Blue Mage: Best thread ever

Think of the damage your spells got from 1 level of BLU, which is essentially what 4 skill points equates too.

In essence, with 8 BLU merits, you're casting like a 79 BLU instead of 75. If you're not going to go all out with 8 merits, it's not worth it in my opinion.

They must have just recently broken this, as I have used CA + BA before doing a skillchain with Disseverment and the BA did not wear.

I'm not sure what that's about.

It just worked like CA. I watched someone else doing it the other night but I never got around to trying it myself. At first I thought they were just retarded but it increased the damage like CA. It's possible you could have MBd it but I have no idea on what.

Must not have been like that very long, I've done CABA before disseverment to close darknass and MB mp drainkiss many times before, and never noticed any damage boost, and BA never dissappeared when casting it. Maybe they glitched it like that during last update? idk..

It showed up in CA/BA -> SC, BA never wears after, however. So you could stack the two (BA before CA). Also, MAB raised the dmg a tad as well. Oh well... glad I capped all my merits using this glitch. >_> Waiting to log on to see how much of a dmg loss there is on Imps-- I averaged 900-1.4k on em before.

Damn, CA is such a big boost on imps. Would've been nice to know BA worked the same way, pretty much would allow me to do it every fight.

Yah, dmg pretty much dropped to normal levels. Down to 700-1000 dmg with 5/5 STR, +8 Blue Magic, and 5/5 Potency on Imps. It's till pretty big, lol.

I haven't been out to solo since last night, and my Disseverments averaged around 1k after CA -> Savage blade for Distortion with no BA active.

700-800 for normal uses of the spell.

Yeah, was using both BA and CA on them, like before (with BA coming in first). Also plopped on MAB gear like before as well, they fixed it, and my dmg is the same as if I never used BA.

Basically saying, they simply corrected BA upping the dmg within the spell when stacked with CA (I assume it was because of the poison added effect, but even with BA active, the posion never went over 16/tick). Disseverment is still as hax as ever.

Is it simply because there are more things weak to Lightning?

Its because Mind Blast is a Demon move, meaning Dragons receive the correlation bonus enhanced by your AF head. Being lightning doesnt hurt either, though. Without weather/day bonus' I maxed out at a little over 1000 with etudes on MB in Aery. Its a good spell to use there, especially considering you should already be blu/whm.

Fire Spit is from a beastman, and thereby has no corresponding correlation bonus. And yeah, fire isnt too hot to begin with.
