I think i would have left the ls the day a whm got the +7mgk attack earring... Their has to be a reason... #1:He's lvling blm to 75 asap(even so another blm could have gotten one till he got his blm to 75) or #2: his just an asshole who likes to make people suffer for no aparent reason..

He's cool about it, and loans out the earring to ls blms all the time. There will be many more JoL's, many more earring, and same said for AV. The drops will always go to those who worked the hardest for them. If that system is unfair to you, then I guess your shell must just rock a lot more than mine.

I'm in the LS and I just thought I'd add my 2 cents. It's hard to work out a system that's fair for drops like these (ambiguous stats and equippable by all jobs).

We did have a long discussion about this and we decided it's too difficult to put priority on jobs. Sure, it would bug you if a mage took the Mars Ring...but most people have the sense not to do that.

Map had the most points and SAMs definitely do benefit from this belt a lot. Probably the best belt in-game right now for melees (except MNK). So it's not like Map should curb his point spending because a NIN with half the points wants it. He runs the LS too and has put probably 8 months into farming sea 2 days a week.

The next in line for the belt is a DRK. Should he really have to stick with swordbelt+1 just because a select few jobs benefit more from the sash (NIN, THF, others?).

Remember, these aren't like HNM or sky drops where they are job limited. It would be extremely difficult to put a tier value on jobs that could bid these items.

One thing to note here - our shell is purely a Sea Shell. Its called SeaShell after all. We have people from many different HNM shells or social shells; basically if you have Sea and you're not a total douche you can join. And so far its worked quite well - this was our 4th JoL, 3rd AV pop, and we've done more tier1 and tier2 jailers than I can count. We meet Thursdays and Sundays only for all of this, and manage to get a lot done.

Yes some BLMs were pissed when the WHM got the earring. But the discussion about it covered the fact that prohibiting jobs/people from lotting certain things would lead to more trouble and drama than letting him have this. We basically left it up to each player to be responsible and mature about what they chose to lot or pass. To his credit, the BLM that would have gotten the earring had the WHM passed it was very nice when the earring did go to the WHM. Showed a lot more balls doing that than whining about it like some people suggested.

There's really not much for whm to lot in sea. His blm isn't high, but he's working on it, and that's a great motivational piece. We didn't ask his motives, he's a really nice guy and we put faith in him being able to put his earring to use.

I can agree with belt for any mele, but what exatly does a whm use novio for?

Sash only decent for DRK/NIN using Axe/Axe, Axe/Ridill. DRK/WAR and DRK/THF cna go to hell.

Maybe you guys should think about your LS. Giving the earring to a WHM doesent help the progression of the LS really. Did it make the WHM a better WHM? No. In the case of your LS, I think I would lot the sash for my rdm/nin. Just so I can lose 3 sec on utusemi recast.

Now, will the sash [on me] help the LS in anyway shape or form? no because no rdm use /nin during LS events where the rdm needs to be... a rdm. So, really it is as if you never killed JoL or AV. You kill them but your ls has not progressed in gear.

My ls Just killed JOL for the first time half way hoping for AV pop Half way not.

Points are a good way to distribute loot but it has its draw backs just like doing order.

Anyways. I'm curious though about how u guys seal his 2hrs I have read through the endless posts about the Av's that have been defeated and nothing substantial has been pin pointed i wonder if maybe torques might play a role in his 2hr. I

MO I dont think AV is really intended to be defeated as of yet. But who knows people seem to be almost killing him weekly bi weekly now. I do believe in using terrain (sp) to an advantage but only to an extent if that makes sense.

though if he was truly not meant to be defeated however I dont think SE would have given him the drops so who knows I guess this is speculation.

Map's LS is just a sea LS, if they killed everything without those things, I'm sure it'll be no hassle to do it again.

LSes are, above all, about the people in the LS. The shell/sack/pearls are just ways of grouping those people together and facilitating easy communication.

RustyMetal, have you ever used the Novio Earring? I was the one person (basically) who was against the whm getting the earring. Beacause well, you're reasons. I thought it was stupid whm get it over blm and that it would be more useful if I got it or another blm in higher tiers. BUUUUUT! I let it go, he got the earring because he DID spend a lot of his time devoted to sea, earning those points. He has nothing else to spend his points on, so why not spend it on this?

He lends it out to blms at sea when he's there, and to his other friends for dynamis/other things and thats really kind of him imo. I used the earring and it was around 70 more damage per nuke, not that amazing really.

Edit: And Onizuka, no blms dont kiss his ass to use it, or at least I dont >_>... he always sends me a tell saying "Would you like to use the earring?^^" or something close to that, and i just reply "sure" because its not that omgwtfuber... He's a nice guy, dies for the ls a lot raising people lost inside place or gardens and didn't take it to spite anyone

Whenever map subs nin during sea runs, he tanks, a lot lol. So he does have use for the haste, att always helps, but sublte blow/spell interrupt meh. He's got a use for it, not as much as nin or thf or w/e would but its not going to waste. And yeah, the whm is leveling up blm for your information.

Now! Back to AV pls! We don't know what we did, but we can prove you don't need a JP button for drops! He did bene real early for like 7k hp and we have no idea why, he did bene again at like 70% but then after that no more, even though he used other 2hrs. We had whm sam and pld engaged with corresponding jailer weapons. Map as sam was only one to hit AV, but it didn't really seem to do anything (it did call wyvern right afterwards). Sooooo either it was all luck or we did something lol...
