We went with 1 TH3 last time and didn't fail to get 2 chests on any floor. In addition, you get like 4-8 loose coins per floor from normal mobs.

One time we did Apolly SE with 2 thfs (TH2/3) and we got a coin from every single normal mob until the 3rd floor.
Meh, I do want to try taking one but it really complicates our entire group by adding a Thief.
None of the limbuses require 18 people to win... Even if the THF was nothing but a TH whore (which would be a crappy THF of course) its still easily winnable.
I know that which is why we win NE, NW and W with six constantly. The problem adding a Thief would create is simply one with coin distribution. I said the day we started we would never go above six people (because I believe when you do that you might as well go all the way with members and farm Ultima and Omega regularly) but we did by adding one of the member's wife who's also a friend of ours. The deal with her joining was that they would share one share of coins between the two of them so adding a Thief would mean needing to guarantee an extra 16-20 per run which doesn't seem very feasible.

If you're that deathly afraid of lowering your coin-per-week rate by 1 or 2, then I guess you'll have to suffer through sketchy chest drop rate in tem.west.

We have 2 THFs in our Limbus crew of 11, one of which has TH3, but they both come as RDM and SMN, but I guess for the enhanced one we will have to change him from SMN to THF then, never realized it was so dependent on TH.

The first time we ever did it we won, and only 1 floor got one chest and we got the item chest every single floor.

I think when Limbus first came out, th didn't do anything, but they changed it soon after since thf is basically completely inferior to other jobs for the event.

It's very noticeable when you have TH active, mobs drop loose coins VERY often.

I personally don't care an awful lot about my own coin drop rate now but I have others to take care of and think about that do. I have Boxer's Mantle, Brutal Earring, Ninja Hatsuburi +1 and Choral Cuffs +1, the four items I set my sights on the day Limbus was introduced. Anything else I want now is simply a case of waiting for the respective items to drop and trading them in with the coins earned along the way.

And with regards to a Thief preventing sketchy drop rates in Temenos West, that's not entirely true in my experience. We've done West without a Thief four times now and only got fucked over once (last Sunday, the one I referenced) still walking away with five coins each and a few needed items. I have done West before with two Thieves, one with TH3, in my previous LS and we were booted out on the Mando level with two coins each because we didn't get a single time chest. I will, however, be the first to agree with you that Treasure Hunter makes a huge difference on loose coin drops.

    2) Has anyone successfully popped him by killing the same Pot over and over? All the times he's popped it was on the first kill of that particular towers pot. It almost seems as if he's guaranteed to pop if the window is up. However, there have been times where nobody was in the palace for 6+ Hours, and we cleared all the towers with no pop. Has any sort of rhyme or reason been established as to what exactly the conditions for popping are? We've also noticed that sometimes one of the towers doesn't have a pot in it, is there a reason for this? (I think 2nd floor Mithra was empty) Do you think that perhaps killing one of the escort pots could potentially spawn Temperance in one of these empty towers?
    3) Lastly, what is the repop timer on him? After successfully killing Temperance, how long must you wait before being poppable again? Has anyone ever had him pop in rapid succession?
We did a run a couple months back where one of our BLMs wanted to try soloing 1 placeholder while the rest of the group checked out the other spawn points. After a little while he eventually popped it before we managed to get the group all the way through the Palace. I don't know how many place holders he killed, but it was definately more than 2. After he popped it he tried kiting it around the Ebon Panel room while we all rushed to him, we didn't make it in time as he died while running and it eventually depopped. He went back to soloing while the rest of us went and did something else (I think another Fayth or Fortitude). By the time we were done an hour or two later, he was still at it and we started heading to make another round at the towers in Palace, luckily this time he popped it right as we started out and we could get to him fast enough.

So, it can be popped by killing the same place holder over and over again, it was awhile ago so I don't recall the exact downtime after the depop, at least an hour though. Seems like you don't have to go around and check all the PH's if you don't want to, almost as if the PH moves from tower to tower until you kill the right one at the right time (which would explain why you can see no one there for hours and still not pop it after checking every place holder at least once).
I think this is the most interesting information concering Temperance so far.

Assuming this is accurate, that means that contrary to what we at first believed to be true, you can definately do an entire lap around the palace and never see it pop (since based on your information it is a lottery). So occasionally when we're unlucky and run an entire lap and see nothing pop, it doesn't mean the lottery isn't ready like we initially thought. Which is really helpful to know...

But, I think the theory you mentioned at the end is really interesting as well. Quite a few of the ???s in sea that pop the NMs move around between different towers (in fact, I think all of them do in the garden/palace?), so it wouldn't be too crazy to assume that Temperance is similar in this regard? Where his PH moves around through the towers as well?

I think it's the best theory I've heard for its popping condition so far. Good thing too, thanks to Hope being a bitch (1/8 on virtue?) we're short on his virtue to complete a good 3-4 Love sets. :\

I believe Rukenshin's correct--I think the Temperance-popping pot rotates around every so often, maybe every game day? It's hard to say.

Not sure how you can blow 30 minutes and not even finish floor 2 (mando)...there's another risk to going with a small group, I guess. With 8-9 people you should be able to clear a floor in 10 minutes ish. Thf doesn't guarantee time chest on each floor, but in my experience it is very rare to not get it, as you're usually getting 2 chests per floor, sometimes all 3, so you should be able to score ~5 chests before your time expires.

Anyway, another point is that even if you're splitting the coins 1 extra direction, thf should increase your loose coin count by quite a lot, so the overall hit isn't that bad. If you're splitting say 60 coins 6 ways, and the thf adds 10 loose coins (which isn't unreasonable in a full clear), then you haven't lost anything. Again, you're balancing your desire for ex items against more coins; if you just wanted coins you'd just spam the most profitable zone, probably NE, and toss all the ex crap. Maybe you should ask the other people in the static what their preference is.

Of course, the real complication is that you're already splitting the coins unevenly So adding a thf with a full cut wouldn't be fair to the 2 people who are already helping out for a half cut. Drama incoming~ if you do that hehe.

Well, to be honest, the group I went with was kinda average with a horrible job spread. Me as Ninja, two Thieves for all the damage, a Summoner, a Bard, a Red Mage and a White Mage is what we usually had so it's easy to see why taking thirty minutes for the Tiger and Mando floor was quite possible. We also had a Dragoon that occasionally showed up and melee'd in Hecatomb pieces that added up to Slow+22%...

Yeah that's the biggest problem I've tried to outline. We go from splitting coins six way to splitting them eight ways by adding one person.

Maybe in the big groups thf is, but you rarely need a full 18 for anything other than boss fights.

But I can reach the 3rd floor duoing with a blm friend of mine, if we used any medicine and I actually had non-piercing weapons to use (bare fists ftl) we would have a chance at killing some of those.

And ninja+brd can duo apo SE just as well, if the ninja has dagger proficiency. Ninja kills faster than thf, fact.

Hell a ninja alone can reach the second floor.

I'm not calling thf gimped, I'm just saying, a large portion of what they bring to the table in many situations is TH, and it was stupid when TH didn't affect drops in the areas, and they fixed it rather quick so it was probably a bug.
