Check out germany: you must pay 8-9% of your income to be a Christian.

Given, it doesnt seem to really be money grubbing, but it is paying to be admitted into the faith.

Actually, Isaac Hayes (the voice of Chef) had a stroke last year, which is why he was on very few episodes last season. Some of Hayes's family members believe that his Scientology handlers released that letter without his knowledge because he is still fairly incapacitated from the stroke.

Tithing would be on a church by church basis I thought, not by country lol. Never heard of a church that forced people to tithe lol... the people would just go to a different church haha.

I believe the church of jesus of the latter-day saints (or something along those lines) requires you to pay 10% of your income as "donation" to build more temples and such.
