We arn't talking about the point system (even though I hate it), its more the asshats that use their points on shit THAT DOES NOTHING FOR THEM. And to say the blms had half the points is stupid. It has already been said the blm had like 4 points less. No matter what anyone says, this whm is greedy as hell. Even if you did "earn it", why in flying fucks sake would you want it, especially if you know its the best item in the game for that slot for another job.

hmm, in this case:
Less work = 2 less camps-ish
Reward = Something you basically can't use (It's like having a nice car and using it only for the radio)
Reward = something the people right behind you in points want and would make better

To me it's like... Nidhogg just died, it dropped Koenig Body. A WAR with the most points is thinking "do I spent my points on Koenig or wait for Adaman?" In this case, while there may be a chance that they never claim Nidhogg or never see an E.Body drop, it would definately be worth it to wait and hope they get it in the future.

It definately sucks see things go by, but in most cases it's worth it in the end. I ended up waiting a good six months or so before recieving the E.Body I was next in line for. But it was well worth the wait in the end. In the case of your WHM it would've been worth it as well, seeing as more earrings dropped in the future.

But again this is just my opinion, so meh.

No, you obviously overestimate -enmity by a large amount. You can get many -enmity items from the AH easily, you cannot get anywhere near as much +MAB items. In fact, I'm pretty sure theres a cap on -enmity benefits and after they added crow/raven items it's damn easy to reach.

I basically ignore the -enmity stat on gear and play like a chucklehead tossing cure 4s and banging on mobs like a monkey and I rarely pull agro. I don't notice any difference wearing errant and wearing AF2 on RDM. The only times mages realy pull agro are a) BLM being goofs and nuking straight off, b) WHM at wyrms who have ample time to log, c) RDM who have to spam dispel mobs non-stop or chainspell stun, d) BRDs, none of which I've seen bother to equipment swap raven gear in for ballads so obviously aren't concerned about how often they pull agro either.

I'll say it again, enmity is far from useless for WHM and if anything it's underestimated. And no, I'm not talking about RDMs, a RDM will normally never have to do as much Curing or Support as a WHM or as much damage as a BLM will in most fights, so of course you're not going to pull hate often.

There are still WHMs that MP whore themselves to 1.3k+ MP on HNMs, only to pull hate and often die more than WHMs in enmity. Either that or be forced to log out on a cycle every few minutes.

So what you're saying is... It's better to have a single BLM do more damage per nuke, which in turn will not result in a faster kill since they're limited by hate barriers, than it is for a WHM to sit with more -enmity (or replace other -enmity slots with MP to make up for the earring) and keep members of the alliance alive without pulling hate or dieing or having to log?

Flux is pointing out the fact that there is no set like hmmmmmmm, errant....or blessed gear when it comes to MAB+. There is a latent activated circlet, an expensive body, an earring and abj. hands (not including rdm AF2 feet) and those shitty +3 MAB hands. Uga pendant...latent blah blah blah. It is a hell of a lot easier to get -enmity than MAB which is why it's so coveted.
