You didn't read what I said did you... No THF would wear -CHR gear right? Well a lot of 'good' DRKs wear -MND for Guillo.Originally Posted by Kaouri

It was a sarcastic joke. You missed the point. STOP FUCKING POSTING!
Then stop arguing with me on my points damnit. I'm going to defend my arguements when people assault them.
Modifiers suck.

My explanation to your interesting conclusion of DRK > THF was my above response. Sorry you couldn't get it. It wasn't a matter of reading comprehension problems on my end...Kaouri wrote:
Maybe the THFs Maxx plays with all pile up on CHR gear ftw.
You did have a reading comprehension problem if you think I said a blanket statement like DRK > THF. Said DRK gets more DoT (assume I'm not talking piercing weak mobs...)Originally Posted by Kaouri

Maxx, i don't really know you so i don't have anything really to say about you. But when you post something like that you just sound so ignorant that i can't help but believe what everyone say's about you.
You are ok to have your own opinions on things, but when evidence is shown which do not support your points, and there is enough support against your points....you need to have the ability to step back and say ok, it may not be the same as my opinion, but i can see where you're coming from.
If you lack that ability, then you just sound like an asshat. From that statement i have quoted and the general opinion of you on this board...it would seem to be the case.
That is not to say that if you can support your point you shouldn't defend it...but in this case you really are a one legged man in an ass kicking contest with what you say.
A point is not valid simply because it is your point.
This isn't a personal attack, more of an observation.
You're still on this? I lost interest an hour ago.Originally Posted by Hirronimus

Ah, you're right. I went back and re-read that. I thought you were making two separate points. You win.Originally Posted by Hirronimus

As i said i was more making a generalization about your approach to defending your arguements.Originally Posted by Maxxthepenguin
In this case you really are just defending a position that doesn't exist. I'm not going to say that in an arguement of 50 vs 1, that the 50 is always right. But, this isn't exactly rocket science.
One can only assume that the majority of people here have a good grasp on the mechanics of the game; and, with the game having been out for 2+ years now it is widely known what is...and isn't good. So when you come out saying things like Drk's can out dmg Wars....well you should know what to expect.
In an arguement against a statement like that, evidence isn't really needed to support a claim that is already accepted as true. Nobody has to further prove or give supporting evidence for newtons law of gravity if you can see what i'm getting at.
If someone were to come along and say, NO gravity does not exist...well experiments wouldn't have to be done all over again so that we can re-confirm an already known truth.
lol nice

How about responding to this statement that I made in my previous post:
'No matter what people say to you in response, you disregard anything they say because it doesn't cooincide with your views. '
In regards to your respone to my previous post:
You see, its statements like this that just prove what I said about you. You have a view that duel wielded one-handed weapons are overpowered, and you won't change your mind no matter what. No, dual wield and the axes available are overpowered. If 2h weapon damage was so broken you'd see THF have a lot better DoT. You know DRK out DoTs THF.
Now, lets look at this whole concept without any of the bias opinions:
Overpowered and underpowered or broken(in this case) are relative terms. Duel wielded one-handed weapons are overpowered compared to two-handed weapons and two-handed weapons are underpowered compared to duel wielded one-handed weapons.
Now think about the matter in this way: Remember how pissed off so many people were about the ranger nerf? The dev team would essentially be asking a large portion of their player base to quit if they nerfed duel wielded one-handed weapons, and I wouldn't think they want that. For any online game designer, they know that taking something away that people have becomed accustomed to will get a lot of negative response. The only logical alternative(that and they already said they won't be nerfing duel wielded one-handed weapons) is to buff two-handed weapons.
If you want to know my view on the whole matter, I'll post a small summary of what I posted on allakhazam a long time ago(before I had been jaded about SE fixing the damage formulas versus two-handed and one-handed weapons).
The main things that are looked for in a melee class is TP gain, damage over time, and survivability. Classes that have all these are currently the loved classes. Classes that are missing any of them are tossed aside. For instance:
WAR: Berserk for higher damage output, double attack for higher damage output and faster TP gain, high survivability with ninja sub and enhanced damage output with dual wield.
NIN: A lot of available +haste% gear to enhance damage over time and TP gain, duel wield traits to enhance damage over time and TP gain, double attack from warrior sub for enhanced damage over time and TP gain, berserk from warrior sub for higher damage output and little consequence since lower defense doesn't matter with utsusemi on for xp mobs, not-so-difficult to get katanas with a large crit%, utsusemi for high survivability.
MNK: A lot of available +haste% gear to enhance damage over time and TP gain, job traits that enhance H2H speed that enhance damage over time and TP gain, job abilities that enhance damage output and survivability, large hp pool so that /war sub is viable in burn parties in KRT, double attack for higher damage over time and TP gain from warrior sub, berserk for higher damage over time from warrior sub. If they choose to sub ninja, their innate job abilities and traits still allows for high damage output and a significant increase in survivability.
SAM: Very high TP gain, high WS damage with thief sub or higher TP gain and damage over time with warrior sub, relatively low per-hit damage is made up for with such high TP gain so that they can use more then one WS a fight need be where a few other jobs wouldn't even have enough TP for one WS. Survivability is a bit lacking and it does take good gear to make samurai really shine, but survivability is moot with /thf, though with /war you really need to have good people to party with that can hold hate well. Samurai is a step below nin, mnk, and war(my opinion, subject to change if proof is given), and a large step above DRK, DRG, and THF.
DRG: Low per hit damage, low WS damage, moderate TP gain, relatively low damage over time. Their innate job traits do little to enhance their damage, and their wyvern does not provide nearly enough of a damage improvement and the wyvern dies easily to AOE and the class is crippled without the wyvern out. Their job abilities do not enhance their damage output since they specialize at removing hate(which might mean something if DRG could reliably take hate if they went all out damage-wise) and not improving damage output. Warrior sub enhances damage over time and TP gain a bit, but overall DoT is lacking since TP gain isn't high enough and warrior sub cripples DRG WS damage. Survivability is moderate if they ever get hate somehow since they can remove all hate from themselves, but they still take damage from AOEs and pretty much all end game mobs to xp on have some sort of annoying or really damaging AOE.
THF: Thief is a unique case. They can sub ninja for higher TP gain, higher survivability, but lower WS damage. That and considering SA and TA have 1 minute recast timers, they aren't viable in melee parties since SATA isn't gonna be ready every fight in time for a chain above 5. They can sub warrior for higher WS damage and good DoT, but it has lower survivability and lower TP gain. Unlike quite a few other melees, they can't have it all.
DRK: Where to begin. Slowest TP gain out of all classes due to main weapons having the highest delay over all other classes. Per hit damage is severely lacking with /thf, TP gain is horrid with /thf, suvivability is moderate with /THF because of TA. With /war, per hit damage is decent with berserk up, but WS damage suffers and TP gain, while better, is still crap. The only really viable WS to use with a two handed weapon in a WS spam party for DRK with a WAR sub is guillotine. Guillotine has no damage modifiers, so the damage is capped at about 200ish(although the very large damage range would make this be much more like 130-220) per swing for a max total of about 800 damage on guillotine no matter how much +attack you have(disregarding double attack proc since that is rare to see for guillotine, and souleater is just stupid to use for guillotine with warrior sub unless its an emergency or you're sure it'll finish off the mob. The innate problems with souleater apply though, making it not too smart to use it in a WS spam party when stacked with gullotine).
So DRK has ok DoT, sub-par TP gain, and very low survivability with warrior sub. With thief sub, DRK has crap DoT, abyssmal TP gain, and decent survivability since they'll almost never take hate since they only good damage output is from SATA WS. TP gain from /thf assures that there will never be an EXP chain above 5.
Maxxthepenguin, you have yet to post anything really useful on these forums. You refuse to listen to anyone but yourself. You are a pain to have any form of an argument worth because people end up giving up in frustration.
Go away.
