Except you have to close the SC with the weapon to get the points?
Except you have to close the SC with the weapon to get the points?
You get 1 point for your Trial weapon by opening it, and get 2 points toward Asuran Claws for closing lvl1 SC and 3 points for lvl2 SC. Would imagine it would follow the same rule for other latent weapons, but I could be wrong!Originally Posted by Judai
wait, you mean break Asuran Claws..? lol
I can see SE doing some dumb shit like that.
Sorry, I am not good with words. Yes.
After the latent is broken (if there is any lol), it should increase its damage potential.
This is what have been said about Asuran Claw on KI
Anyone actually tested this on full and new moon or we're all just sitting coming up with theories while alla and KI does the work?Yea the spell is just another spot on our list, from my testing it appears as most know...
Full Moon= Slightly better damage(Still kinda blows)
New Moon= Lower casting time.(It took me by surprise when it went off almost instantly during campaign.)
So yea it lets us have counter and besides that unless theres some other trick. It's lame, lame, lame, lame.
Well, I got it during New Moon and it had a long cast time. Used it on Full Moon a few days later and it did the same shitty damage as before. didn't do extensive testing, as I'm rarely on BLU, but I kinda doubt either of those.

Nice contribution. Pretty sure the move just sucks and we'll have another spell adjustment on our hands, if we're lucky. I just wish they'd unlocked shit like Roar, Blaster, and Mortal Ray and added Boiling Blood or something instead of this dreck.
Went to help some friends get body slam and excuvation. Asuran claws is a joke a complete joke. On dahaks my highest one was 103(lol sickle slash did the hi 90's)
Went to kill some mothra's and again 120 tops damage(sickle slash actually broke 100 on them).
Tried full str set up, tried a dex/agi, str/dex, str/agi and all the same results within 20 points of damage.
Imo, its the best spell for tp building on mob.
You know, the "locked spell" idea would be a fun one, but who's the brave that would ever bother to test that such thing?![]()
No it wouldn't. Unlocking Weapons is tedious enough, we don't need something else bogged down by such a system.Originally Posted by Shassira

That's all well & good, but it costs more than 80 MP for damage that a lvl 40 spell could do for half as much while giving 1/6th the TP. Which is to say, last I checked, Mandibular Bite was 2 Set points too. Things like Diss. and Hysteric balance the TP dump out with their good damage (arguably), but this has absolutely no excuse.
What would be nice would be if they applied the same TP gain mechanics used for WSs to physical BLU spells (since that's essentially what they are), but even that wouldn't fix the horrid damage to MP ratio that's worse than most low level spells.
I agree. Maybe what i meant was "It's something SE could do to annoy us because they love putting players through grind sessions of repetition, which could give a meaning to this joke of a spell" =(Originally Posted by LD
I understand this point of view and it's possible this is actualy what was on the minds of the people that designed it (well, probably what was on their mind was something totaly unrelated to the game, or mithra in school uniforms), but the rest of the parameters of the spell don't fit correctly. The MP cost, the casting cost, etc. If anything, i'm of the though that some of our spells have way too high point costs for what they are (most 4 and 5 point spells aren't worth the actual price for the usefulness or even the combos they make), so a low point-good dmg spell with higher MP and casting time costs sounded like a reasonable trade to me. Ofcourse, it's not the case. Go figure.I think the spell is what it is no matter what. Lot of discussion going on about Asuran Claws on studio gobli now. There is more under the little message post window (button shows all comments). My Japanese isn't good enough to understand everything they're saying though. Anyone wanna take a stab at seeing if they found anything of note?
You're linking to their main page. I don't see many info on Asuran Claw on GobliOriginally Posted by liefe
eureka! the way to reach maximum potential with Asuran Claws is to sub monk! orr... not.
Already tested that as well as h2h skill changes (based on sub) and boost build up before a cast. Same effect on bastok bees, numbers ranging from 80 to 130. Doesn't matter if i cast it without sword, with sword in hand, with /blm or with /mnk, with boost or not. Same results in that regard, sadly.Originally Posted by Dohorehn
PD: Yes, i know it's a joke post, but i wasnted to point out i actualy tested it =/
I was doing 130-155 on bastok bees when I was testing with attack songs (90-135 without). Allthough they did not seem to have any effect once I tried it on harder mobs. Bumping agi/dex/mind/chr/vit+20~ points did nothing noticable as well.Originally Posted by Shassira
