Jetattura pulls mad hate though. A casting time is like 4-5 seconds is definitely enough to stun AM or -GA IV.

I've see it fail quit a few times.Originally Posted by Murataki
Isn't that a gaze attack? So for kirin kiters, it's out of the question already. For straight tankers, they could try it, but your BLU may start to pull too much hate if they're also in a Flash rotation leaving you to think of ways to shed hate(Dirge, high jump) or dump it onto someone else(TA) hopefully that person is a tank.Originally Posted by Murataki
You would have to cast Jettatura at a pretty precise time to stun any spells, if the fear wears off during the middle of a casting, it won't do jack.
Oi. I don't usually get hit with Terror, so I guess my assumptions about the nature of it were off. Apologies.
mura you never came over here and kicked the shit out of me. the offer still stands. this is my way of saying hi.
Alright, question time for people like Tonko. I dont claim to be an expert on Attack vs. Defense/Vit, so this may be easily explained using standard information.
Cannonballs "attack" is modified by your defense, odl. In my typical cannonball setup with taco/cocoon, im sitting about ~660 defense.
Now, on Tiamat, I gain the most efficiency with Str Etudes from a brd. Minne does just fine boosting the damage a tad and making me a bit more consistent, but etudes are the clear cut winner. This is easily explained by saying that my cannonballs "attack" is nearly capped at ~660 vs. Tiamats defense. So far so good.
I brought this setup to Khimaira when he was released, and went with the str etudes like normal. Boosted the damage a tad.. but it wasnt as noticeable as on Tiamat. Since then ive fought him a bunch, and have been trying to maximize efficiency like ive done on Tiamat. So I decided to try out Minnes, putting me in the high 700s defense wise.

Thats not trying to show off e-peen damage, because ive eclipsed that with Azure Lore. We're talking average here, of about 850-1000 with CASA, and around 600 with only SA. Like on Tiamat, this can be rationalized by saying that ~660 defense isnt enough vs. Khimairas defense, and thats why minnes win out. Right?
Well heres why im confused. First of all, Tiamat is has less defense than khimaira? That doesnt sit right with me for some reason. But secondly, the numbers just dont add up. I dont average 900 Cannonballs on Tiamat, no way no how. Highest I can recall 2hr-less is in the 800s, more commonly in the 700s. And that includes experiementing with both etudes/minne. I just cant hit that high.
Whats the X factor here? Tiamat HAS to have less defense, thats why minnes dont have as great an effect on damage. But then why are the numbers lower?
Its making me question alot of my gear choices in confusion. Swap out the Str rings for Phalanx rings in certain situations(melees would use an attack+10 ring if it existed!)? Ditch the Voyager Sallet for something with defense?
Insight go.
Unfortunantelly I don't have the opportunity to test out my BLU in HNM situations due to my plethora of other highly desired jobs I have available to me, so any of my concepts on why this would be happening is pure conjecture.
Obviously the lolsanjutsu is boosting your damage.Originally Posted by Celeras
But on a serious note I'm not sure how monster correlation works but maybe cop wyrms have general resistance to all? Or do they follow the same pattern as wyverns? Or just to the wamoura's family type? Or maybe just cop wyrms have -dmg% (I've never really tested dmg on them). Or maybe level difference has something to do with it as well.
Anyways just throwing all possibilities i can think of.
The Monster Correlation is kicking in most likely. As stated on the VZX/Studio Globi sites, the multiplier for damage is raised 0.25 when you have a mob weak to the spell. This is interesting if so. It would mean Khimaira is also a Plantoid Type Mob as well as Arcana. I wouldn't be so surprised if I'm right, chimera are gene spliced organisms-- I could see SE giving that mob an intimidation/weakness to mobs of many types.
My advice to you would be to use your AF hat next time you go out there, to confirm the Monster Correlation effects going off. That or have a BST try and get hate from the tank, see if he gets intimidated due to Plantoid Killer, haha.
(P.S. Cannonball is a Vermin Spell; Vermin > Plantoid)
Thank yous Niro. for the corrections. >.>b
i tested cannonball vs arcana mobs and there was no difference in damage with AF helm. I tried it vs beasts and noticed a damage increase with af helm though.
Of course there will be no difference, lol. I'm saying to test it vs. Khimaira onry.Originally Posted by Lordender
It would confirm or deny Khimaira being a multi-family mob.
Or get a BST that for some reason merited Killer Instinct and has a Plantoid pet.
Good luck with that <.<
I know this is unheard of because its such a shitty piece of gear...

But Niro
Vermin > Plant > Beast
Therefore
Vermin > Beast !!
But
Vermin > Plant > Beast > Lizard
so
Beast > Lizard > Vermin
Beast > Vermin
oh noes!
Rawr @_@ I messed up, lol. I retype-- but still, my hypothesis stands. I think it be a multi-family mob, weak to many families still. If I still had a HNM LS, I'd go test on my BLU.Originally Posted by Nirokun!

Could also be the damage -% on CoP wyrms. I know they take nerfed ranged damage, but I dont think that would apply to cannonball?
Kinda surprised that nobody came in screaming "Khimmy higher defense then Tiamat? HA!" It just seemed absurd to me, cos I always thought of khimmy as squishy ;x
He probably is. :O And it wouldn't (damage -% on ranged attacks) apply to Cannonball, even though it has long range, it's calculated as a normal Physical spell.Originally Posted by Celeras
