Only NPC's I found in all the .dat's is a few gobs, a Galka that apparently is at mhura that flips a sign that signifies if the ship is going to TaU area or Vanadiel

...because Joytoy is a mage type sword, whereas Ridill is more of a Knights/Heavily armored job type sword: WARs, DRKs, BSTs, etc. It's entirely possible, but a job with A- Sword that could use Ridill would be REALLY broken. (as of now B is the highest skill of any job which can use Ridill.)Originally Posted by Razz

Shit. Well, then I dunno. Sadly the fact that THF can use a Ridill slipped my mind, considering I have both THF to 75 and Ridill. Still, THF is more of a melee orientated class. Trust me I'd be all for BLU using Ridill, I just don't see SE giving JPs ANOTHER reason to go back to the Aery and camp again.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike

Ridill already is really broken. More than likely BLU will be able to use Ridill, and maybe dalmatica. Still, there is a good chance BLU AF2 body might have refresh or a more meaningful stat that makes dalmatica less desirable, and there is also a good chance that there will be weapons that enhance a BLU's ability more than wacking a 2-3 hit sword at an enemy.
So to conclude, all the ex-rangers who haven't leveled war can most likely play with their ridill without having their images tarnished with a "gimp" job.
any retired rangers with ridill who didnt level warrior I would really like to light on fire, would be a waste of a really nice swordOriginally Posted by epigram
I think elemental staves will effect BLU's magic.
And to top it off, lets hope they have no staff skill just to rub it in.Originally Posted by BRP

The smart BLUs will probably be using INT/MND clubs until 51, when they use elemental staves until 75.
The noob BLUs will be meleeing and using swords, and will sub WAR or NIN, especially in dunes.
Unfortunately, I think that until the newness of the job wears off and people figure out exactly what sub you should use for BLU (most likely /WHM) and how to play the job, we'll be seeing the vast majority of them trying to be tank or DD instead of conserving MP and healing the tank and DDs.
Granted, at this point, I don't know enough about the job either, but I'm just speculating that's how it'll turn out.
hmmm, you know, i'm seriously begining to think that BLU could be a competent tank with the right abilities set. It's all dependant on how much the abilities cost however as far as points, and there's a chance it won't be possible till like 60+ (when they start getting AoE stun and icespikes/def up from sea mobs), but theres always hope for new tanks^^.
It's possible, but a bit too much to hope for, I'd say.Originally Posted by deakka
Even in hindsight, there are still a few people who try to say things like SAM and MNK were meant to be tanks, and point to enmity on SAM AF, and Counter, Dodge, Chakra, HP Bonus, etc. on MNK to try to prove their point. Nonetheless, find me an HNMLS that use SAM and MNK tanks, and I'll admit the possibility that BLU might actually be a tank.
I dont think that at all. The job to me looks extremly versatile, even letting you customize your magic, which in turn customises your stats.Originally Posted by Khamsin
So while in melee mode, their stats change with their spells, no longer making them "suck at melee" since you know, the job shifts itself.
If they're in mage mode, they wont suck, since their stats change for the spells.
Not all BLU spells are affected by int/mnd like traditional spells, some spells are physical, im thinking that the +stat infront of each spell is a hint to it's modifier. Give the blu a ton of STR and attack, and a physical spellset. Then let's see how well they work. Im not going to turn down any meleeing BLU, aslong as they have the spellset ready for it, the only thing im gonna turn down is parties in old zones. Im looking forward to new zones
Wafik, assuming you get ToAU in good time I was planning on spending the Friday or Saturday evening after it comes out looking for new xp spots at 75, want to come along?![]()
MISSIONSSSSSSS
I'm hoping BLU uses CHR as their main stat. It make sense they are practically mimes as they act as other monsters.
It'll probably be dependant on what ability your using. From the looks if it, the ones that have +agi on it probably are dependant on agi etc.Originally Posted by BRP
Sure thing! I was planning to go as BST to all the new zones and see what's charmable, so I can come BST with your group and xp/explore/start up the ToaU charm list.Originally Posted by Krandor

Ok anyway..(thought I'd just share something)
I really like the way Phantom Roll sounds, and BLU looks like how RDM was supposed to be..only betterI Personally can't wait till this expansion comes out, BLU and COR sounds like the best of the 3, and there's SOO many new areas..it seems more then CoP for some reason..(no level caps..so yay they'll have people in em more then for just missions)
(I have like..14 or so from the gameplay this morning I'd upload but don't know if they're relivant to anything.)
Besieged is lvl cap awww, wanted to go Lv75 nuke spree
I doubt it's level capped, I think the icon is there just to indicate you're part of Beseiged. They also said something about restricting subjobs in certain events, wouldnt be surprised if beseiged was one of them. It's fun sometimes, stupid when sj's are important though .
But lucky you cant lose exp from this, so sj or not , will be fun :D
