    Whats really sad is even though I know how to do all this and use windower, I don't make use of the increased capability of windower's macro system whatsoever. That and I spend 50% of my time dicking around in lower jeuno doing positively nothing.

    I don't actually use the same way to make us of the windower's macros, but I don't bind keys either. Instead, I just consolidate everything into a couple .txts. The first one looks something like this:

    Code:
    //BRD

    alias BRDreg input /equip "blahblah";so on;
    alias BRDmelee input /equip "blahblah";so on;
    alias *instrumentname input /equip "instrument";

    //SMN

    alias BPgear input /equip "blahblah";so on;
    alias DMG input /pet "blahblah";so on;

    etc.
    Then once in game, I will go to the macro I want to put it in. Like a SMN macro for BP gear and using Lv70 DMG BPs would look like this

    Code:
    /console BPgear
    /console DMG
    Also, for ballista, I recreated the entire .txt with all of those aliases, and deleted a letter in the name of every piece of equipment in /equip macros. Then, when I exec this file, it re-aliases the the word to a command that doesn't work, so all equip macros wont work anymore though the command/blood pact macros all still work. Just shows that there are a lot of ways to do things with the windower macros, and it is defenitely one of my favorite functions of the current windower.

    I figured it out fyi, it wasnt slashes.

    I saved it as a unicode for JP text, unaware Windower doesnt read it.

    I started using these last month, they're amazing. Compressing a 19 line Rampage macro spread across four slots into one line in one slot is pretty damn helpful. I feel there's even more depth than what I know about them though so I've been meaning to dig around the windower forums to discover more.

    Yeah I have no doubt that there's more to it. Im pretty sure you can even make a looping macro, or some other stuff. For some reason to me, the windower macros are more stable than FFXI's macros. Anyone who swaps 2 rings knows what im talking about, you cant have them right after eachother /equip R.ring /equip L.ring , or it has the potential to not swap ring if they are of same name (like sniper ring x2).

    I don't use them, don't really like them (kinda unfair to PS2 ppl) but it's not like POS or MrArgus...

    Edit: What SE *should* do is watch what enhancements windower adds that people like and use, and determine which ones would be real improvements that they could add to the "official" game package. Stuff like drawdistance, alt-tab, textfile macros, etc. are all things that they could add to the game to make it better.

    I had no idea you could use Windower to make macros... I only used it for windower, and screenshots. This looks like it will be very helpful^^

    I use so many windower macros, if they ever totally disable windower Id have to quit the game I think ><

    Insert - Cycles job sets
    Delete - Cycles sets within jobs (emnity, full damage, elemental)

    Alt-z x c - Gear sets dependant on current job, and current set within job. (Fpr example, on blm it is Nuke, Enfeeble, Dark, but WITHIN blm, alt-z will either change to elemental nuke gear, damage nuke gear, or emnity nuke gear depending on the sub set. On bst, its Charm, fight, emnity, etc)

    Alt-d - HP>MP convert for BRD and BLM latents
    Alt-a s - Obi/Gorget Macros (with ctrl-f7 cycling day on a, and ctrl-f8 cycling weather on s)

    Alt-f - Static Earring
    Alt-v - Ugg Pendant

    alt-/ - Recast timers (depending on job, utsu ichi ni, stoneskin blink flash.. etc)
    alt-. - Utsu Ichi
    alt-, - Utsu Ni

    CTRL-f1 f2 f3 f4 - Stoneskin Blink Phalanx Aquaveil, with stoneskin swapping in mind gear depending on the current job set
    ALT-f1 f2 f3 f4 - Cure3 Cure2 Curaga2 Apollo Staff

    ALT-f5-f12 - All status cures
    CTRL-f5-12 - Various (Sneak, Invis, Mazurka on bard, Ballista specific, etc.)

    Alt- - (Alt-dash) is always /map, and Ctrl-dash is always /target <bt>

    So basically, I have all my gear macros, all my standard spells that I use on every job, and random other things that I use on every job, macroed on buttons that do not take up space on my valuable Macro sets, and they are tailored to suit the job that I am currently playing. For all the standard FFXI macros assigned to the buttons i use, i just use ctrl-button instead (by default for eg you can press either ctrl-a or alt-a to /attack, but the windower macro assigned to alt-a over-rides that. So for me, only ctrl-a /attacks.

    Is it unfair to PS2 players? Probably. Do I give a shit? Not even a little bit. This type of playability should be implemented as standard, and 10 macro slots does not even go close to covering the number of jobs that people play these days.

    It's nice. I really love it. >o>

    I'm just having problems with getting TA to go off. =(

    input /equip ring1 "Sun Ring";
    input /equip ring2 "Sun Ring";
    input /equip waist "Warwolf Belt";
    input /equip neck "Spike Necklace";
    input /equip legs "Royal Knight's breeches";
    input /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>;
    input /ja "Trick Attack" <me>;
    input /ws "Spinning Slash" <t>;
    input /wait 2;
    input /equip ring1 "Woodsman Ring";
    input /equip ring2 "Venerer Ring";
    input /equip legs "Thick breeches";
    input /equip waist "Life Belt";
    input /equip neck "Royal Guard's collar";
    SA will go off, but not TA. ;.;

    Edit: The whole thing is fubar. -_-;

    It will swap to STR, use SA and then stop. Wont go back to ACC gear.

    I'm not sure if it applies to windower macros, but normally in game you can't put 2 JAs (or the JA + WS) together without a wait in between. Try that perhaps.

    Windower processes ALL commands at the same time until it sees a "wait x." "input /wait x" will be processed at the same time as everything else when you run the script; it's having no effect on the stuff after it.

    That's why it's probably better to just do equip changes with the /console exec thing and do /wait and /ja and /ma within the actual macro bar provided by FFXI.

    BTW, Lordwafik, I still have trouble doing same ring (Earring, rather) swaps with text files. Do you do something differently?

    The problem is compounded with windower macros, because they respond ALOT faster than in game macros. Better to switch all your gear in a windower macro, and sa/ta with in game macros

    Any command that'll use multiples of the same object (like, 2x Sniper ring, 2x Melody earring), need to be distanced far apart for the game to think, otherwise it's ignored.

    Example is my nubcake thf's TP gear macro :

    Code:
    input /equip L.ring "Sniper's Ring"
    input /equip Body "Rapparee Harness"
    input /equip Waist "Life Belt"
    input /equip Legs "Bravo's Subligar"
    input /equip R.ring "Sniper's Ring"
    input /echo ---TP Armor---
    Notice how far apart the rings are.

    I had these sorts of problems. Firstly, never use ingame waits using windower macros, just use "wait 2;" instead of "input /wait 2". Secondly, <me> doesn't work, you need to actually type your name in (not sure if quotation marks are required).
