, I cheated for the last few stages cause I just couldn't be bothered to play it. Just read the scripts on gamefaqs, I did play it however to find out Riku's story which is pretty cool (the only reason worth playing it).

edit: also, how is Sora's VA in this game? I've seen the english intro and it was a bit iffy. HJO sounds so much older...

I don't think the game is a button mashing one. There is A LOT more "you have to dodge, block, and counter-attack" the enemies moves in this game. Some of the very first bosses you fight are not easy but not too hard, offering a very nice challenge.

Also, The dude in the red clothes in the beginning, the one working at the computer, is that the voice of Christopher Lee? The guy who does Count Dooku in Star Wars, Saruman in LOTR, and Fransisco Scaramanga in James Bond? I thought he was dead but they sound alike.

This game fucking rocks.

I like Sora's voice. I think it's the same guy. He sounds a bit older, which makes sense because supposedly a year has passed between the games. I downloaded the Chain of Memories, and might buy it when/if I get a DS. There's enough good games for it that I'm seriously considering it. But I don't think I will play CoM just yet, because I'm still chomping at the bit to go home and play more KHII and I can't play gameboy at work lol.

Yeah It is, I know, it just seemed like in the intro he hadn't like... warmed up yet, I'm hoping it gets better as time goes on (and I'll get used to it) but then after KH1 it's hard to get used to.

Sanctuary sounded so weird at the start, but it got better as the song went on, I wanna hear the full version and the ending version in English now.

heh gamespot said that Square-Enix and Disney worked in the same Tokyo office building and that 2 of the design heads were in the elevator at the same time and originally came up with the idea in an elevator ride. Neat story

That was a done by a huge group of workers I am sure. The genious is truly the one who conceived the ideas, the rest is just filler which is also genious, but is the work of a whole department at SE and Disney
