Philosiphers are NINs, not Infiltrators.
has anyone tried xp'ing on Lamia Idolaters? does it work despite their 7 million HP?
Yes and yes.Originally Posted by divisortheory
When you say "yes", I assume you mean you can still chain infinite with the right party configuration?Originally Posted by aurik
Mob density is high enough and you can kill them fast enough, so yes. They've got tons of HP but take double damage from virtually everything. Y helo ther WS for 1800 followed by Light for 3900 damage.
Marids are trioable. XP/hour is in the 5k range, which isn't too shabby, but not the 10+ from imps.
Trick to making it succesful is to have one of the melee switch to the chigoe while the other melee keeps pounding on the marid.
Main draw for marid xp is the marid hair... @ 350k per hair, it makes getting less XP per hour a little more bearable![]()
What has worked: whm/blm (/rdm might be a good option for dispelling the defense boost move), nin/war, and mnk/nin
If a SMN were fighting a marid, would the chigoes aggro the SMN when the marid chases him down between summonings? Or would they pop out on the way there and next to the avatar, and just hang out to MPK whoever else runs by? Assuming the SMN gets away from their fresh avatar before the marid reaches it.
Id like to take this as a note to people reading the thread about it, if you roll into this camp with your basic group and you look out past the first group destroying puks/mamools and dont see many mobs untill you walk halfway into the main pulling area, and see 2 other PTs also destroying mobs, turn around and dont waste the other pts time or your own.Originally Posted by Chidorii
What happened to common courtesy, and not camping on top of each other. The front area can hold 3 PTS of basic people, but if you get a hardcore superpt from an endgame linkshell, dont try to push your way in and camp on top or next to them, you just look like an ass. See if there are PTs in the back, but honestly, go to another camp, youll be saving yourself a lot of trouble. There are shit tons of camps in the expansion, not just mamool.
Blue mages are worthless once silenced, do an acc song if your pulling an infiltrator, puller should watch TP and when group is solid and loaded with it, grab a wyv for a nice chained exp.
cant dispel.Originally Posted by Sigi

nono, what I was saying is RDM nor BRD nor Fenrir nor BLU can dispell this buff.Originally Posted by Sigi
What happened was that people paid $30 for an expansion, and there are 2 well known lvl 73-75 xp locations - 1 in the mire that can support 1 party, and this one that can support multiple parties. Don't be surprised if people show up and camp on you, they want to experience the content they just paid for and don't give two shits about dropping your xp/hr from 15k to 10k/hr. No one in their right mind is going to take a party out to mamool staging, take note of the 3 parties around them, and say "hey guys, lets go to sky and xp on decos." It's not going to happen, so get over it - if you don't like it, go xp someplace else or slash your wrists.Originally Posted by Sonomaa
That said, I wouldn't camp on top of people - but I can certainly understand the mentality.
ok, well they are free to do that but then they can probably consider themselves ridill magnets for lifeNo one in their right mind is going to take a party out to mamool staging, take note of the 3 parties around them, and say "hey guys, lets go to sky and xp on decos." you can always come back when there's not 3 parties already there?
I find your sig ironic.Originally Posted by Raineer

Cant really do it for the thickets, because there's people in the thickets right outside al zahbi, aswell as people in the thickets exp'ing outside staging point.Originally Posted by DrObvious
FYI: I saw a JP xp party 56-58 camping at the Leypoint for the Olduun Ring in Woodlands killing the Kolibri (sp?) birds, looking like they were making good time there. The party had a BLU/nin and a COR/nin in it.

Crawlers named "Defoliators", not bad at all to exp on, we had a better time with a PLD on these than a ninja, these seemed to slaughter our ninja when we took him, then again he was 57 and had no evasion gear. Nice exp on a well balanced party from 57-62 im guessing, PT stopped @ 60 but im sure we coulda kept going for a long while. RDM IS A MUST, crawlers buff themselves wayyyyy more than crabs do, and it's much nastier. These crawlers didnt have any new TP moves than the old crawlers.
Also, we got a link because of the smn using dispelga, off a Flytrap mob, this too was decent to exp off, so long as you have smart ranges who run the hell away, and curaga to wake people up. Very soft and they can keep the chain going if you have a burn pt, since crawlers have a old zilartian 16 minute repop timer. No idea about the plants, we only did the one. Crawlers aggro, link, and are bitches because they run over puddles and de-aggro, i'd waste up to 3 bolts per pull sometimes because of the water/deaggro.
Hm, squishy crawlers for thf eh wafik![]()
