With each expansion or sizable patch there's usually new recipes added in. Some of these new armors we've seen screenshots of are probably dropped or traded for some kind of item but smart money says some of it will probably be crafted.
Usually there's a lot of money to be made on new items due to their exclusivity factor. People pay HQ prices for NQ results when they are first implemented. Remember how much people paid for seer's shit when it was added in?
After saying all these things, what materials do you think are currently under-utilized in your respective crafts and could possibly rise in price somewhat because of being used by new recipes (example of this: linen thread & cloth for noct/seer's, etc.).
I'm a leathercrafter, and IMO the under-utilized things leathers/skins are raptor, buffalo, manta, and manticore. The most commonly used are ram leather & sheep leather so it could probably go either way but I'm willing to bet on manta or manticore as being one of the ingredients needed for one or more of the new armor sets.
[Edit: I guess they could possibly do something with catoblepas or ovinnik leather since there's no point with it now other than skilling up or upgrading relic armor. I guess we'll see but I'd be more willing to bet on manta/manticore in leather.]
