So, I go try the little podunk used game store, he doesn't have it, but he tells me to go check EBGames, I say the dude at the gamestop told me they didn't have it, because gamestop is owned by ebgames right? Wrong.

I drive over there as sort of a last ditch effort, lo and behold they have one in stock. Lol.

Same exact thing happened to me. There are like 5 videogame stores within 3 miles of me lol.

So my husband (Bowden on Bahamut) works from home this morning then stops by Game Stop around 10:30 on his way in. UPS not there yet. They said they are not sure how many copies they are getting and have a preorder list for PC (on which I play, husband plays on PS2).

Guy at GS puts his name at the bottom of the list and takes his cell number. Bow then heads to Game Crazy (maybe .5 miles down the road). Nothing in yet. Not sure if they will get any copies as they didn't order any.

Bow calls me at work and asks me to call around Best Buy etc to see if they have any and he was going to check out Walmart across the street. (Guy at Best Buy is clueless!!) Bow calls me back and says Walmart had nothing and wanted to know what I found out from Best Buy. While we are talking he gets another call... hmm thinks it is the Game Stop calling!

Calls me back a few minutes later Game Stop got them in and has both PS2 and PC versions waiting for him. He immediately goes back and picks them up and then goes back by home on his way to work so they will be waiting for me to install when I get home (1 hour till till I head home!). Whoot.

just picked up my copy at EBGames after a 2+ hour wait

Some people were waiting there for over five hours. In any case it was cool to see so many people (around 20 or so) all standing around or sitting and talking about FFXI. Only problem is that none of us really knew each other in game since everyone was from a different server, but that didn't matter much anyway.

Also, only a couple people had lvl 75s. Everyone else was around 60 or below so there was not a lot of end game discussion going on

This was at Crossgates Mall in Albany, NY btw. UPS came around 2:30 PM.

i called 5 places before someone said they had them and was going to sell it to someone who didn't pre-order. should've called that one first since that's where i got CoP from, but it's the farthest one from me.

and 2 of the 4 people ahead of me on the checkout line bought it, one guy bought 2 copies and i think they only have 1 PC copy left after i got mine.

Got a call from my GameStop last night saying it would be in today. I rode my bike there on the way to work, lo and behold, it was there. Got it to work, slapped the disk in the drive. waited through the install process, got error message at 99% complete saying it couldn't finish install. Tried again, got error message again...

So I pre-ordered mine two months ago at the EB Games in my office building. I got a phone call yesterday confirming my order would be in today. I stop down today, gave some advice to someone who bought the 360 version (do not shout offering to dance for gil, and Red Mage is the ultimate path to misery), and asked for my order. They did not have one for me. My order was in the computer, but it was supposedly lost when they changed systems from a recent merger.

I ordered it from Amazon, so I should get it in one to two weeks. Thanks EB Games, your incompetence is truly a beacon for us all. >_>

Is legal action possible? I'm just asking because I would be pretty pissed off about that...an extra week is a nightmare for a lot of folks... Isn't there some kind of agreement made by the company that they have to abide by, or at least reimbursh you for? Or did they just give you your money back and say sorry?

The clerk said that they should get more copies in maybe by Friday, but by next week for sure. I was so pissed that I just got my pre-payment back and left.

I don't blame the clerk, it's not his fault that the company screwed me over, but I am not going to shop at EB Games again.

zomg someone else from NoVA. got mine at the EB in kingstowne around 1pm, installed it for my shiny new xbox, and then found out xbox users won't be able to use it until the ToAU expansion goes live tonight.

Pre-ordered from Gamestop.com w/ Next Day Air.

My UPS tracking says it was shipped 4/18 and delayed twice due to adverse weather. Estimated Rescheduled Delivery is now 4/20 (uknown time) so that was a big fat freaking waste of $9.95 for Next Day Air.

"What happens if my shipment is delayed because of adverse weather conditions?
Neither GameStop.com or the shipping courier are responsible for weather related delays."

So now the question is whether to pay an additional $30 (on top of 30+10 for pre-ordered copy) to go buy one tonight after work. $70 for ToAU ftw? I'm undecided yet.

Huh, that's weird. My shipment got 2 weather delays on it too, but it says it's on Mr. Batman UPS Guy's truck right now. I'm in upstate NY. You must just be unlucky.

So I drive to the next town that's 30 mins away to see if they have it. Didnt have any cash on me so I decided to sell my textbooks back early for some cash to pick it up and use my friends for finals (btw 42 bucks back for 250 bucks worth of books is fucking LAME).

I pull up to see that oh so glorius UPS truck infront of the Game Stop so i'm thinking "yesssssssss." I walk in to see the UPS guy set down this little shoe boxed sized package on the counter and leave and I start thinking "is that it!?" So the manager asks what I need and I ask for the expansion and he says to me "well if it's in this box, we have it. but it's pretty light so I doubt it."

Opens the box and sure enough he pulls out 4 PS2 copies of Aht Urhgan and says "well let me check the reserves and see how many are reserves and if i can sell you one."

Heart is racing, then he says those dreadful words...."4 PS2 reserves....i cant sell you one."

Then he picks one up, rings it up and says "$31.22 and would you like to reserve anything while you're here today?" and i was like OMG YES!!!

So now i'm back home and at 75% file check on my newly installed expansion disc. :D

On a side note - If you need in the Milwaukee area the Gamestop west of 181 (76th st) north on Brown Deer has 2 PS2 copies and 2 PC copies when I picked mine up 30 minutes ago.

Other Best Buys and EB Games did not have any copies whatsoever, and had gotten an email stating there was a delay.

I love you. Checked mayfair gamestop, west allis gamestop, ebgames near shorewood and some other one, two bestbuys and all ofem were either sold out or not in stock. Checked gamestops website and saw that there are 0 copies in stock (not reserved) for 200 fricken miles so I just about gave up before reading this. So yeah, thanks!
