directX patch problem

I downloaded the newest version of direct, and downloaded newest drivers for ATI card...

ffxi has worked perfectly fine for the past 2 years for me, until this patch

any ideas?

format c:
install winxp
install motherboard drivers
install graphics drivers
install directx
install ffxi+zilart+cop(+toau)
retry.

if that doesn't work.

Stop downloading porn.

go into ffconfig and select default settings. Save and exit. Open up ffconfig again and put in the settings you want. save and exit and start the game.
