Blue Mage: Best thread ever

Just thought i'd throw this out there:

Blu fucking rapes Khimaira. I parsed over 15k damage twice now(once over 20k, how much HP does he have?), most recently in a fight that included 2 Sams, 2 Rngs, and 2(3?) Blms. Had to relog twice, and still ended up dieing at the end x.x; Cannonballs do 700-900 easy with CA, 500+ with SA only. Dimensional Death isnt too bad either(Kimmy is arcana, use AF head), im thinking about working that into the rotation as TA to stop taking hate so much. Only problem would be having to get in front and risking eatting a Tourbillion and becoming an mp sink. Dont know if its worth the trouble (dont want to use cannonball again for TA, would have to wait for recast cooldown giving me no time to rest for more then a tick).

By FAR the best form of damage. Not only does it do the most number wise, but its basically tp free keeping the dreadstorm spam to a minimum.

Nice. I actually picked up BLU again for TP-less(little w/e) damage, so it's nice to see it working well on a mob.

I don't have a complete parse of Khim, but Hydra has around 95,000 hp in a 20-25 minute fight. I'm not sure if they're comparable or not though. I haven't fought Khim enough to gauge its regen or HP.

BLU/THF obviously, what kind of gear, and food were you using?

I read that as it feeds khimaira less tp to kill you with.

Only had the chance to fight it blu/thf once, but yeah bring your str gear. I wasn't able to play around with setups too much since we fought it shorthanded at first.

Maybe he meant that he doesn't have to melee it, thus feeding it less TP?

Blu/Thf o'course. Tacos as food, need around 600~ defense to cap out your pDif bonus. Str gear +55, usually not lucky enough to have a brd for etudes. Can break 900-1000 per CA cast if you do.

i do blu/thf on our khim's but was a little short on gear first 2 times hopefully the next go around i'll really pwn with my newer setup, but yeah blu/thf rips him apart pretty damn bad. I can be outside of all his aoe while doing damage unless he gets a rare fulimation off.

6PClaws over 1k, highest 1181~ 30min-1hr fight? i dont recall
1PClaw in the 1xx range, the rest like 500-700 i think

i have capped pacc/patk, using af2 body/hands/feet, af1 head/legs, smn. earring, 4? summoning skill merits (lol at me idc~ love the job), was using smn. torque over sac. torque because it was my first time fighting it and i didnt want it to evade me and evoker's ring (duh ;P)

People keep saying that, but Ive never seen the proof. It doesnt really make sense either, seeing weapon crit rates dont carry to offhand/ranged weapons.

Normal Predator Claw damage for me is around 550-700ish. Highest crit I've gotten is somewhere in the 1200 range. Full Physical Attack merits, relic boots, no sacrifice torque.

It would make Jupiter's Staff the best weapon for CA closing that skill chain. Too bad it doesn't work that way.
