Why curaga? You cant curaga other pts. Just wake up the /whm in your pt (rdm/whm or the brd/whm), and the other whm or /whm in other parties so they can wake up their people. Tada, you just maximized your waking up effeciency.

I don't care about dmg in dynamis, although I wear full dmg gear. Many people have all filters on, so who is there to show off to? Nobody resists shit in cities and bcd so thats why I wear full dmg gear. The reason I like /rdm is because mobs die so fast I often find myself spamming bliz4 and thunder4 so I'm not just sitting there with my thumb up my ass while the alliance is decimating mobs. They die so fast I rarely steal hate because youre only nuking each mob once, preferably when they're half/almost dead-ish. >_> Plus recast on stun/drain/aspir are so much sweeter with rdm. /drool

sometimes in manaburn dynamis i wish i used /rdm for the fast cast but meh i just casted early and was able to land all nukes when the /rdm's did.

That means you would have more enmity then me.

    Full dmg gear -
Demon Helm + 1 (no enmity)
    Z. Mitts (no enmity)
    Weskit (no enmity)
    mahatma slops (-4 enmity)
    af2 boots (-1 enmity)
    philomath stole (no enmity)

    elemental gear -
    af2 hat (-2 enmity)/elite beret (no enmity)
    af1 mitts (-1 enmity)
    Weskit (no enmity)
    Druids Slops (no enmity)
Nashira boots (no enmity)/af2 boots (-1 enmity)
    elemental torque

With max elemental you can have -4 enmity tops, assuming you have af2 hat. With my full dmg I have -5 and thats assuming I don't slap on af2 hat for good measure. Looks like you're doing less dmg and stealing more hate.

Kuno that gear is pretty selective. He could easily wear mahatma slops, af1 hat, and still boost his elemental magic considerably with the af1 gloves, narashima feet and elemental torque. Sure it's not optimal +ele, but it'd allow him to have more -enmity than your dmg setup.

37, differnce is all i fucking see on my ls is BLMs talking about how to do more dmg. o and i go RDM/BRD in manaburns.

He said he wears elemental gear, and so I made a comparison. He didn't say anything about wearing enmity gear.

Although for dynamis (cities) you really dont need much enmity anyway; mobs die so fast it doesn't really matter. Unless you have a terribly small group.

ok fiiiiiiiiirst of all i sold my druid's slops because i realized they were rubbish and only good for kirin, and well frankly i found it more effective to just take your chance with the mahatma

second of all i don't wear all of my elemental gear in dynamis, just enough that i wont get hate.

i'm not a very end game BLM, but i have decent stuff. i play 4 mage jobs (brd blm whm rdm) and all are decently equipped. nothing super. but i know what's good and what's not necessary.

here's my dmg gear: blm af1 hat, weskit (nq), zenith hands (nq), snow, tamas, abyssal, moldy, mahatma, rostrum, rainbow ( soon to be prism), penitents(depending), phantom tathlum, elemental torque.

my elemental gear is: black cloak, blm af1 hands, snow, tamas, abyssal, moldy, mahatma (used to be druids but sold cuz i dont really care about BLM ), rostrum, rainbow cape, elemental torque.

my dynamis gear is basically my elemental gear but with zenith hands instead lol

as you can see there's not much of a difference.
pretty gimp i suppose, but i never really invested that much time or money into BLM.

and i'm pretty sure a BLM that does a 1000 dmg nuke with -4 emnity will grab less hate than a blm that does a 1200 dmg nuke with -5 emnity.

and the fact that when we do synchronized nukes in xarcabard (i dont know if other people do it), and people go blm/rdm and wear all nuking gear and when everyone starts casting thundaga3 on the eyes and that taru blm with all hq gear and a genie weskit and /sub is definitely gonna get hate first, i don't care what you say, he's going down

The only gimp blm is an uneducated one. (not saying you're uneducated, just saying in general ^^; )

That type of setup is ok but black cloak? >_> Thats pretty gimp for nuking. You get alot more out of weskit/af1 hat if you want enmity + elemental (as well as dmg). Everything else looks good.

I'm tired and I should be doing a paper so afk. We're all winners tonight. Except for that guy that suggested going /pld. He's a retard.

As Xfaustx said, rdm often are subbing blm, drk, or even nin (and maybe pld now? lol). Erase has a 20sec recast time iirc, so if your pt gets hit with something that needs it, and you need it off NOW, having as many ppl with the spell as you can helps.

Fuck that. If it's an LSmate or close friend I can spare a charge maybe, but any more than that, and it's their problem. These things are like 200k on my server, and everyone I know that uses em already goes through them quick enough.

It's 6 INT Differnce vs WHM

O and 60-75 Tier IV nukes.

That's a fully merited BLM TT talking btw ;3
I think your numbers are off. It's been a while since I checked, I admit, but I'm fairly certain that 1 INT will never add more than 4 damage to a nuke.

And that last line makes it sound like you're the BLM, where in a later post you admit that yours is only 37.

    Adamant/Aspid
    Sky Gods
    Kirin
    Tiamat (adds)
    Jorm (adds)
    Vrtra (adds)
    Limbus
    Proto-Omega
    Proto-Ultima

    /whm:
    Ouryu

    Debatable:
Fafnir/Nidhogg (I personally go /rdm; not enough melee and too many whm or /whm to fix the few melee we have)
Dynamis-Xarca (I go /whm sometimes, slow WS blows ass)

I might be missing some events.
Just got home from driving around looking for ToAU at a ton of stores, nobody in this area has it yet

    Anyway:

/rdm @ sky gods? Nothx. Poisona, Paralyna, Silena, etc etc all very important. Although sky gods are a joke nowadays, you could probably sub nin and tank and be fine.

/rdm in dynamis? No way. You typically have a bazillion melee who are getting cursed, blinded, paralyzed, poisoned, etc every other fight. Pull your weight, sub whm and help people out. Also, curaga is a lifesaver in dynamis...sure, you say, "just cure the /whm in your party"...why can't that be you?

/rdm in limbus? Same thing. Tons of melee, tons of status effects. Sub whm and pitch in. Both of the proto fights have crippling conic status effects; I particularly remember wiping to the apollyon proto because all the blms subbed rdm and we got fucked by ailments.

/rdm for Tiamat/Jorm/Vrtra adds? Notrly. You want curaga/poisona/paralyna for Vrtra. You want blindna/viruna/etc for Tiamat. Erase/paralyna/etc for Jorm.

Really, what my POV comes down to is this: just because you specifically are not the person being afflicted with a status ailment does not mean you should slack off and let someone else fix it. Black mage is an ideal ailment curer at a lot of these fights, since /whm is already a very strong subjob, since they often have excess mana, and since their job generally has quite a bit of standing-downtime. They aren't keeping up songs or debuffs, and they aren't tasked with propping up the tank pt.

Ok good point about the paralyna, the rest isn't as important however. There are whm, brd/whm, smn/whm, rdm/whm to take care of it. Thats alot of people per 'people who should be in range' ratio.

And in those melee pts are a whm and/or a brd. I don't even see the melee alliance when my ls does dynamis. Maybe yours is different but I dont know who is afflicted with what unless my log says "____ is paralyzed". Curaging your pt first is selfish as cure is alot faster to spam. Plus your pt might not even be close together, and if its a blm probably sure as hell not (i stand wherever the fuck I want and people can attest to that).

You must have shitty whm, brd and rdms then. Never had a real problem with ailments here, especually for bosses.

Poisona/paralyna for vrtra? wtf? I'm sorry I'm too busy fighting the 2343253423 pops it makes while trying to keep MP up and waking people up. Again, waking up the brd or rdm is alot more effecient.

Blindna for tiamat? We dont have people hitting it so not really. Viruna? What are you doing next to tiamat? SMN can do it during hte 59 sec between BPs. Erase for jorm? Are BLM in the tank party in your ls? I dunno about you but for Jorm I'm 30 miles away dealing with adds. The smn can paralyna just fine again.

I think you have a shortage of whm or /whm if youre blm are taking care of it all. Either that or you have alot of melee on stuff and they all need special attention.

It takes a damn long time for 1 person whm or /whm to take care for 5 melees; subbing whm as a blm doesn't really restrict you at all and can cut that down to 4 or 3 people without much effort at all. It really helps when they're handling keeping everyone alive at the same time.

I think you guys must have an excess of mages, and a lack of melees that need to be free of ailments to function. From my experience at limbus, we always have 1-2 support, 1-2 whm, 1-2 blms, and the rest melee (hey a balanced alliance!) and trust me, I notice when the blms are /rdm because instead of helping out with status cures, they're bitching for them.

And the reason you might use blindna at tiamat is because of the antlion blind move. Melees do accidentally pop them or pull them for TP, and their conic(?) blind really fucking sucks if you're trying to TP up. Viruna is obvious; once again, just because YOU didn't get hit by it doesn't mean that one of your teammates didn't. So instead of subbing something where you're helpless in that situation with a tank of mana, sub something where you can be useful.

The thing that gets me, is you're saying "I don't need /whm" ... true, you could go as /smn or /pld or /nin and be virtually just as effective at DDing. But whm brings so much to the table, and rdm brings only fastcast. 1 second off your T4 spells and slightly shorter stun/drain/aspir timers.

Square obviously wants Puppetmaster to sub some form of a mage job considering their equipment choices, so PUP/PLD, for cures and Auto-refresh.

Because one gimp pet class meant to be a melee just wasn't enough? I'm hoping PUP the pc is more mage-like, but I'd like the automaton to be able to do anything you want it to based on the parts used.
