I don't think lower ice resist increases proc. I'm pretty sure it stays steady the whole time, too, and it's just a solid % of happening, based off of MND, Resist Traits, etc.

Fucking around with paralyze potions, though, that's 100%, every.single.time... they're fun.

Depends, cap on ichi ninjutsu might be less than the constant boost ni ninjutsu gives.

So after testing it tonight I'm pretty sure it checks when you first cast and that's that.

We tried -35 ice resist, cast para on me, attack and see how often. happened lots.
Then -35 ice resist, cast para, swap to +5 ice resist, no real difference in the procs.
then +5 ice resist, cast para, noticed a lot fewer procs.

Then did it all over again using ice spikes and rdm af2 pants. looked pretty well the same.

Then I used jubaku and tried with and without -ice resist and reasonably similar pattern of results.

I'd say from my experiance Huton is a good spot to sink a merit or two. Blizzards a good spell line, and it'll help the jubaku initially, just doens't seem to do much in terms of procs over time. I've decided on 2 huton, 1 raiton, 2 suiton for the excess merits in ninja specific just to create a well rounded enfeebler as as a nice helper for blms on tough mobs.

My own personal belief in the matter is that the strength of the paralyze effect is set when it is cast; the duration can be changed by elemental resistance. Cast Barblizzard and barparalyze on yourself after an AoE paralyze move, normally it will wear off significantly faster than other people without the bar spells. (Try it with another RDM in the party not using bar spells to control for Magic Defense Bonus.)

Using Baraero after a gravity AoE move also yields a very significant result.
