People actually use the menu for casting spells? O.o
lol I have almost everything macroed, anything that's not, I just type. Only time I use the magic menu for casting is when using stun to claim, cause that's fastest.
ugh..........not looking forward to this...

Is it bad that i can spend a few minutes, and reconstruct my list from heart....? lol (i dont think i left anything out lol)
Edit: Yes, i use the crap out of my spell list lol, things like Cures arent macro'ed, because i like recast times and the ability to swap through my list lol. Its something you do from day 1 that you stick with, if you dont macro everything (which i surely dont ;P)

Details on Current Known Issue (Apr. 18)
Since the implementation of the latest version update on Apr. 17, 2006, the following issues have been discovered. Solutions to these issues are now being tested. Players will be informed as soon as solutions are finalized.
The following issues have been discovered:
- Adventuring fellow would change to a different appearance upon gaining a level. This will last until the next call.
- Adventuring fellow would not move after being called.
- An issue with fixed instead of gradually increasing Hit Point recovery rate under healing mode.
- Players are unable to cast a newly learned spell. (This can be fixed by an area change or log in again.)
Due to the addition of new jobs, all sorted abilities and spells have been returned to default settings. Please manually sort them once more.
The following issue was fixed on Apr. 17, 2006 23:20(PDT):
- Talking to the NPC "Emyr" would cause blackout issues.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
I dont have room to spend three macro sets on one job.Originally Posted by Nerull
CTRL set 1-8 = my eight staves. each staff has another line for the respective obi, which I comment in or out. another line has "/echo <mpp>" for use with ugga pendant.
CTRL 9 = enmity down set
CTRL 0 = /assist for dynamis
ALT+1 = stun
ALT+2 = hMP set
ALT+3 = dark magic
ALT+4 = Enfeebling magic
ALT+5 = INT/MAB set (foregoes elemental skill for INT/MAB)
ALT+6 = elemental skill set (opposite from above)
ALT+7 = healing magic (apo staff, enmity down, MND+)
ALT+8 = equips ugga pendant
ALT+9 = equips verm cloak
ALT+0 = casts gravity (was mainly used at vrtra to gravity the summons as it was ridiculously laggy there, but I kept the macro since I use it often while soloing)
I manually select what spell I wish to cast, then I hit the corresponding ALT button, then I equip the corresponding staff and obi. If a certain spell will then knock me below 50% MP (I've memorised what spells work at what percentage), I then equip ugga pendant.
If a spell is to be used regularly, then I macro it. If I use it very infrequently, then I type it (takes maybe 1 second to type it). I only ever use the menu for job abilities on mage jobs (like elemental seal).
Personally I hate how they rearranged delivery box and mog locker ><;
Yeah i've opened my spell list like 5 times since i've owned the game... typing out spells ftwOriginally Posted by Zigma
You are a very very sick person if you actually type out your ninjutsu spells.
If you are in a situation where you have to cycle through NI elemental ninjutsu spells (and interleave utsusemi as needed), the menu is way faster, and you don't have to remember or keep track of which spell weakens mobs to which next spell if you sort them once ahead of time that way.
It's also nice because it gives you a complete real-time picture of all the spells recast timers.
Typing in this situation would really be much more cumbersome, and macros run into problems with lag vs recast, and if you need to restart a macro in the middle it's even more of a problem, plus you can't as easily keep an eye on recast timers on utsusemi etc.
The fact that SE recognized the problem, apologized and asked to sort once more the spells is at least nice in the sense that it's probably not going to happen with say every version update, maintenance etc.
PS2 keyboard lagsno typing anything quickly, especially in laggy areas :/
i wish ctrl-m only listed magic relevant to the job you're using, instead of a mass of irrelevant and unusable bullshit you have to scroll through.
the alternative filtered magic list of course is accessible by clicking on your character, clicking down, clicking magic, then selecting your job... retarded
Only use my list for unlimited shot so i dont care![]()
could be worse, could have nerfed you for real![]()
That filtered magic list is exactly what I use for 90% of spells I cast. I macro things I cast very often, like Utsusemis or Stun and things like Stoneskin/Blink. I use a gamepad for everything but typing, though.Originally Posted by hammy

My ps2 keyboard doesn't lag, but all last night the PC users i spoke with complained about having laggy key types.Originally Posted by Nirokun!
PS2 keyboard lags in some areas, or, better yet, grabs one key you hit and decides to hold it for a while. Ever see someone tyyyyyppppee like that all of a sudden? It's *not* good when suddenly you have to manually type out a spell you need immediately but don't have a macro for and you end up telling the game /ma "Stonaaaaaaaaaa" <p4>.
i've been having problems sort of like that. when i hit a spell in the magic list or a macro (not sure about JA menu) it takes about 3 seconds to respond. (this is when my receive is about 400 and no visual lag at all)
