Little late I know, but I have a pic of the ones in the tunnels under the first zone.

Sight aggro. Sorry the ones with arrows are hard to see.

We also took on a Marid, with about 4 Chigoes spawning from it.

Donno if anyone's tried here to confirm, but after being aggro'd twice, I realized you can sneak by them with Deodorize on. Was wondering why {Detects by Scent} was in translator... seems like these are the ones.

On a semi-related note, anyone notice the few mob types that had animated .zZ's coming out of their heads? Saw a few sheep, as well as Doomed type mobs, with these... No idea what it meant. Thought it might indicate a new type of aggro, but they didn't attack when I used JA.... So donno.

logically... zz's would indicate sleeping mobs?

someone mentioned this in another thread (a bst who was waiting to reraise I think), the mobs go to sleep at night

they definatley had "PLD in mind" when making these, hehe. They dont really hit hard at all, they just hit fast with extremley high accuracy. They're sleepga'able, and dont even have much HP. My 650 rampage took off approx half of his HP.

I went out searching for these buggers (no pun intended) just to see if they'd trigger a few quick shield skill ups since they attack so fast. Don't think they are high enough level though.

if you are running around exploring, can tell you, sneak, deo, and invis. The Chigoe are at the very least smell aggro that I know of. Freind and I buffed up with sneak, invis and deo to be safe and ran right thru a few nest of them and had no aggro, but then 2 other friends of ours only had sneak and invis up and ran thru a nest and got aggro'd and sadly killed. This happened to a few ppl. Yet my friend and I with deo up could run thru them and have no problems...

I got aggro with sneak+invis but not with sneak+deo+invis, i know other people that also needed deo, but i know some people that didnt.

I dont know if maybe some of us smell bad or not, but its pretty weird some people need deo and some dont. Maybe you build up chigoe over time that builds up if you kill them? Ive killed alot, so that might be a reason i need deo full time now. Maybe they smell how many i killed. They are nice for quick xp and seals tho, one quick bliz3/thun3 from my rdm usually can kill one if not close. And if i keep stoneskin/blink up i can usually get a sleepga/sleep2 off.

Or they are just gay and stupid mobs that are just there to be annoying.

True..could be like Fomor hate..the more you kill, the more chance you have at aggroing them. I do know that my freind that aggro'd them had killed a few before..so that might be it. Would make sense why some ppl dont get aggro and some do...

If thats the case its not to bad to avoid them, except for the fact they're nearly invisible. I plan on just keeping deo up full time as long as it works for me. I still am looking forward to finding a nice small group of 1-3 of these right next to a zoneline hoping they have a low respawn rate. One shotting these for the xp and seals they give is great, they are extremely annoying but my favorite mobs of expansion so far. Imps would be great too, a solid nuke can take out 1/3'd of their hp, the only bad part of them is that they seem to build a resistance to sleep after the initial. I couldnt sleep them as 75rdm/blm more than once each, lullaby worked though on one link we had.

the Marid's spawn one every time they use a TP move. Was soloing one on NIN np down to 20% but a mage showed up. Im not sure if a nin can solo a Marid the last 20% since it uses tp more frequently. Very easy for a RDM + NIN to duo tho. Save tp for Chigoe and Jin/Ten/Ku one shots them.

I wound up getting aggro from 3 of these, Sleepga'ed them...noticed something sorta odd.
I was hitting them for decent damage, but they seemed to have the 1k-1.2k or so HP given, so not something my Joyeuse was gonna one-shot.
However, two out of three of them all of a sudden just died when I was meleeing them. From like 3/4 HP, dead, with no XP, but items dropped.

From looking at the log, seemed like it was as soon as I critical hit it, they "died" like that. The last one I didn't crit once (which was odd), and it took substantially longer to kill, though still much easier than a normal EP range mob.

Anyone have a similar experience with them? Maybe you can "squish" bugs with crits >_>
