Nynja, Roranora: Did you guys do anything differently on the Temperance kills that didn't drop virtue? I just assumed it was 100% because we are 19/19... Better yet, does someone have a screenshot of the virtue not dropping?

You guys are just really lucky, we've had numerous Temperances not drop Virtue.

Temperance is definitely not 100% for us. Maybe around 70%. Ix'aern (monk) is definitely not 100%... Killed last night with no drop. So far Ix drg and drk have been 100% for either a cape or deed. I've got 9 damn deed of moderations lying around, because we merit at drk and drg spawn for fun, trying to farm capes... I've also never experienced sheer animosity from any aern other than one from the ??? room. I've gotten the message plenty of times as a Hume Nin and Rdm. Never seen Temp pop on any floor besides basement...

We got nothing on Ix'Drk and Ix'Drg the first time, but it was 2-3 patches ago. They might have changed drop rate since then.



About Ix'Drk, did anyone ever got the message from a Aern outside the 3 in the "???" room. I'm wondering if you could pull one from the large room and get the message

my LS does that, but we've only gotten the message on the original three.

We often did that but never got anything. It's hard to say if it's useless since ~15% of our kill are from that room, but I think someone would have noticed by now if we were getting the message from outside Aern.

Also, just ran through every tower, every PH, no pop.. so there most definately is a significant downtime on Temperance.

We had nothing more than once (at least twice) with thief in the alliance. I remember people being sarcastic about thief not being able to get last hit.

NMs with high drop rate seem to be influenced a lot by TH. I wouldn't be surprised if a thief could take a 66% drop and make it a 95%.

Yeah, we experienced some pretty shitty drop rates until we starting sticking TH4 into every kill. We're getting a decent amount of Torques and Virtues now...although our recent Justice actually gave us a Torque and not a Virtue, which is pretty gay.

As for Temperance, there is almost definitely some kind of downtime for him. However, sometimes 1 trip through the palace won't pop him. We did a similar thing where we had someone kill one PH repeatedly while the group went to the other towers. After 3 PH kills, Temperance popped. We however used a RDM + BLM combo, so Temperance was easy to hold while the ally arrived. We tried this again 2 days later, and once again Temp popped for the duo group.

Ix'DRG is just a penis. Our current streak is at 21 hours of killing on the 2nd floor without a DRG. We usually stick a manaburn PT up there as often as possible, but we never get results. We also brought the entire LS worth of 28 people and split up, trashing 2 rooms each. No pop for 4 hours with that method.

DRK seems totally random. We've waited 30mins for a pop, and we've given up after 4 hours before.

Also, to the guy who said MNK isn't 100%, did you not use 3 organs? We've done 20+ MNKs and never seen a no drop before.

Whoever said that Prudence has a good drop rate is full of shit too. Our LS is 3/3 on Justice, 1/5~ on Hope, and 1/7~ on Prudence which was basically what held up killing Love for over a month seeing as having to farm that many DRG Ix isn't a very fast process, especially when for some reason he drops cape half the time when we don't even want it (and the MNK & DRK never drop cape that we do want).

Temperance isn't even remotely 100% drop, I can't even believe that you could go 19/19 on it. As far as popping it, I do that solo while the rest of the LS is doing other things (like various Ix's or Faith) and I have never cleared all 5 rooms without it popping. Never gone to a basement floor either.

what's your drop rates look like on Fortitude Torque?

Is there any credence to seemingly silly theories like killing Fortitude with melee damage to increase virtue drop rate? I know we try to kill it melee damage, but occasionally it dies to DoT first. It seemed to actually work for a bit, probably just luck though. 1/18 on Fortitude torque.

Fortitude has to be the most jewish monster in FFXI, higher on the scale than Tiamat. (and don't even argue about the fire crystal vs fortitude axe, the fire crystal is a lot more versatile)

We've killed it with melee damage and magic, and just the axe only has dropped. I've also read theories about killing it before killing the kfghrah but we have not done that yet.. seems like too much trouble but with the way ghrah m chips never drop, it might be worth trying.

For Ix'aern monk we usually pop with 1 organ, but it does seem that with 1 organ the drop rate is better then 30%.. so if looking to save organs, that still may be the way to go. On capes we are probably around 2/20 on Drk, 0/15 on monk, 4/15 or so on Drg...

I dont believe in any of the theories about drop rates.. it all seems pretty random. We're like 4/4 on fortitude virtues and 2/4 on the torque. Faith we are probably around 8/20 on virtue and 2/20 on torque. Hope 2/13 on virtue, 2/13 on Torque. Justice 2/3 on virtue 0/3 on torque. Prudence 2/8 virtue, 0/8 torque.. and we got a love halberd from JoL onry on one of our 2 pops..
