i've been in BG for almost 3 years now? these are my LS forums first and foremost silly

part of the idea behind his little list is for it to be changed and flamed until a point when he believes people will agree and send it, stamped with their name at the bottom, to SE's suggestion box.

all i have an issue with is the way you present your opinion to people. work on it.

and as for defending his little list: we can leave the rest of BG to scare him off (should it come to that) in typical BG fashion, but not with the tone and fanciful idea of authority that you carry.

Regarding Asuran Claw, if there's any reason I'd use, I:
1. consider it as a better slashing damage spell than VCleave
2. ready to lose some WSC to some accuracy

Personally, the higher number of hit, the less likely I set it up against higher level mob. I often find my FRip is very close to disseverment damage, main reason why is it's more often I get 3-hit FRip than 5-hit Disseverment and also the fact that FRip has higher natural attack than disseverment's.

I would truly love to see a mod's reaction to you saying they'll do whatever you want and that you have as much authority as they do. The only great power I have is the ability to apply information (both empirical and what I gain from others) to what I say and do, and that's not an authority, that's a God given ability that I bitterly lament more people don't have. Stop tossing that word around, you obviously don't know how to use it.

(backstory) the forums boasts a wide and varied community. many, MANY loyal forumgoers shifted from theorderls.com thanks to the work of Nikkei and (i believe) Ragnhild. Nikkei specifically expressed to septimus that he just couldnt become a mod and septy-ban people left and right and kill the forums and her work. BG has since opened its arms to new HNM elite(fuckers) and noobs, by separating advanced and noob discussions so young nooblets could grow in a safe environment, free from the flame-breathing "advanced" forum posters.

Ok, here's the deal.

Stop attacking each other's characters and for that matter Kenji's. Do not attack him for not being a blu as long as other people have, instead if he brings up a point like such and such spell can land on a certain mob without resist or this spell should be changed to this, attack that if it's not correct. I understand this is going to be a heated debate because people feel strongly for the jobs they like to play, but keep the debate to the content, not who says it. If you do not like Kenji's idea of making a list, simply do not get involved.

Has anyone tested conserve mp on blu spells? Is there any other factors, besides equip that gives +X conserver mp, that effects its activation rate?

The reason I ask is that I was testing coccon while waiting inbetween campaign's. All waxing cresent, water/wind/ice days, 3 spells that work for trait were equiped (chao eye, firespit, and zephry mantle).

It's a 10mp spell, the only issue I could possibly think of was that refresh could kick in at the exact same second as the spell decrease. So, possibly some of the 9mp returns could actually be 10's? But, none the less:

25/75 activation rate (9 & 10mp returns) = 33.3 activation rate
30/75 activation rate (10 returnes) = 40% activation rate

These seem pretty high for only the trait active, which is suppose to be 25%?

As for your data, on a 10 MP spell, how can you have a "10 MP return" and call that a Conserve proc?

25/75 (9 or 10mp return = 50 times; 8 or less mp return = 25)
30/75 (10mp return = 45 times; 9 or less mp return = 30)

On other job, Conserve MP saves you around 8-10% of overall MP used, assuming you cast identical type of spells.

Once the Trait is active, only gear or a higher tier trait can improve it.

I believe it works just like attack bonus and other traits.
You get 'Attack Bonus I' at level 10 DRK and level 30 WAR, but you don't have greater 'Attack Bonus I' for being WAR30/DRK10. So should be the same for Conserve MP.

Yea, it isn't. There is only one version of Conserve MP, it has no tiers, they would have been found by now. Even if it did, the only trait that BLU can gain that can be tiered is Clear Mind. Att Bonus, Def Bonus, MP Bonus, HP Bonus, Acc bonus, Eva Bonus, MAB, MDB, Store TP, Resist Sleep, and Rapid Shot only offer the first level trait. After the first trait, the only thing that improves it is equipment. CMP base activation is 25%, meaning it gives a 50-93% reduction 25% of the time. Equipment only improves activation rate. Conserve MP affects all spells you're able to cast.

It sounds like you are copying what people have already stated when testing other spells besides blu. Have you or anyone actually tested any blu spells in regards to conserve mp?? Blu is by far the most unique and untested/unknown job - it definitely does not always follow the normal rules.

I did another 50 or so tests yesterday and my average activation rate was again 40%. I know these tests are far too few to be considered "conclusive" evidence (about 150 tests showing a 40% activation rate), but... you never know.

Could be sigil bonus? Could be trait? Could be luck...

Anyways, I'll see what happens

You might be catching refresh there, 40% seems very very high. might want to try this out with a higher MP cost spell.
