From data mine thread, from Pririan,
Acrid Stream: Deals water damage to enemies within a fan-shaped area originating from the caster. Additional effect: Lowers target's magic defense.
Blazing Bound: Deals fire damage to an enemy.
Plenilune Embrace: Restores target party member's HP and enhances attack and magic attack..
Demoralizing Roar: Weakens the attack of enemies within range.
Cimicine Discharge: Reduces the attack speed of enemies within range.
Animating Wail: Increases attack speed. (oh no)
Battery Charge: Gradually restores MP.
Leafstorm: Deals wind damage to enemies within area of effect.
Regeneration: Gradually restores HP.
Battery charge refresh?
If these spells and the new Sanguine Blade ws don't suck every single BLU flaw has just been removed in one update.
It sounds too good to be true but who knows...
As far as I know, Multi-hit spells still give TP for each hit, most of our magical spells still suck/cost too much MP, and Azure Lore is still a glorified ES.
So...yeah. -_-
If Battery Charge is the same amount of refresh or less, it's not really a game changer unless it stacks with normal refresh.
I wouldn't go as far as to say all our flaws, but we got some nice goodies here. Refresh? I really wish they would go back and work on our magical spells though. Spells like Bad breath and 1k needles that were a staple spell for BLU in past ff's are so useless in this one...
Haha, always knew that bastard Battery Charge was a Refresh type. Stupid pots never ran out of MP.
Yeah, just seemed odd to use a TP move that just gives such a minimal amount of MP lol. Although I would think someone would have known by now if they stole it with aura steal.
Don't get me wrong; native refresh, even a potentially weak one that we can't cast on anyone else, is a big bonus. I'm just saying BLU still has some fairly significant problems and these spells have to be better than we expect to actually improve the job.
That's actually a good point. If that's true, that might mean BC is stackable with normal refresh...
if its stackable its probably 1mp/tic or short duration or high recast.
I imagine it'll be like Refueling is to Haste. 2mp/tick and lasts 5 minutes.
Still, I wonder if this or Animating Wail will stack with refresh/haste.
Possibility that Animating Wail + Refueling = Dual Wield?
Battery Charge + Diffusion = AoE Refresh = Win? It's gotta be self-cast. At most you can do it every 10 minutes (IF you cap diffusion, I only put 1 merit into it), but that'd be pretty sick even on a 20 minute timer. Wonder how much MP it restores, how long it lasts.
For things besides spells:
There was some handpiece that gave STR-4 DEX+4 AGI-4 and +5 Blue magic skill, or something similar. That's fail. There was a neckpiece that gives +4 Sword skill and +4 blue magic skill. And there's this gem:
Goading Belt Rare Exclusive
Waist
Haste+5% "Store TP"+5 Enmity+3
Lv77 WAR, MNK, WHM, BLM, RDM, THF, PLD, DRK, BST, BRD, RNG, SAM, NIN, DRG, SMN, BLU, COR, PUP, DNC, SCH,
Fuck getting a v-belt. Gimme this baby. Sure, one less haste, but it's better than swift belt, and gives store TP+5. The enmity doesn't matter.
Diffusion will always be too situational to be useful. Unless they lower the recast on it, I'm not interested.
If battery charge is refresh, keep in mind that it might have tiers of refresh based on say, int or more likely blue magic skill. It would make sense this way if it was say, a level 50 spell, and started at 2 mp a tic refresh but could be increased to several mp a tic with good blue magic skill.
Actually really looking forward to Plenilune Embrace the wording makes it sound like its AoE without needing diffusion and if it doesnt cost a shit ton of points and its a decent cure/att could be a very nice spelll. Not to mention with the lvl increase we may get more spell points so it wouldnt be a waste of points
Not sure what you're getting at here. Enhancing skill doesn't affect Refresh's potency. I'm not saying it definitely won't affect the potency, but seeing as it's supposedly a Refresh type effect for us, I highly doubt it will.
I'm actually kind of worried that this spell coupled with AoE haste might push us to the back lines... People will want us to buff them with this all the time for the attack boost. As BLU/RDM with our own self Refresh, this new cure spell that boosts attack, and AoE haste, we seem like a really good main healer candidate, unfortunately. I dunno about you, but I leveled Blue Mage, not White Mage. It's not really like RDM or SMN where the job was always sort of a healer role in EXP parties, so this is kind of unnerving to me. I don't see why SE didn't just make that spell self-target only. But what's worse is that it almost reads like you can't even use it on yourself. But I wonder what kind of enmity it'll generate...
