Regardless it's true. Thats not a "real" fight, it's two guys who really don't know how to fight, but probably had a little bit of a boxing background. Hardly anything close to a real fight, but a fair one at least. Noone in the crowd jumped in, and it appeared they broke it up when someone was obviously the winner. Not very entertaining though. And yes this comes from someone with a Muay Thai background in kickboxing, so I know if someone knows what he's doing, or simply has watched too many Van Damme movies.Originally Posted by Onizuka

Uggh, I won't even get into comparing Martial Arts. Let's just say some are more of an art then an actual superior fighting style. I dunno if you've ever watched a Thai Kickboxer against someone who's sporting some flashy Karate around...but it's not pretty.Originally Posted by Stilgar

man... fighting...
im not a very... safe person when im angry..
fighting is stupid, really stupid. win or lose, im going to kill the person, its just the nature of how i get angry
(unless i cant find out where you live, but that really shouldnt be a problem)
I see your E. Honda turbo defense and I raise you a Blanka elctro-charge thingy.Originally Posted by Map
Anyway, you can never expect any rules in an all out, unplanned fight. A very long time ago, there used to be "honorable" ground rules for fighting, such as the OP mentioned. However, in the days of modernity most senses of honor have been tossed out the window. So no, it was not the pussy thing to do. A real fight is no holds barred.

First: let me say the topic of this discussion is "Streat fighting" You in a street fight wouldn't be to fair no would it.. lol.
Second: I'ts a pretty good fight cause it has humor in it, i laughed when i saw this video it was a fun fight.
Third: Where im from people fight often enough and the most skilled one wins in this fight(obviously). In this fight you can see the spanish one is a good fighter even though he jokes around alot when he fights, for he evades alot of the hits thrown at him, his smooth light on his feet and has pretty good balance. He also has good enough streangh to avoid being slamed and or reverse it.
In most fights around my way if your a fast hitter who's light on his feet Vs. a bigger stronger fighter theirs a really good chance his going to try and slam you, you can try and throw a nice combo stoping him before so but chances are if he can slam you he can take the hits so the best choice it to reverse it on him but him being the bigger fighting he doesn't expect you to be strong enough to do so. A good fighter needs a good combination of speed, streanth and agility.

On the major topic an old friend of mine used to say that Martial Arts is "dirty fighting organized." There are lots of ways to look at a fight but unless you're talking about something organized with rules and whatnot, I don't really think there is anyway to classify what defines "a fair fight." The fight might start off with two guys not going after each others nuts, but if you know that that one shot is all it's gonna take to win that fight, if shit isn't going your way I sure as hell know I'd be inclined to go right for it if the situation presented itself.
I don't study martial arts, but a few friends of mine do, one of which was a junior olympic invitee (couldn't go for reasons i don't know).
And what they both told me is that martial arts forms like karate and stuff only really work if you're fighting someone with a similar style because you can predict in a sense what they will do, and use the proper counter.
However in a street fight you fight unpredictable people and i don't care how much karate you know, if you fight someone who isn't going to use the same tactics as you, it doesn't mean a whole lot. Martial arts are art forms, they look good in movies because you can choreograph it.
And no i'm not an authority on the subject this is just what i've been told by my friends who are. So bitch at them if you don't agree.
I've wrestled around with both of my friends, i'm bigger and stronger than both of them, and i'll concede that if they can keep me at a distance they can handle themselves. But if i get inside, there isn't a damn thing they can do.

It doesn't matter whether or not knowing a martial art helps you or not in a real fight, practicing a martial art with dedication will have you in peak physical condition for fighting. That's what it comes down to. Practicing the movements in a fight builds the right kind of muscle and technique to deliver an attack at full power.
I got owned today.
I walked outside, and three of my friends were wearing fighting gear and bum-rushed me in my own backyard. Then somehow, my friend got my torso between his legs and said "This is what I call the scissor!" then he crushed my organs... it was awesome!! :D

perhaps you missed that part of the movie, your seeing 2 of the best SF3 third strike players on the planet fight. Both are fricken insane players, but Diago is just that much better, Ive never seen anything so insane before.
Never really played SF3 against decent players before , But the guy who is playing chun-li looks amatuer to me. The other guy pretty much weasels him so he can't do nothing hardly amazing and flukes one move.
Its Justin Wong playing Chun-Li. My friend was actually at EVO2k4, and if you had seen the fights leading up to there, you'd see why they are the best. The Reason he didnt charge at Diago was because of exactly what you saw, he has the timing for parry perfect. He could have easily done that with anything Wong tried to throw at him. What you saw was him trying to throw off his timing which didnt quite work. >_>
Wong usually hangs out in China Town and Chelsey Piers in NYC, with his "crew" if you ever wanted to challenge him.
