    I was fucking around with gear in Beaucidine before Dynamis the other day and managed to get some 250 point Magic Hammers without BRD assitance.

    It's got good range on it, so it might be good for IMP soloing to pull.

    The recast sucks though.

    yeah, i can't really see a good reason to use it during endgame situations, cos i'd rather just sub in MP drainkiss instead during things like dynamis

    Element, some things are resistant to Dark.

    Nukes are much easier to land and more consistent than aspir type spells.

    well it might be cos i have 8 merits in blue skill, but i hardly ever aspir less than 100 during dynamis, and in typical melee setup i've seen magic hammer only hit for the 60-90 range, which would mean only 20-50MP return

    Dynamis is double dark weather and you're probably using a dark/pluto staff.

    regular melee gear; that's swords, af body and whatnot. no INT+ from anything that i can recall.

    without the weather bonuses i'd get 90MP return, with both i'd get 125MP return, now if i used magic hammer i'd probably get penalised from it being light based meaning up to 20% less effectiveness which would result in an inefficient MP regain spell

    Did some testing on Heraldic Imps... it's a good spell for pulling, but one wouldn't want to use it in the process of fighting:

    People seem to be missing the point that Magic Hammer will give you MP wether the mob you are casting it against has MP or not. at least the description of the spells suggests a mini-spirit-taker been away since the day after update to test this. this spell would be good instead of MP drainkiss when exping in places where not enough mobs have mp to spare the point cost of the spell.
    Someone wanna try Magic Hammering non mp mobs?

    It works like Etheral(Bad example, but first thing that popped into my head).
    Damage Delt= Mp Recived. All mob needs is HP.

    Magic Hammer is light-based magic damage, though? So you can't SA with it?

    Um, no, the mobs need MP for you to get MP back. It's not a spirit taker. The Caster gobs I Was playing with stopped giving me MP back because they ran out.

    i'm pretty sure mobs need mp for it to steal the mp, used it on a bee and got nothing back but it still did 256 damage.

    So it does damage AND steals the MP? Or just converts damage done into your MP, but only if the monster has MP?

    Damage dealt = MP stolen, but only if they had the MP to steal.

    Also take into account that you must subtract 40, for the MP cost.

    its still pretty powerful imo it just needs to be buffed up through mnd setup.

    Now that we on the subject, Mind Blast has the same MND boosts as M. Hammer-- I landed it on a VT Imp, Para proc'd about 7 times... it's quite powerful.
