No TP, 2HR, SATACA, Minne 2x - ~1.85k Cannonball Damage

No TP, 2HR, SATACA - Also ~1.85k Cannonball damage

    Both on Proto-Omega. What gives?

Edit: Debuffs were the same on both

Iirc, Omega has this -%damage when it's on low heath. My best cannonballs were always when it got up on 2 feet before 50-40%. They are 2k-2.2k if you are wondering. /epeen

I was wondering why is the with the Minne buffs the same as without the Minne buffs. Shouldn't there have been a decrease in damage without the Minne? Both were with Omega on 2 Legs as well.

Minne is def, and like attack does on Weapon Skills, on Cannonball helps to reach the cap dmg. When you push up 2h, most of times you reach that cap, thats why you do same dmg with or without minne, it happened to me many times now, and when im up to 2H, i tend to ask brd STR+VIT instead~

So Minne w/o 2hr and STR/VIT with 2hr got it.

Edit: Since that's the case, would it be better to use Vulcan's staff when using 2hr as opposed to Sword/Shield?

If you can melee, use sword/shield; If not, Vulcan's Staff/Axe Grip. I think that's a pretty easy rule to follow.

EDIT: didn't see the 2hr case.
For 2hr... I think if you got a lot of TP on sword/shield, you could just fire away with sword/shield; But if you have 30 TP or lower, you can change to staff/grip mode.

Not at all, every Cannonball is crit with SA, then where's the defense mod?

    ....You're thick.

    Cannonball's att is def, SA = pdif+1.
Since the only difference between the two is the lack of minne, it's easy to assume that he simply maxed pdif with SA or it pushed it to a point where the additional def was meaningless. In either case, the SA is most likely the cause of the high DMG along with the consistency, since the D bonuses from AL & CA wouldn't have done much without good pdif.

I've done some poking around and haven't found any info on how much Feather Tickle and Light of Penance reduce TP by. Is it all TP, is it a portion, is it subject to resist? Anyone done any testing with it, or have any relevant info? Perhaps thought on how to go about testing the TP reduction?

Amount of TP reduced is subject to resists.

It's a portion of TP, and both are subject to resists (esp. LoP if it's not face-to-face). I mildy tested both when I first got the spell; it was about 30~60% TP reduction. Haven't used it more than enough to test @ 75, however.

If I were you, I'd go to Ballista/Brenner and test it with a SAM or a DNC with No Foot Rise. I'd like to believe it wouldn't be spells they'd nerf for those events.

Without AL, having minne up or not is a HUGE difference on most HNMs, at least for me so far. So, what push isnt SA, since like i said every freackin Cannonball is with SA, but Azure Lore.
Otherwise like you saying, minne isnt needed cuz SA already maxes pdif on most things. That is not.

Yes, but with just AL, you never see a damage increase like that and it's been pretty much settled it mainly affects the D multiplier (much like the BLU skill = acc argument, even if it does affect the def/att mob, it isn't significant enough to ignore the more obviously potent factor.). Meaning the only thing that could have maxed it is SA.

Has anyone yet determined exactly how Blue Magic Skill and defense play in the pDIF calculation for cannonball? I would assume the attack value is some combination of the two of those, anyone have a good idea on how to test this?

Maybe I'm reiterating stuff what I have said a hundred page ago:
I didn't test it, but I found it that each spell has their own attack coefficient.

I didn't cap sprout smack, head butt pDIF on Kuftal Robber Crab, but I could cap pDIF on Uppercut and Sickle Slash.
Also just from the experience using the spells, Frenetic Rip have higher attack coefficient than Disseverment. You can see this if you try to spam spells on Nyzul Boss floor or some FL assaults, If Disseverment damage is crap, most likely Frenetic rip can put better number.

I haven't done any end game with BLU except Nyzul, but which spell is generally more useful and does more damage consistently? Mind Blast or EoM?

SA + Cannonball or Vertical Cleave for everything, magical spells aren't generally worth the mp.
Mind Blast has an higher base damage than Eyes on Me, so you will probably see bigger numbers (but you want to BA and Magic Burst it), but the latter is the only Dark element nuke in game, seems to seldom get resisted.

Edit: forgot about breath attacks: where applicable Heat/Frost/Radiant Breath with a solid HP setup can put out decent numbers.

So, now that a Tizona has been completed and preliminary testing done, what's everyone's thoughts?

Just to save the trouble of having to read the Mythic weapon post, the drain seems to be about 10-20 mp and procs about 10% of the time, and only on melee strikes, not on spells. Worked out over time, it's about 3mp/tic (which will vary according to your haste, of course).

Personally, I'm disappointed that SE failed this much, the weapon had such potential. At the same time, since I always plan for SE to fail, this is almost exactly the kind of procs I expected this weapon to have.
