Blue Mage: Best thread ever

Some spells are noticiably less accurate than others no matter how good your m.acc setup is.
I occasionally duo/trio Cactrot Rapido as BLU for the TP reduction spells and Light of Penance gets resisted something like 75% of the time(do cactuars resist light?) while Feather Tickle and Lowing regularly land.

Lowing if unresisted lasts pretty long, definitely more than Enervation; I would say around 60s.
Have yet to try it on Salvages bosses though, that sure would be nice if it lands.

My setup is:

Main: Staff
Sub: Bugard+1
Ammo: Phantom
Head: AF2
Neck: nothing worth mentioning, hope they add some non-56k IS worth m.acc neck piece...
Earrings: Loq/Magnetic
Body: AF1
Hands: Morrigan
Rings: Balhran's/Tamas(no Omega yet)
Back: AF2
Waist: Penitent's
Legs: AF2
Feet: Denali

I haven't really noticed a difference using a Magical Accuracy build from eyeballing, but I use one just in case. Missing a few slots of with potential Magic Acc though.

Yar, I be the lazyman's BLU in Dynamis. Usually shit dies too fucking fast-- by the time I engage the mob, I can't do shit. So rather than idly running about, I sub SAM, stack on all my BLU DD spell gear (mostly STR), load up on STR spells + Vertical Cleave, then Meditate -> Spam Vertical Cleave on everything. Usually Cleaves land on everything for about 800~1500 dmg with CA (400~800 without), and mirrors Darkness for the same amount if I happen to chance it after Asuran Fists from random MNK.

When we fight a THF or a PLD that has 2hred, the same gear doubles as a mini-Heat Breath build; HB lands unresisted for 700 dmg a pop usually, knocking off whatever HP the mob has left. Then I set Actinic Burst for the odd MNK and NIN mob.

It's fun shit lol.

I'm not gonna even begin to pick this apart......but go back....read....then check your skillchain chart......now go outside with a MNK and VC after Asuran Fists.

Ehh? Must have been SAM and Tachi: Gekko instead. The main premise is to show that BLU/SAM works well in Dynamis for me, not a random Darkness SC I happened to forget who opened at that moment. Now shut the fuck up.

BLU/SAM is a joke.....looks kinda nice with that meditate (every 3 min) but in all honesty you're better off building TP as /nin - /thf for SATA or even /blm /rdm (/mnk for xarc) and just nuke. What you're doing is totally a waste of space in dynamis.... gogo Seiga Third Eye 700 dmg Heat Breath lol

Well if you guys are taking out mobs as fast as you claim, then it would be better to sub NIN for damage mitigation. You can still spam Vertical Cleave and DD just as you would with SAM. The only reason to sub SAM would be if you're lacking TP by the time CA is up. However, since your group flies by the mobs quickly, it wouldn't make any sense to attempt a self-skillchain since it would be interrupted anyways. I can understand that having the extra TP from meditate would boost your Vertical Cleave damage if you don't WS, but I think that mitigating damage and using Vorpal Blade + Vertical Cleave would be better in the situation you described

Could just Expiation - VC for your own Darkness and get a dmg boost..(since we know how you love to follow that Asuran Fists so much) then use Eyes on Me or Firespit for a 1k+ nuke for less mp rather than just the 700 dmg from a high cost Heat Breath
