    Re: Blue Mage: Job Findings

I have tried Blu at Dynamis Lord (Before I had drk), all it took was one "aoe damage/MP draining" attack to realize how useless it was, especially with that 2hr.

However my favorite spell will always be Vertical Cleave. I don't know why but mine are usually really good. lol

I posted a few pages back how Firespit, Mind Blast, and Eyes on Me's base damages can be made comparable to that of a tier III spell, so they wouldn't have to be fixed in that regard.

You know I'd actually argue for both Zerg and Nuke at or near as good as the top lvl, but I think I would get a shit storm of "omfg no that would make blu OP," so I won't. However Blu is the only job I can think of that SE could make both a top Zerger and Top nuker. Set different traits, different gear, different spells and you should get a totally different sort of creature. But I'm not goign to argue for that I'm simply goign to say I think it would be cool and leave it at that.
I wasn't saying at the same exact time, to be clear I was saying that with totally different spells traits and gear Blu should be able to.

And as far as Vc goes your right it is a "Nuke" but the mechanics behind it are totally different then those of a magical nuke.

Lets use Genbu as an example a magical nuke will do much more damage then a physical nuke would. That in a nutshell is my point about how magical blu magic and physical blu magic differ irregardless of MP use.

    Re: Blue Mage: Job Findings

Ok, i have been searching for this in the forums and haven't found anything yet.
I know this would be easy to test by roaming around wotg areas and finding the appropiate mobs, but i have yet to find a good summary.

I know the animations for the new blu spells ar ein the dats, but i have'nt fought those mobs yet so i can't figure up what animations belong to what mob WS. Basically what i'd like to know is what are the exact new BLU spells that are on the dats, and the effects they have.

Has anyone matched those yet? think we could make a good list

I'm hearing different things is it "When on their back legs" or "Only the ones upright on their back legs?"

Isn't that the same thing? Standing, they have to be standing, they can't be on their hind legs and not be upright.

Is it really called "Asuran Claw" ? I've never seen the move used, but would find it a bit weird.

God only knows, I've never fought Lobisons and they seem to be the only ones that stand (still doesn't mean it can be on its hind legs and somehow not be upright. ¬¬) I've seen decreps and gnoles do every other move, so that makes standing mode the only possibility...just wish it wasn't TOA all over again...

    Unless they change the behavior of the other gnoles (or there's some secret about them we don't know), yes, we have to fight lobisons. I tried a decrep on MNK once during the full moon. It was Hell, but it didn't stand up. I'd rather not be forced to fight VT-IT mobs during the full moon when they're at their most dangerous. Getting Asuran Claws from Lobisons sounds harder than getting Spinal Cleave and Exuviation combined. ~_~;

    Re: Blue Mage: Job Findings

Question how does Blue magic skill and main hand acc stack?

is it strait skill + acc or (Skill+Acc)/x or *x?

I was just trying to figure out how exactly SE would be able to scale multi hit spells v. HNMs and not totally make them super op on regular mobs.

Maybe do skill + acc converts to an accuracy check on HNM and a penalty when not facing impossible to gauge mobs?
    OR
Flip it and give a bonus when facing inp to gauge mobs.

I can even see something like a new ability which gives us extreme acc for 30 seconds every 10 mins working pretty well.

won't be doing the zerg log zerg like a drk might do on JOL every 5 mins but I could live with 6k+ damage every 30 seconds and being up and ready again in 10 mins. I see something like that really giving Blus the push they need to be very end game viable with out totally making them OP for everything else not endgame.

To any one who decides to make the dead horse blah blah *insert comment about this is dumb*:
There is almost nothing to talk about worthwhile that does not involve a "What do you think x thing could use a x to be better."
Also my calendar still says feburary so here to hoping.

I wonder if we'll be able to learn Asuran Claw from Alpha Gnole Anders, I finally saw the move for the first time today when he smacked me in the face with it.

It did pretty shitty dmg (double digits, and I wasn't wearing any kind of def gear), so I hope the BLU version is better.

I predict that all these new spells will be a waste of time and space. ;3

Consider yourself lucky then, ive seen SS of people taking 500-650ish. I would assumn its not the def but the evasion that saved you. Gogo missing 4-5 of the 6 hits.

I really hope there is a drastic boost to this spell during full moon to make it worth the head ache of having to track moon phase. Even then I doubt it will be breaking 1k damage. Only Disseverment(sp?) has ever done that for me and that was on colis. I have not really done anything with Fren. or Hysteric that they would get any real bonus too except for limbus but even then I didn't break 1k. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

Er, I think it's more the Gnole's stats changing during the different moon phases. I really doubt they'd have a spell completely based on the moon phase.
