Actually, I can't afford a $30 DVD-ROM drive AND a $30 DVD game. I choose the latter. Sorry, I don't sell gil to make purchases IRL.Originally Posted by NynJa

My Gamestop had yesterday, I downloaded fine, but couldn't seem to access the expansion registration page...I even tried at about 7 am before leaving for classes when I thought not a whole lot of people would be on, still no luck. It kept booting me, but no lag anywhere else on PoL or connecting. I hope it isn't like this when I get home...I wanna unlock some jobs!
Registration servers are down on purpose, read POL site.Originally Posted by Kenai
I must say:
that "ship ToAU in advance then open the expansion a few days later so everyone can get on at once" is really working out great.
Pre-ordered from Gamestop.com w/ Next Day Air.
My UPS tracking says it was shipped 4/18 and delayed twice due to adverse weather. Estimated Rescheduled Delivery is now 4/20 (uknown time) so that was a big fat freaking waste of $9.95 for Next Day Air.
"What happens if my shipment is delayed because of adverse weather conditions?
Neither GameStop.com or the shipping courier are responsible for weather related delays."
So now the question is whether to pay an additional $30 (on top of 30+10 for pre-ordered copy) to go buy one tonight after work. $70 for ToAU ftw? I'm undecided yet.
Got the xbox360 version at EB.
EB wouldnt sell me the PC version. They only had enough copies for pre-orders.
All the other stores... BB, CC, etc say it "comes out on the 20th" (despite telling them its already out), or they say they dont know when it will arrive.

Doh...I didn't know they were down yesterday too, I thought it was today only since people had been posting they were "all ready to go when it went live". Thanks, I was panicking for a bit.Originally Posted by Koyangi

At about 12:15pm I get to the mall and start lookin. Gamestop had the PC version and not PS2. They told me come back @3pm... No. I went to FYE next and didn't see it so I left. Next stop, EB Games which didn't have any and said come back @3pm... No. KMart....yea right. Somethin tells me to try FYE again so I did. I should've just asked before. They had it but it wasn't on the shelves yet. I get the 1st fresh one out the box.

FTW
I stopped by EB Games on my lunch break and I had to tell the idiot behind the counter twice what I was looking for, as if he never heard of it before.
So after looking at the shelf and not seeing it, I asked him if today's UPS shipment came in today and he said not yet, they're running late. I didn't feel like waiting around for a phantom UPS truck so I said I would stop by after work.
At that point the guy said I should have pre-ordered it, but I'm thinking in my mind why should I preorder it. Obviously he should know what game I'm looking for if people have been pre-ordering it, but I had to repeat the name of the expansion twice. When he asked me if I was looking for Chains of Promathia after all of this I just had to laugh.
Did SE not sell a lot to the stores or is FFXI just really that popular? I think it would be the first, as I've never met another person save me and my brother that plays FFXI.
Where I live there are 2 gamestops and an EBGames within a 1mile radius of eachother. I'm not joking lol, this is near the Fox River mall in wisconsin which is actually pretty big. Anyway, I go to the Gamestop that isn't located in the mall and the dude immediately turns me away, "We don't have it, and neither do the other stores. You should have preordered.".
So, I go try the little podunk used game store, he doesn't have it, but he tells me to go check EBGames, I say the dude at the gamestop told me they didn't have it, because gamestop is owned by ebgames right? Wrong.
I drive over there as sort of a last ditch effort, lo and behold they have one in stock. Lol.
So I pre-ordered mine two months ago at the EB Games in my office building. I got a phone call yesterday confirming my order would be in today. I stop down today, gave some advice to someone who bought the 360 version (do not shout offering to dance for gil, and Red Mage is the ultimate path to misery), and asked for my order. They did not have one for me. My order was in the computer, but it was supposedly lost when they changed systems from a recent merger.
I ordered it from Amazon, so I should get it in one to two weeks. Thanks EB Games, your incompetence is truly a beacon for us all. >_>
Awww...I know you wanted to play BLU too.Originally Posted by Septimus

Anyone living in the Baton Rouge area know of a place that has it in stock? I've been calling everywhere I can think of and keep getting "delayed due to fog". :/
EB in Boston had like 10 copies lol.
