I was in a WS spam PT with a pimped out THF that capped around 1400 DE and averaged right around 1000, and he was getting hit on average at least as much as the WAR and the MNK in the PT who were putting out very nice numbers as well, meaning he was pulling hate. As stated, he was only doing 20-30 damage per hit, but his TP build was just sickening and I'm pretty sure he has SATA merits (In fact, he's a friend of mine and actually has full THF merits and is almost capped on his RDM as well T.T), so yeah, his spike damage alone was on par with the DoT of the WAR and MNK in the PT. Add in the DD NIN we had and we were litterally getting 10k/hr in the main Deco camp (24k xp in 2.5hrs)

Point: THFs can put out numbers.

In fact, I have respect for EVERY job. You people flaming this job or that job are ignorant, go play the fucking job before you pass judgement. The majority of this thread makes me sick. Someone stated that this board is made up of some of the best players on their server. I can believe that a lot of the best players check this forum and get information from it, but most of the people posting are among the most fucking annoying and arrogant assholes. lvled drk to 75 so i can say their worthless lol lvled thf to 37 was actually stronger than i thought lol also pted with enough to kno their one of the best DD 30-59..I replced them 60+ with drk and well if drk sucks and replaces thf i don't see how good they can be.. I did pt with thfs at 69+ but their dmg sucked. Melee need great armor to do good dmg i say thf sucks because you need amazing armor to do great dmg like drks and well doesn't matter what you get for drg you'll suck regardless lol

Well just so you guys know im mosstly talking about end game, cause drk is a good dd for a normal pt set up and so is pretty much every job(except drg) But on HNMs well drk get stun and burst dmg, thf get SATA and TH thats about it. and as for pld i didn't need to unlock the job cuz im teh 1337 nin tank >.> But i was thinking about it.. i would look so pimp in pld af and hume rse 2 feet 8)


PS: Before all you plds get your panties in a bunch i like pld if not love the job for being able to keep hate off me with good enough skills.

Well, since this thread has pretty much been 18 pages of penguinguy/drk bashing, I won't feel bad about this...

Amarok what kind of rampages were you averaging in those deco parties as drk/nin? Not including souleater, just baseline. It sounds like I have more or less the same setup that you do, only I didn't merit axe and sword (6/6 scythe/gs instead). Just recently parsed myself in a deco party, I averaged about 640 over 200 or so kills. This is with maneater/ridill combo, bard sang minuet/march and rdm was only sporadically casting dia. I was using soil gorget too. With consistent dia and double minuet it might have been a little higher, but it sounded like yours might have been significantly higher than that.

I guess it doesn't really matter in a deco party because it's ridiculously easy to clear the whole main room in 15 minutes or so. But it's fun to see our class put up pretty respectable damage in a spam party :D I actually killed one of the wars and the nin in that party, but it's not really a fair comparison since my gear was a lot better. I think a better test would be trying range as drk/nin and parse against some wars, but I always get talked in to going rdm for that so I've never really experimented with it.

i dunno what some of you guys are talking about, thief fucking rocks. I lvl'd up to 75 with pretty shitty gears, no acc stuff just dex, and my sata DE/SB was always pretty close to the rng's, or sam's ws damage... yea normal hits suck but w/e... you guys kindof forgetting thf is also for hate control?.. and don't say other jobs can do itjust the same b/c they can't, they can sata ws for more yes, but they cant land no 300+ sata on tank at start of fight, add how fast they can get tp compared to other jobs(drk lol)

Justice sword is actually pretty sweet when paired with joyese. and pld can help with healing.

if there were more abraxa, (and none of those fucking rams) thf/nin parties would actually be on par with sky. I have a drglol friend who uses love halbred in Luface with homam gear for tp, and heca for WS. they just need more birds there, and the ability to roam(see ram comment)

if a DRK stuns ws occasionally, they are actually awsome to have for merits. but no they are not going to outdamage with scythe. (until the patch when I'm hoping they give all 2hand jobs a lvl60 trait of like 2hand weapon specialist, +70 attk with 2 handed weapons, or +10%haste on of the two)

IMO the only job I don't like to EXP with is BLM (lol)

I use Dusk and Hecatomb (which I must say considering I only have NIN and PLD at 75 uncursing them was the biggest waste of gil ever)
