The rumor that there was no hate from the extra damage started i believe with Excalibur. As you all know, excalibur has an additional effect: damage based on hp/mp or some such thing like that. the add effect damage from excalibur is a significant amount of damage, but does not count for hate purposes.

this is *not* the same thing as the triple damage effect. that is pure physical damage, and lots of it, it definately causes the normal amount of hate.

I know of 3 NA's on Fenrir that have Relics.

Guen has Club, WHM/NIN sub weapon Kraken go-go-go.
Deevo has Gun which he misses WS's with.
Cleen has Dagger which he uses with Kraken in off hand when camping THF Knife.

Another quick relic question. Do relic weapons work like sea weapons for DA/TA purposes for triple damage, or does the triple damage negate the ability for DA/TA to proc?

quetzalcoatl has an excalibur and a spharai

bramd has a excalibur which he never uses since he quit pld

lucifar either quit or rarely ever plays anymore

rooi has a caliburn but he's had that for like 6 months

You can DA/TA with the triple-damage hidden effect. Whether you can proc both in the same combat round; I assume you can, but I couldn't tell you for sure as my parser doesn't flag DA/TA.
