Regardless, you sound all emo, and that stereotype has plenty of fuel from drk newbies, no need for a veteran to add to it.

Give it a fucking rest, I hate how my job gets shit upon. I dont wear my hair like that, listen to shitty music, or act depressed about everything. Don't be such fucking WAR and BLM whores.

Ok Maxx I have a DRK 75, and even I agree with what everyone is saying here...

I think the only thing they could do to boost the DRK job so that it is appealing to invite into a pt would be:

Extend absorbs to include the entire PT

Some kind of -delay bonus for 2handed weapons

DRK are destined to be emofags.

    http://www.ffcompendium.com/chara/4a...rkknight-f.gif http://www.ffcompendium.com/chara/4-cecil-s.jpg

However, Cecil got a clue halfway through the game, and changed jobs to PLD, he quit DRK and put all his stuff on AH and could buy his PLD AF, and he was still stronger, lol.

    http://www.ffshrine.org/ffx2/darkknight.jpg

Now their emoslashwrists job moves :

    Drain - Absorbs HP.
Demi - Reduces enemy HP by 25%.
Doom - Enemy is inflicted with Doom and is killed when the counter reaches 0.
Death - Instantly kills one enemy.
Black Sky - Enemies take random damage.
Charon - Kills an enemy, but also sacrifices yourself.

And their battle quotes while using DRK moves are like standard emo macros "My wounds on this blade are now a part of your pain" or "No Paine(pun) no game!" or other wrist-cuttingly good things.

However I can understand why they are emodrk's. I mean, look at the legs/boots of those pants. They cant sit down! Imagine sitting down, and getting stuck onto the chair because you have ass-spikes collecting anything you walk past. I'd be emoslashwrists too.

I'm not sure why everybody thinks we need -delay. If the damage is increased it will lead to a better damage over time. Part of the flavor of DRK is slow but powerful. Increased damage will work fine for increased damage over time.

Hey, PLDs are goin emo too. They act like their only shred of hope is the possible addition of Auto-Refresh.

even if they make us hit harder we still lose cause other jobs hit faster than us. Do the experiment yourself, parse a few xp/merit sessions with a thf, nin, random DD and you can see for yourself that in the end sure we have good dmg it is all WS based and we get passed by the DoT DD.

I mean you can have a scythe with 150dmg on it but with like a 600+ delay it is still crap.

...no real weapon is 600+ delay...

And no, I get good DoT numbers already as DRK/WAR. THF has the lowest delay and I've never seen them being held as the kings of DD (far from it, they are probably the 3rd most reviled EXP job.) Currently its NIN, WAR, and MNK. NIN because they get +9% Crit Hit rate from katanas with an absurd attack rate after DW4 and even a shitton of haste gear. WAR because it gets awesome axes. MNK because the DMG/Delay ratio of a level 75 MNK is rediculous (like 300 delay for 2x60 DMG.) DRK has nothing like that, but when geared and played well can still hold its own. If the increase in damage is enough our DoT will be better and we will hold up to the other jobs quite well.

    lol!

So you're somehow saying that the games not unbalanced when a WAR using two 46ish dmg axes can completely outparse a DRK using a 98 dmg Scythe? 2 handed weapons suffer horribly because the delay on the weapon is massively higher than a single handed weapon, but the added dmg to the weapon is irrelevant because the dmg on a weapon becomes less important as time goes on.

Errr two 46ish damage axes arent JUST 46ish damage axes, as I have said. They are 46ish damage axes WITH massive attack and strength bonuses WITH a natural 15% delay reduction from a skill. A fairer comparison would be a war/drk with a single axe. There is an imbalance, as I have said, but its not in the damage formulas, its in the retarded weapons DRKs get. Though we can use Woodville/Jugg as well, we lose out on the massive attack bonus from berserk and double attack. So, if they increase the damage on the scythes, yes, it will balance out as the Damage/Delay ratio (as in damage done, not on the weapon) starts comparing to dual axes+dual wield+massive weapon attack bonuses.

Seriously, is it that hard for you guys to see how awesome those axes that WAR got are? Part of the reason DRK gets shafted as well was the move to have BLMs able to use scythes. Though in essence its not a bad idea those dumbasses decided to make almost every future scythe BLM equippable to make up for a lack of past ones. And since BLM can equip it, it can't be a good scythe or BLM would have too much melee AND magic damage. So theres the problem in a nutshell.

Feel free to ignore everything I said because nothing I say can be right

A war with 2x tabarzin will still out DD any drk. I still fail to see your point.

The formula for damage is NOT highly dependent upon base weapon damage. IT IS highly dependent upon attack and strength. Most weapon skills are also NOT highly dependent upon weapon base damage.

No, I have easily out DD'd 2x tabarzin WARs, that is completely and utterly false, sorry. There is also the issue with them not having to hold back at all, when DRK most definately do when subbin WAR. As a DRK, when I sub NIN and go sword/sword I do less damage than Scythe. I'm working on Axe skill to see if its somehow any different (currently 201). But I doubt it will be.

I'm pretty sure that any war here if given 2 tabarzin will out damage you.

    Intelligent 75 war's btw don't use jugg.
