I couldn't find this info anywhere, but does skills that aren't h2h raise the base dmg like h2h's skill forumla does? I want to know from 269 (base skill) what each increment is that I'm reaching a new base dmg increases if there are any. Thanks. I hope the question makes sense.
no, only H2H works like that.
Thanks, I had that inkling too, was just unsure.
Actually, that's how physical blue magic works. The "base damage" used when calculating damage is based on blue magic skill.Originally Posted by Priran
Yea, I thought SE said Blu skill also determines Physical blu dmg.
It does, thats not what he was asking.

Belt: Warwolf
Yup i use dusk Mask too.
Then I guess im confused about what was being asked. :-\\ I thought he was asking if blu skill raised the base dmg, similiar to H2H. My fault. It does, thats not what he was asking.
i wear this for cannonball set:Originally Posted by Mufferino

hands: alky's

need a better ear2 and legs and feet for sure **for cannonball**... but this build (plus spells depending on mob and jobs at fight, and tacos and cocoon dont forget) gives me:
+52 STR
+31 VIT
754 DEF
Cannonball setup, as requested:
main: Ifrit's Blade
offhand/sub: Genbu's Shield
ammo: JM Chakram +2
head: Homam
neck: chivalrous chain
ear1: Minuet
ear2: Loquacious
body: AF
hands: Pallas
rings: Flame/Rajas
back: Amemet +1
waist: warwolf belt
legs: Crimson
feet: Hume RSE2
after equipping spells, this puts me at about +60 STR, +35 VIT, and about 680 DEF (including Cocoon). Possible future upgrades include Galliard Trousers and a Triumph for ear2.
Ok I'll do a /full/ list
Main : ifrit
Sub : genbu
Back : Commander's cape
Ears : nothing that makes a difference
Rings : STR rings
Throwing : Chakram +1 (or if not working Bibiki Bay Shell)
rest stays the same.
Just out of curiosity, how was this tested? I tend to believe the F. roar one based on my own testing, but this is the first I've heard that terror touch is gimped significantly also.It would be nerfed to half effect the same as Terror Touch and Frightful Roar are.

doesnt certain things changr for ballista though?
Like i know that Self destruct for example, is different in ballista in that the max dmg is shared with everyone in range, and in non balista it is not shared dmg.
Self Destruct is AoE when you use it on mobs outside of ballista, it's just a small AoE range. Read the description on the spell. "Sacrifice HP to deal damage to enemies within range"
As for my Cannonball Gear
Main: Vulcan's Staff or Wing Sword (working on Wing Sword +1)
Sub: Genbu's Shield
Ammo: Bibiki Seashell
Head: Crimson Mask
Neck: Chiv. Chain (Fortitude torque sooner or later)
Ear1: Triumph Earring
Ear2: Minuet Earring (working towards another Triumph or Waetoto's (Taru RSE+2 Str, +1 Vit)
Body: AF
Hands: Taru RSE
Ring1: Flame Ring
Ring2: Flame Ring
Back: Commander's Cape
Waist: Warwolf Belt
Legs: AF (could use Crimson but I'm sure AF is better for my set up)
Feet: Taru RSE
Yes.. i know its AoE.... but in Ballista the total Dmg is Shared evenly among all enemies in range. Similar to the way 1k needles dmg is shared when a Cactaur uses it on your party. Because before you could do max dmg to every person in ballista and own them all, then SE nerfed it in Balista to spread the dmg out.
