Wow, deep in Mamook is dangerous. We were exploring tryin to find out how to do that Two Horn quest, and we killed a Mamool and got a key for an Ebony door. Went through the door, and there's IT Mamools there which are apparantly truesight since twice we were aggroed with sneak/invis on. They also aggro from very far away.

Traded the empty target a pickaxe in Mount Zhalyom or whatever it's called, and he asked for something bigger. I'm thinking like a GAxe or Warhammer of some sort but there's way too many types to bother trying them all.

Has anyone done or gotten the Olduum quest? There is an Olduum ring that will make getting to Al Zhabi pretty snappy (I'm not diggin the prospect of lots of boatrides), I'm curious if that's the reward from the quest.

Edit: The Delivering the Goods quest gives a reward of 3 Imperial Bronze coins.

Instead of making a new topic, I'll just post here even though it isn't a quest. I'm trying to synth Karakul Leather for someone and on somepage it lists the ingredients as: dark crystal, karakul skin, win. tea leaves, distilled water; this is also the standard recipe for any leather synth in Leathercraft. And when I try synthing it says it's the wrong materials. Any ideas?

Got the Olduum Ring earlier this morning, dunno if anyone posted about it yet. Will edit w/ guide later.

I'm working on the "Olduum" quest from Dkhaaya, been all over Aydeewa Subterrane, but no go on ??? anywhere in there.

Anyone have any ideas on the whereabouts of the ???.

Olduum Ring

sorry rough guide, no locs/directions for some places

Quest is given by Dkhaaya, get some pickaxes (more than likely you'll break a few so bring a good amount) and then head out Aydeewa. The area you want to be at is the same place where the BLU quest finishes. Around there are a bunch of Excavation Site points. Trade your pickaxes to those sites until you get a key item, it will say 'electro-something' with the something depending on either random chance or where you dug, doesnt matter.

Once you got your electro-thingy go give it back to Dkhaaya and he'll give you a Lightning Ring ra/ex. Head out to Wajoam Woodlands.. either around G-8 or E-8 is a platform with a Leypoint. Trade your ring to the Leypoint and it will charge the ring with lightning..and you'll recieve your Olduum Ring ^^

I'm currently stuck on The Prankster. The Elvaan NPC near the Alch guild said to meet him in Port Al Zahbi and I went there and got nothing x_x I'm thinking I might have to use an elixer there?

For the Prankster, you need to go near the docks, but not past customs... It's near the barrels and stuff to the eastern side of the block.

I'm guessing that those Promotion quests are activated with Assault progress.

The Prankster

Talk to Ahaadah to start the quest.

Go to the two barrels just down the customs ramp at I-11 of Whitegate for a CS.

Go to the walkway above the barrels and all the way to the end towards the water at I-12 for another CS.

Go to Bahflau Thickets and head to I-8. There is a ??? hidden in some bushes to the eastern side. Clicking them spawns an NM Flee which attacks really really fast but for low damage. It has an added affect that I read drained MP, but I duo'ed it as a RDM with a WAR so I never got to notice any MP being drained.

After killing the NM Flee, click the ??? again for a CS and your reward:

just found out something about "The Prankster"

to get the cutscenes by the south dock it has to be daytime. We walked all up and down tht pier during night time and didn't get any cutscenes. as soon as it hit 6:00, bingo. There it was.

EDIT: Actually, it could just be bugs or lag. There's over 600 ppl in Aht Urhgan Whitegate lagging it to hell.

Random Ring (Enchantment: Dex 1~8)

Once you've unlocked corsair quest, go back to Arrapago Reef. Go past where the ??? for corsair was on the boat, and take a right after all the plank bridges. Touch the ??? for a quick cs where that chick with the /random hax is talking to an Imp. After the cs, touch it again and the Imp will pop (easy fight). After imp is dead, touch the ???, and recieve the key item "bag of gold coins." Go back to the original starting NPC for corsair in the teahouse, and the guy who got robbed earlier will give you the Random Ring.

I was messing around tonight in Aydeewa Subterrane and I came across a cutscene which triggered by walking near a big temple-looking thing. Some JPs were nearby and they all they told me was "Map quest" in auto translator. Then said "Tsetseroon Nashmau" in AT.

I shortly thereafter got killed by chigoes. fucking hate those things.

Also, if you notice on ffxi-atlas.com on the aydeewa subterrane map, you'll see 2 ???s in that room I described above. One of the ???s is labled "Map Quest"

The Greedy Mithra no longer wants any items.
