I repeat myself. A Job doens't need the trait to give it.

It is FACT, THF will give Critical Hit Bonus. (Which they do not have)

DRG giving Haste does make sense. I would say the same with Ninja and Thief.

EDIT: Not that I think Max is right. Even if he is right, he is wrong. Please go away Max.

Thief might not gain a Critical Hit Bonus trait but what stat are critical hits based on? Could it be DEX, their highest stat? And what exactly does sneak attack say it does in the description and on the log when it's performed?

Dragoon uses one of the slowest weapons in the game and have absolutely no attack speed enhancing traits or stats or equipment that grants it. Dragoon giving haste makes absolutely no sense, an accuracy boost would make complete sense.

I disagree. Critical Hit bonus makes sense for THF since most of their job revolves around properly using SA (& TA / Assassin) which is a major critical hit. They are also given high dex and have access to large amounts of dex gear to help with the ability's damage along with a high crit rate.

DRG and Haste really does not seem to have any connection whatsoever.

    Edit: What Russta said

Wether it makes sense, and it definately doesnt make more sense then Acc Bonus Trait, it's still not as dumb as an idea as you guys are making it out to be. It's DRG related in that it's on DRG specific gear. Does that mean it will be the COR job buff? Hell no. I'm going with Septimus' idea.

Locke, give it up, these guys just like shitting on anything I ever post. You may have the title locketroll, but they carry out the role.

My point remains though, haste bonus is not completely unfounded and would give DRG a bonus that would, in the eyes of the community, make them much more worthwhile party members.

DRGs are often tied to building TP fast, because of Jumps mostly(and Spirit Surge now). The best way to 'show' that they do that would be Haste. And, for whatever reason, they are tied to Haste a lot(as shown in subjob gear).

I do think THF getting a Critical Hit bonus does make sense, but its not a trait, making it possible that jobs won't simply give traits.

    Code:
    Healer's Earring - Latent Effect: Enmity -1
Killer Earring - Latent Effect: Attack +5
    Magician's Earring - Latent Effect: MP +30
    Mercenary's Earring - Latent Effect: Vitality +2
    Pilferer's Earring - Latent Effect: Dexterity +2
    Singer's Earring - Latent Effect: Evasion +5
    Trimmer's Earring - Latent Effect: Accuracy +5
Warlock's Earring - Latent Effect: MP Regeneration While Healing +1
Wizard's Earring - Latent Effect: Elemental Magic Skill +5
    Wrestler's Earring - Latent Effect: HP +30
Wyvern Earring - Latent Effect: Haste +5%
Ashigaru Earring - Latent Effect: Parrying Skill +5
Beater's Earring - Latent Effect: Ranged Accuracy +3
    Esquire's Earring - Latent Effect: Defense +5
Genin Earring - Latent Effect: Agility +4
I can understand some of these earrings to be in relation to passive job trait aspects, but some just don't make sense.

I'd say WAR and MNK are better known for getting TP fast, and favoring haste builds.

There are 3 that don't seem to make sense: Trimmer, Singer, and Wyvern, yet the fact that they are there means that there is something that the designers said "well these jobs are represented by these abilities." So something about DRG means haste to them, and they could expand the concept. Once again: there is nothing that defines DRG that can be pushed into other jobs as a passive bonus. The Acc bonus is NOT job defining.

For example: Warlock's Earring - Latent Effect: MP Regeneration While Healing +1

Red Mages have the worst Clear Mind Trait out of all mage jobs.

I suppose if you're looking for COR to give something unique to other players from each job then it might make sense for DRG to give +haste since RNG would likely give the Acc boost and DRK would give the Attack boost. However, I just don't find haste to be very DRG defining.

Also, there's nothing that says the COR buff from DRG can't be a combination buff similar to some of Diabolos' buffs (Magic Atk + Magic Def) or Fenrir's (Acc up + Eva up) etc. DRG could possibly give a combined Atk and Acc up to a lesser effect of what RNG and DRK does.

Then why would they choose them? Random drawing out of a hat?

Which exactly don't make sense? Yes surprisingly Evasion is a common trait in most BRD gear... Musical Earring, AF2 Accessory, etc.

You cannot base your reasoning about job traits on those earrings. Stop.
