I agree, I have never actually seen anything higher than that either which wasn't affected by a bonus. You even said your Dark magic isn't capped, which leads me to believe that you must have gotten your numbers wrong, because without being capped and having some +Dark gear, you won't hit the ceiling of the numbers very often. Post a screenshot, though, and we will shut up and bow down.

I agree, I actually do use HQ body for free-nuking on very resistant things (fafnir since i am rdm) and I do think it's a benefit. However if I had a +skill body piece I would likely use that instead.

I think magic accuracy is a gimped down version of all the skills.

1 MACC = .75 elemental, .75 Enfeebling, .75 ninjutsu, etc etc. Dont take the .75 as a factual number though please, its merely an example.

Nashira Legs have more skill than Wise legs add accuracy. (Plus the Nashira also adds that crappy amount of accuracy.)

If they added items with +20 magical accuracy, then it would probably be worth it. Or even the magical Haubergeon; +10 magical accuracy +10 magical potency. (Wait, we can't have useful mage gear.)

MACC is based on base skill.

    Think of it this way

The more skill you have pushed out (The chance of getting resisted on landing the spell) + MACC (the % increase of the chance of landing the spell, making the ratio of landing it [Take a 1:4 gravity on kirin and drop it to 1:3 with a set amount of ACC] better.) Also makes your "capable" nukes (ex. Fafnir T3 = 900 unresisted, MACC increases the ratio of it being 900 instead of 200 etc.) land more often.

I'll buy that, but would just like to know what evidence/testing lead to this conclusion

No, we can't, didn't you know, SE hates RDM and loves BLM.

And I forgot about those pants :/ in the end there's no room for Magic Acc. O well! (RDM wise)

    None.

Seriously you just have to trust people that actually use the gear as everything about this is based on "feel" when you're talking about debuffs. I'd buy Nynja's arguement as well, since I tested Wise Cap +1 vs Elite Beret and it didn't "feel" like I stuck as many debuffs with Wise. I think M.Acc is a catch-all gear designed as an economy piece to save inventory space. Hell, it's kinda "free gear" since the drops come in ENM's that you can repeat weekly for no cost.

I could cast 100 nukes on EM's with and without and parse some numbers but I'm not the one demanding proof lol, go test it yourself ;p

By magical Haubergeon, I mean a piece with corresponding magical traits. Instead of accuracy and attack, magical accuracy and magical potency.

Nashira is probably as close as we'll get, still have yet to make an overall single "osode/hauby" type piece >_<

Page 4 and the question was answered by the first response. So, when is the expansion live?

I know what you meant, I said it wrong, I would love nothing more than a body piece with enfeebling maigc +....lol nvm :3

Seriously, something with Enfeebling Magic + and something with MND + or INT+ (I'm just recalling AFv2 having MND+3 with Enfeebling magic +15) would be nice instead of raw enfeebling Magic skill +.

After reading these posts, could it be that Magic Accuracy works like this-

Lets say you cast T4 on a mob with your normal nuking gear on and its not resisted and does 800 damage.

Then you cast again on the same mob and it only does 400 damage due to resist.

Now lets say you cast again but add your Magical Accuracy gear.. you cast T4.. the mobs resists but your Magical Accuracy gear causes your spell to find the so to speak "Chink in the armor" and you do 800 damage.

So in all since this does not show up on the screen it just looks like it wasnt resisted, but really it was and thanks to your Magic Accuracy the spell landed for full damage even though it was resisted.

    Does this make sense?

I think magic accuracy would be best used for spells which the skill does not affect the strength (Edit: not to be confused with duration) of the spell.

    For example:
Sleep, Sleepga (1 minute max duration)
SleepII, SleepgaII (1 min 30 s max duration)
    Bind (? max duration)
    Silence (? max duration)
    Gravity (? max duration)

I do not know anything concrete about the m.acc to skill relationship, so I don't know which would be better if given the choice between skill and m.acc for certain spells. I just wanted to point out what spells would benefit from m.acc the most.
