Actually, i find myself consistantly amazed by what BLU can sleep. I always have Sheep Song equipped as 1/2 of Auto-Regen and that spell sleeps pretty much anything that a BLM or RDM wouldn't have to blow Elemental Seal on.

    Yes. It's light based.

Blu can reliably enfeeble, and blue magic skill affects both magical and physical spells. Soporific is quite good for dynamis. It counts as sleepga1 (sleep/ga II will stack), but has the same duration as the II series(very useful). And yes, it lands consistently.

As far as "enfeeble master", theres not too much worth casting non-situationally other then sleeps/roar.

PS: I'm a melee with 75 RDM, if you like RDM, maybe forget what you just read above^^.
Unfortunately not having enfeebling merits doesn't make you a useless RDM lol... assuming you have all the right gear anyway. The above is an exaggerated version of the truth I guess.

If you have RDM 75 and don't want to ever play it, the best bet is to get rid of all your AH gear, and/or don't tell your LS you have RDM leveled.
or you could tank as rdm/nin
I've tried that already. Millions of gil spend for the proper RDM/NIN setup but I rarely get to use it due to my LS having about 10 paladins and 8 ninjas. :-/

It's a common misconception (even by blue mages) that your weapon's damage rating effects the damage of your spells. The only effect your weapon has on spells is that your skill in that weapon will be used to determine your physical accuracy. The weapon will also impart any stat enhancements it has (duh). However, the "D(amage)" component in the blue magic equations is determined only from your skill.

I know it's explained in great detail in that provided url, but many posters will skip over it and continue perpetuating this rumor.

But that might be also only the random tick some HNMs have (like gods), so I wanted to ask if someone experienced BLU Endgame as Enfeebling master (not DD). Do the Spells get resisted much or stick well, and if so for how long. What are the strongest and worthwhile Enfeebs a BLU has to offer on endgame?
Enfeebles don't land reliably, think of it like a BLM trying to enfeeble things. Yes they can sleepga a bunch of mobs and often they'll even get all of them, but often there will be some resists, where a RDM can pretty much expect to not be resisted. I've run around sheep songing and yawning in Dynamis San d'Oria with an apollo staff and AF body and accuracy merits and the numbers aren't good. Yes, I'll sleep some things, but it's rare I'll sleep everything the spell hits, and things wake up with seemingly random duration, often before the spell is castable again.

On top of that the enfeebles tend to be difficult to use, like the mob has to be facing you, the mob has to be at very close range, the enfeeble is AE so situationally you can't use it, the enfeeble is exceptionally expensive MP wise, the enfeeble is slow to cast, or has a long recast or the enfeeble has an increadibly short duration (enervation I'm looking at you) etc.

Strength wise nothing is exeptional. The slows aren't better than RDM, the paralyzes don't seem to be any stronger, and generally weaker. The gravity and bind seem to be weaker. Poison off dissevernment is stronger though, and some of the blinds like sandspray might be stonger, but are hard to test.

Short answer, if BLU had refresh, RDM still wouldn't be out of a job.

hm... I was just wondering because landing 10 chaotic eyes of 40 casts is a big random number to consider when you fight ouryu. As a note I have sleept reliable even match mobs wiht sheep song in my full könig armor when fooling around as PLD/BLU. Maybe the spell is CHR based?

With the right gear, BLMs are great sleepers.

As well, I was pulling in Dyna-Windy as BLU because our normal pullers couldn't make it and there were several times I easily slept Yags that got through the Ally with Sheep Song. Unless a mob was strong to light based sleeps I really have not seen many resists on Sheep Song, I've slept Gears, Imps, Soulfayers, Undead and all sorts of mobs pretty easily.

I'm not saying BLU is a great enfeebler but it's not too bad. It is a bit harder but when you consider a spell like Bad Breath that has 7 enfeebles in it. BLU needs more gear that has BLU Magic+ on it to really become better at enfeebles and such though. I do think given more BLU Magic skill and using the right modifiers BLU can enfeeble quite well. Although, many of the spells are a pain to use as stated above thy still can and do proc quite well. I recall a SS of Gulkeeva hitting Cerberus with Bad Breath's Paralyze and it procing like 5-6 times in the visable log.

It has potential but is not there yet.

another thing blu's do(enfeeble wise) that rdm cannot is silence magicpots when magic barrier is up, chaotic eye goes right through it and lands. I don't think it has been ninja nerfed but i remember doing it quite alot while in sky on blu.

About Chaotic Eye, it seems to have a near 0% chance of landing on Evil Eyes and Hecteyes type mobs (in my limited tests).

You realize it is a gaze type spell? As in, the mob must be facing your direction for the effect to land. I just landed chaotic eye three out of three of the times I tried on tasaijin (hecteyes nm) the other day, idk about evil eye mobs.

Does blue magic skill effect physical *accuracy*? I can only imagine it would...IF such is the case, would AF body not be better than SH? cannonball missed on me on nidhogg (WITH an accuracy build, PCC SH Potent Belt Woodsman sushi )

"What is the deal with Yawn?" as Seinfield might say. Does it overwrite sheep song? Is it equivilent to Sleepga I or II duration-wise? Or rather would Sleepga I or II overwrite it?

All blu sleeps spells have the same priority as sleep 1 or lullaby, sleep(ga)2 overwrites all three them.

Lullybye really needs it's own little priority down in the corner, all alone, where everything can overwrite it. Whats the max duration on it, "just long enough for sleepga to not land"?

    ...Wow.

Not to be a total condescending asshole, BLU physical spell accuracy is based on your equipped weapon's accuracy.
You should always be using some type of sword when you cast physical spells.

LD, that's not what he was asking.

No real way to be able to tell if BLU skill influences physical accuracy. It might, it might not, but you should be casting in AF1 for every physical spell you are casting for damage purposes.

    You sure about that?

-With 307 blue magic skill and using a 0 skill weapon like staff or h2h, physical magic has accuracy capped at 20% on EP mobs for me.

-When I tested a long time ago, I had better spell acc with scorpion harness compared to AF.

-I can land physical blue magic fine as rdm/blu on merit mobs. My rdm/blu in melee gear+sushi has better spell acc than blu main without sushi or acc bonus equipped.

I think blue skill factors into ranged magic acc; pinecone bomb, queasyshroom, etc. But it doesn't affect other physical spell acc at all, as far as I can tell.
