My friend checked the trial weapons and BLU can get Black Halo and Savage Blade, COR can get Savage Blade, Evisceration and Detonator, PUP get absolutely nothing to go along with their full range of mage gear.

That's pretty weird Blu can get Black Halo when looking at the list of usable clubs amounts to just wands, They cant even use mauls like WHM can (darksteel,etc).

Pup looks incredibly weak, no knuckles/cesti, just a small assortment of claws/bahnkahs/patas. Looks like TM hooks +2 is the best they can look forward to

they get indra as well. other than that it looks like pup is mage heavy. strange...should be interesting to see how it plays.

If they're getting baghnaks then they may have access to waghs, which are nothing to sneeze at.

Wahg is the best weapon a PUP can use atm, unless they add a new high level PUP only Spiriti thing or w/e

Just looking at the stuff I have, PUP can use Indra Katars (probably their best choice), Vampiric Claws and Exocets. No Destroyers is a shame but looking at their choices of equipment it's not really surprising. Just what is PUP intended to be? Equally as confusing is COR that can wear almost no MP equipment which really does make it seem like attacking instead of curing (as in a BRD) during "downtime" is the way to go. Then I look at the bullets they can use and the highest are the level 22 ones. Odd. I'm glad I didn't toss out the Coffinmaker that's been living in my storage for over a year now too.

I think SE wanted us to try entirely new party set ups. Its far too early to tell, so we'll just have to use our imagination. BLU seems to be SE's answer to BLM dominance on magic damage. Otherwise, we get two jobs with the basic ability to do SCs, but are not meant to excell in straight forward combat. COR is a bit Bardish and PUP... we'll something like a BST that uses a tiny fellow(tank, healer, DD, ect)? The point is, they keep the possibily to SC to help out BLM/BLU and SC finishers, but didn't want another melee.

What I don't understand is, if SE can make jobs like these, why not buff up older jobs with that type of choice. DRK should be a little more like a WS-based BLU. DRG's wyverm should be a little more like PUP's puppet. Why not include the THF buff in the same update as the TP(read: THF) nerf?

I really like the look of this:

Enhances "Resist Virus" effect
Latent effect:
DMG:59 Occasionally attacks twice

If the latent effect activates in the way that I'm thinking it will activate, then this will be kickass. Joyeuse-style TP gain under 100% with low damage, then as soon as you can use WS it reverts back to high damage for the WS. Maybe this is one of SE's ways to motivate WAR to use Gaxe. Looks sweet to me. And sorry if it's already been mentioned, I haven't read the whole thread.

BTW after you install if you dont plan on continuing to play for the day, or for awhile. Load up the game until you get to the Play screen. Clicky and get a nice surpirse. Just like CoP it starts to check your files, all of them.

This takes a lot of time, so just a heads up.

my guess was the latent was when you were subbing anything but ninja. If it's truely under 100% tp this weapon is insanely good.
