    Gate Guards and Sanction

    After completing the first mission, the guard to the gate will stop ignoring you. They seem pretty much like normal Signet guards.

    You have the following options:
    I want to receive Sanction.
    I want to spend my credits.
    I have some questions...
    Nothing. Sorry to bother you.

    Sanction
    Haven't done any testing on this, but it gives you credits for killing monsters like Signet AFAIK.
    Interesting little addition, though:
    Since the Astral Candescence is currently in Al Zahbi, receiving sanction will give a small EXP bonus (haven't tested how much yet).
    You can also choose to spend 100 of your credits for a small bonus of Regen, Refresh, or an Increased meal duration (again, haven't tested this yet).

    Sadly, Saction does not stack with Signet.

    Those level 70 latent items all have the name of the new beastmen in them so I'd imagine it might be while engaged on said mobs.

    I just figured out that items that need Signet to function such as Mst. Cst. Bracelets (in areas outside Country influence) will not work with sanction.

    That is, unless Bhaflau Thickets counts as inside Windurst Control...

    Does sanction work in non-ToA areas, like if I get sanction and then go EXP on my DRK in like Gustav, will it remain active at all? Or doesnt anyone know yet

    No idea on that, since I don't really plan on leaving ToAU areas for a while, lol

    btw, I killed 2 EP spiders right outside, and ended up with 45xp from each, and a total of 8 credits. VT-IT mobs should give much more credits, so it shouldn't be too hard to keep up with points there. Also, since there are only 3 'ranks' of items currently, I can almost guarantee that new items will be added later to buy with credits.


    Still wondering about the duration and potency of the Regen/Refresh. Could you imagine if you could get the Refresh, warp to main areas, and exp a low level mage job? Even if it was 1mp/tic, it would be godly.

    Hmm after I finish up COR (almost done) and do BLU quest I guess I will warp to winudrst and exp a new job at L1 with sanction on, and see <.<

    Like Signet, the Sanction-earned Imperial Standing ("IS") is about 10% of xp earned.

    You can also earn IS from missions (you get 150IS from the first mission).

    Once someone finds a good place to merit in TAU, it'll be really easy to rack up the IS. Mog locker expansion #1 for example costs 4 Mythril -> 800 IS -> 8000 xp.

    Well the guards say something like "Travel too far outside of the boundaries of the Empire and you will lose sanction."

    I'm pretty sure he means anywhere within the Besieged map you can use sanction, but go back to the "old" Vana'diel and it wears.

    Even with Signet, region influence items do not work in ToAU areas.

    ToAU only has to do with Besieged.. Conquest has no bearing on ToAU areas.... there is no region influence lol.

    Region influence items worked in sea and Dynamis (even though Conquest doesn't play a role in either place), so it would've seemed natural for them to work in the new areas as well. Oh well. Time to do assault and get that STR/ACC neckpiece!
