You could probably add Enkidu Harness and Enkidu Mittens as you move further -->.

I have done some testing with morri vs af body. Af destroys morri sadly. blu magic plays a huge part in damage. I'm not done with capping blu skill merits only @ 6 atm but I wanted to try morri body with capped skill see if its any better.. but still guessing af will be better. i also use Shiva shotel/genbu shield combo seem to get better numbers (opposed to staff/grip) 800-1.2k on cerb and 1k-1.2k on tiamat casa cannonball higher numbers with tp
Shiva's Shotel would be crap for sa cannonball; you'd do better even with that lvl 25 sword with +1 STR. Only stats on a sword that matter are +STR, +VIT, and defense, though I don't recall any swords we get with defense other than from +VIT.
So, I've been helping a friend of mine improve his Blu bit by bit, and realised I understand little about the job.
Naturally I've helped him work on a good Str set, picked up a bit of Def, but mostly he just has a nice respectable TP/WS set and how to build them, as it is kind of my area of knowledge.
I was trying to help him distinguish between some other options for spells, and it hit me, I have NO idea about the in depth aspects of the Blu spell functions, but besides the pages, I have one key question.
I understand that Sword skill plays a role in spell Acc apparently, does Sword damage not play any part, and if not, where does the spell "base damage" come from?
Spell Base Damage is based upon a function of Blue Magic Skill (which also is a function of attack as well).

Ah, kind of like hth then, so I should push him to cap Blu magic merits asap instead of mixing them up buying up cheaper ones as he can.
Added Enkidu's stuff.
I was thinking about adding additional spells to the list which could be added to the spell pool when you merit Assimilation (+5 additional spell points maximum), but I think that meriting Enchainment is way better for Cannonball (+50 free TP).
However if you already have some merits in Assimilation - for 5 additional points you can set extra:
- 1000 Needles (VIT+3, 5 points)
- Pinecone Bomb (STR+1, 2 points) + Screwdriver (VIT+1 CHR+1 HP+10, 3 points)
Why don't you have Cassie earring anywhere on there?
Denali Wristbands add the same +STR as Enkidu Mittens.
So i was thinking about the ideal multi hit gear set up and this is what i could come up with if anyone has any suggestions for it:
main: perdu 5acc latent
sub:
ammo:
=5 acc
head:morrigans 5acc 4 str
neck: PCC 10 acc
ear1: suppa 5 sword skill (4.5 acc)
ear2: triumph 2 str
=14.5 acc 6 str
body: Enkidu's Harness DEF:50 STR+5 AGI+5 Accuracy+10 Attack+10 Evasion+5 "Subtle Blow"+5
hands:Enkidu's Mittens DEF:24 STR+4 DEX+4 Accuracy+5 Ranged Accuracy+5 "Subtle Blow"+2 (znm)
ring1: raja 5 str 5 dex 5 store tp 5 suble blow
ring2: woodsman 5 acc
= 20acc 14 str 9 dex
back: Cuchulain's Mantle DEF:8 STR+4 DEX+4 Accuracy+5
waist: potent belt 8 acc 3 str
legs: Enkidu's Subligar DEF:40 STR+4 DEX+4 "Store TP"+5 "Subtle Blow"+5
feet: Denali 5acc 3 str
=18 acc 14 str 8 dex
puts this at at total of:
52.5 acc+5 latent (add in 10 with acc trait so 62.5 acc then)
34 str
17 dex
Always use AF body for multi hit
Depending whether you need more accuracy or not:
Head can be Voyager Sallet
Neck you can pick Kubira Bead Necklace
Ring you can pick Flame Ring
Waist you can pick Warwolf Belt
Remember physical blue magic have innate accuracy bonus for about ~30 accuracy (different from each spell too?).
30? Really? I mean, it sounds probable (an acc bonus, I mean), but 30 seems like a bit more than we seem to get in practice. At the very least, it's probably as you say, different for each spell, like the BLU skill attack mods.
meh losing a hit on a multi hit is less dmg then any str you can get for most ws so i treat them like that. Though if you don't mind me asking mind citing the source for the innate acc bonus on blue spells so i could cheack it out myself? Last i knew that was only during ca if they had that as part of there ca bonus.
edit: also thats the build i'm trying for to use with either sushi or meat. my current build for multi hits ill get 500 averages in limbus with meat but it lacks str/dex on it so started to relook at my multi hit build to get more str/dex into it while maintaining a high acc amount to use meats.
iirc the acc test was in this thread comparing sword acc to spell acc.
Yeah i remember reading something like that a long time ago. But some test ive done (with sa spells) showed me that non ca spells benifit a lot more from acc/str body pieces then af body. Still if your not caped acc the more hits to a ws(spell in this case) the less average dmg you'll yield over time. (.95^5=63% chance to land all hits.) I'm not saying your wrong but id rather take some dmg potential loss to increase my overall dmg per multi hit spell as best i can. those suggested changes you said would yield:
+15 dex +11 str -38 acc (pre dex conversion and these include af body).
Since I believe spells' damage rating caps out 15 levels after the spell is learned, a spell like Death Scissors (learned at 60, so 60+15=75) would benefit more from a higher STR body than +blue skill. The same could be true for Frenetic Rip once you get merits (although, the acc from the skill might still make the AF body the better choice for many situations).
I thought Studio Gobi (sp?) hadn't found a D cap for lvl 60+ spells.
but doing the math of morrigan's v. AF yields for Death Scissors:
(D + WSC + fSTR)
AF
3.12 + 1.8 +.75 = 5.67
Morrigan's
0 + 4.8 + 2 = 6.8
Also factoring out constants you get
WSC(AF) + 2.87 vs. WSC(Morrigans)
whichever is higher is better bet (according to math). But remember there is also the hidden value of skill corresponding to attack.
(Also, I know there are floors here that depend on variables for each mob, but, this is just objectively in general)
well like i said imperical testing i did on gods on sa/casa with both morrigans and af body showed during casa af was better but on sa morrigans was better. If i can get some free time and a helper ill do some test comparing the two again on marids . I'll try to get at least 10 of each (sa mor 10 sa af 10, casa af 10 casa morr 10) and post results (with relevant stats/merits etc) once i'm done.
imperial testing?
I understand that we are Immortals and all, but what?
Empirical testing! Imperial testing is how lamia were created lol
