Your post is fucked in default, made this post will fix it. Or make it worse.... ~_~;
Anyway, BLM potency merits basically act like an element specific MAB, right? Is MAB also written as 'Magic Attack Bonus' in JP?
At any rate, it obvious at this point that it doesn't act like BLM potency, so even if the wording is similar...
Well that seemed to fix it, for now...
Anyway, if the wording is the same as blm potency merits, there isn't much reason to believe it would just be +10 to the attack function. More likely I think, it's just supposed to work exactly like the blm merits, and it's just broken. Someone should really ask at an interview...
I wonder if physical potency used to work for disseverment, back when you could affect it with BA?
Yes, but since it obviously doesn't work like BLM potency, that doesn't necessarily mean it's broken.
A couple of months back, there was a problem with SA, it got fixed pretty fast. But ever since then, I noticed SA seemed to miss inexplainably some times. After a few rages (me, not the mob) when doing ZNMs with friends, I noticed it happened when I had my back towards the mob, and that SA hit as normal when I was facing the mob.
Did a tiny bit of testing on too weak orcs omw to KS99 behe today (yes, I work slow), and that seemed to confirm my suspicion that you have to face the mob for SA to work on blu spells.
I know for a fact that it wasn't like this before the SA problem a couple of months back, and I was wondering if any of you had experienced the same, and if you know more about it. Like, if this is intentional by SE, or a bug/sideeffect of the fix to SA. And how did they break SA in the first place anyway, were they trying to do what they ended up doing to blu spells?![]()
I noticed the same thing a month or two ago on Ixion. At first I thought it was a terrain thing or something, like maybe I was too far down a slope where we were fighting it, but it happened in a couple more fights later, and stopped when I always made sure to face that way. I never did test it on other mobs like you did, though.
hmm I have noticed this too, and I always thought it was the terrain messing me up. My LS is always making fun of me for randomly missing SA cannonballs too lol. I never thought that this might have changed, since facing backwards definitely USED to work.
This would explain why I was missing 75% of my SA Cannonballs on JoFaith last night.
Um, it was like this before the SA screwup.
Back when I was 60ish BLU (no clue on time, 2 years ago?), right after getting Death Scissors, was when I noticed you had to be facing the mob for SA+spell to work. Unless it later got changed and now was put back, it's always been like that.
I have a question (spurred by another thread), that's probably somewhere in here, although I haven't read the entire thread. So sorry if this has been asked, but should I put a delay in spells that have .5 second cast? Like, can I just have
/equip head "item"
/equip body "Magus Jubbah"
/ma "Spell" <t>
or due to lag will the equipment changes not take effect immediately, thus making it so I should put a /wait .5 or something inbetween them? As much as I'd hate spells having a delay due to needing a /wait, if I need to do that in order to benefit from gear swaps then I will.
Having your back towards the mob definatly used to work, I did it like that all the time. So if you're right, and you had to face it 2 years ago too, then this must be the second time it's been changed.
Is this something that should be reported to SE as a bug report? I just wanna know if it's intentional or not. <.<
Gear swaps work with abilities with no /wait in between, and abilities are instant, so my guess is you don't need /wait for spells either.Originally Posted by Waef
I noticed this on a recent Kirin. I was probably going about 50/50 on landing Cannonball on it. It was frustrating enough that I warped after the first fight and swapped to BLM for the remainder, for more consistant damage. :-/
Anything ever get confirmed off this section of the vzx page (http://www.freewebs.com/vzx-01/blumag.htm):
・D reference:
Skill 276 -> D63
Skill 282 -> D65 *Unconfirmed*
Skill 291 -> D67
Skill 300 -> D69 *Investigating*
Skill 310 -> D71 *Impossible to confirm now*
Skill 319 -> D73 *Impossible to confirm now*
Skill 328 -> D75 *Impossible to confirm now*
The "unconfirmed" and "investigating" sections? If that scale is right, if they add a 15 skill piece in AF2 or either set of +1's that would bring max skill from 307 to 322, so from D69 to D73, which would be a pretty significant jump.
(Well, max now is 310, with Ksi Sash in Salvage, so that D rating could be tested as well)
Yes they got confirmed
I tested that when blue magic skill = 307, spells above 60 have D=69
I hope Jubbah+1 will give skill+18 :/
Or they could throw in a <Blue Torque> amongst random extra items in the update.
A +15 non-body AF2 + a 7 skill torque...329 skill...
