So I was reading that stupid goblin adventure talking about Besieged, and the npc Qiqiru said he was level 58 and had only died 4 or 5 times. Looking at this, I understand this is not going to be anything remotely close to an accurate gauge of what to expect in Besieged, but lv58 dying only 4 or 5 times?

The difference between level 58 and 75 is drastic. From job traits and abilities to endgame equipment we're talking 17 levels of improvement (not to mention varying levels of player skill) that is going to enhance PC vs NPC.

Considering most of us have experienced everything endgame has to offer, what I'm saying is, based on a rough approximation, if this is what they consider endgame or a challenge, I think they have grossly underestimated the strength of level 75 players and that Besieged will, in all likelihood, be way too fucking easy for what most of us are looking for.

I understand that not everyone caught in Besieged will be level 75 but, fuck how is that going to be any fun for them? They're going to die and like hell am I going to stop and raise them, especially when in a situation where the defenders are outnumbered.

So, maybe I'm just being a cynic.
I think you're reading far too much into it and it was probably only said just for the sake of story. Anyway, if the NPC is only level 58, he doesn't have to die a million times. He isn't necessarily solo'ing every mob, they could be provoked off of him or the higher level character will be outdamaging him gaining more hate. So, there may not be a reason for this NPC to die much except for AoEs.

Also, a level 58 mob is still almost borderline Easy Prey to 75 I think, which is still capable of killing some higher level characters especially if it's large groups of them.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but I personally do not want Besieged to be another Dynamis type situation that requires a huge amount of people in large party formations. If it is an hour+ refresh-fest I will avoid that area like a plague.

I would much rather it was something that is casual and fun, where I get to draw my sword for some fun beastmen limb-hacking action. If the mobs are level 65-70-ish then hurray, I get to have solo fun that actually accomplishes something important. The game has too many chores as is, I am hoping that Square finally remembered that games are supposed to lead to enjoyment.

At the fanfest SE said Assault would be for smaller groups (3-6) and was meant to alleviate the necessity of finding a large group to do something fun.

The only hope I had for this was that it wouldn't be like storage and I would be able to access it from any mog house in the game. I guess I shouldn't really complain, any extra space to store Rare/EX goods is acceptable, but I can't help but feel dissapointed that I'm going to have to go out of my way to access my stuff and pay for the "privaledge" of doing so.

The person who makes equipment and the person who deals with jobs are not on speaking terms. This is why SE sees it perfectly acceptable to give BLMs, overpowered as they be, armor increase spell damage with percent, instead of tiny boosts.

Well I've seen your storage, and you've seen mine, so I guess the point is, all of the shit you know you'll never use, but cant part with, can go into the Mog Locker, leaving more room to have gear in your storage/Mog Safe. My Storage is just as good as my Mog Safe 99% of the time, so I see them as one and the same. Essentially adding this Locker makes my Mog Safe bigger, as I just rotate everything based on priority use.

I can't force myself to throw away Lohar. I know it's crap axe in comparison to Kabrakan's or Acha d'Armas, but damn it, I earned it.

One thing for sure tho, Ulhfedinn's Axe, Kamewari and A l'Outrance are getting chucked once I get past their level.

So basically it's just storage that doesn't fuck up our moghancements?

I think they seriously should tweak how moghancements work because it extremely difficult to make the most of storage while gaining a useful moghancement. It's a trade-off and unfortunately inventory pretty much always wins in the end.

I'm far too cheap and lazy for mannequins, Bastok conquest currently, but seeing as I get most of my xp in sea, pretty pointless >_>

See, the thing about Bastok, it gives you a nice Lightning boost if I'm not mistaken. When I had Sandy conquest going I had Fire boost which was nice considering I'm doing Smithing.

I don't know, I haven't given it much thought actually.

Maybe limit moghancement influence to non-typical storage, crafting, or gardening items. e.g. pictures, silverware, plaques, nation flags, colored jugs, etc. would all influence your moghancement. However, things like mastersmith anvil, brass flowerpot, armoire, mannequins, etc. would not affect it.

I don't understand why they do not just let you pick your enchantment(the strength is still based on how much 'elemental feel' you have in your house). You bought the item, now you should get the reward.
