the graphic for that area in wow is not too bad, but it looks like this expansion will have lots of amazing textures
ridill g.axe@_@!? probably has a base damage of like 36 or some stupid shit :|This Near Eastern two-handed axe is so exquisitely decorated with the lightweight precious metal scintillant ore, it shines even brighter than pure gold. The Amood's three blades allow its bearer to easily move and swing the weapon for repeated hits, improving upon a weakness of most axes in its class. Due to its versatility and strength, the Amood can be used effectively in all sorts of battles.
mnk JSE goThis melee gear was created for the members of the Gafrahl line, who train the Imperial family in the ways of hand-to-hand fighting. The gear's power is designed to flow between each individual part of the suit, so that the wearer can only harness the true power of Pahluwan Kazaghand by equipping every piece of the set.

those new weapons and NPC names are adapted from arabic culture...
it was very surprising to me to see those item names to come into the game ...
lets start, first, Jambiya..diffrent names in diffrent reigons..Khanger or Kahnjer..but Jambiya is a yemeni name for this style of dagger..and only arabs with yemeni dialect call it this name...this weapon is a small dagger that is worn by bedwins of some of the middle eastern countries such as (yemen, oman, and the UAE) this is part of the hertiage of some of those countries and is worn as an accessory but is not used for other purposes..
Amood, very funny name to be used for a weapon...but yet still a powerful name...it litterly means column(sp?) the coloumns used in buildings that is...i dont know about any person that used one of as part of their appeal
third, Mezraq...meaning of this name is "the penetrator"...name is arabic, colors and style is a little arabic...
but s axes were not used as far as i know in the wars in arabia..
weapons have always been swords, spears and shields..
this is as little info i can give atm, ill try to explain later after the expansion is out...
looks promising and i like what SE did with this expansion so far

-Immortal Lions-
It is said that they have forsaken the very essence of mortality in exchange for untold power...
Soulless beasts, free to act with the blessings of the Empire...
The Immortals is an organization whose sole purpose is to protect the Empress of Aht Urhgan. To ensure victory over even the most savage foes, these implacable men and women have spent long years researching a sorcerous technique with unlimited potential--the art of blue magic.
Clothed in distinctive blue-and-black jubbahs and wielding curved blades, the Immortals are feared for their ability to harness a creature’s strength and add it to their own. Let us delve into the blood-soaked history of this reviled magical practice...
-Memories of Azure Blood-
A fire to fight a fire...
A thief to catch a thief...
A beast to kill a beast...
- The Scriptures of Balrahn
Emperor Balrahn, the then ruler of Aht Urhgan, was shocked by the futility of his veteran palace guards and mages in the face of a chimera rebellion--an incident in which his son, the crown prince, was assassinated.
The alchemists responsible for creating the chimeras (organic weapons) were charged with discovering a means to defeat them. They eventually came to the conclusion that the guards themselves had to become monsters to stand a chance at victory. Without delay, the most loyal and physically sound members of the palace guard were chosen to be the subjects for monstrous experiments.
However, the initial attempts to graft beastly appendages ended in disaster. One subject’s face erupted in a mass of thrashing feelers. Another was transformed into a horrific mound of quivering flesh. Even if rejection of the transplants was somehow overcome, the subject’s blood was eventually tainted by the blood of the monster.
In a final attempt, the alchemists devised a brutal new technique utilizing the power of magic that fused the essence of a creature directly to the mortal spirit.
And thus blue magic was born.
-The Forbidden Magic-
“Blue is the color of monster’s blood, and the color of our future. Assuming we have a future...”
- From the diary of an Immortal
Blue magic is an art that allows a person to mimic the awesome powers of monsters and far exceed the normal boundaries of mortals.
However, a blue mage uses the techniques of beasts in the form of a person, placing enormous strain on his or her physical self. And while the magical process of absorbing a monster’s essence into oneself has reduced the occurrence of physical incidents, there is an increased danger of a blue mage succumbing mentally and spiritually to the beast within...
No Immortal in history has ever reached the end of his natural lifespan, and this speaks eloquently of the pain they endure despite improvements to their art. There is even talk of an Immortal who absorbed the essence of an undead creature and can no longer be released from his mortal coil...
Only those with the strength of spirit to resist the savage call of the beast within--and those willing to sacrifice a future to carry out their duty--have the necessary qualities to walk the path of the blue mage.

i'm wondering for which job that Yimit gear is for... LV70 SMN JSE?
if it's all mage jobs that would be really sweet

to have the job of SAM and act like a monk make a lot more sense than to have the job of MNK and act like a swordmaster.
swordmaster doesn't have to be SAM either, could be BLU, WAR or lolRDM.
that tells me something!Originally Posted by layoneil
they're giving monks A+ swordskill in next expansion...yay?
Looking at the MNK JSE and the Yigit Gomlek, it seems like they're taking in after the WoW trend of set bonuses. Who knows if it'll be worthwhile, but I think it's nice they're doing this as an incentive to keep us from dressing up like a fashion designer's worst nightmare. (O.hat + anything HI!)
I for one am really looking forward to this!
in one of the SS's he says how he is a MNK.Originally Posted by layoneil

would be cool if they made it retroactive to older JSE sets. 1.5x STR, WS Accuracy and Store TP if using full Hachiman set, but we all know SE would never do something like that.Originally Posted by Alexei
In that context, "wandering monk" sounds more like those chinese monks that leave their monasteries to find themselves and improve their skills, and monastery monks normally knew more than just to fight with their bare hands. The yagudo were always the "religious" type, so it makes sense (to me at least) that they'd all be monks.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
In other words, think of the term monk more of as the lifestyle they lead than as a job from FFXI.[/quote]
im lotting on next ridill just incase they give monks sword skill so i can skill up with itOriginally Posted by layoneil
i know some of the stories with monks using swords with chi power to make their attacks more powerful
i dont think they'll do that anyway...theyre focus is on the new jobs now
that text on the playonline site about the blue mage im pretty sure will be the story for the af. kinda interesting
