its quite easy, the weapons drop off the mobs and you only win the bcnm when you kill them all. enter -> kill as many as you can -> hold last one -> exit lol

could I go rng/smn and summon ifrit and still get the critical hit bonus? lol
Hmm, so that means there's really no point doing the last/hard part of the fight; killing the 5 carbys (carby's pole sucks ok lol?). It's weird though, when I did this quest when it was release we lost the fight 3 times before winning and we didn't a SINGLE weapon and we prob killed 20-25 avatars. This will help alot though, thanks for sharing!Originally Posted by Skold_07

That doesn't seem to make any sense to me. Are you saying that the weapons drop during the BC? When I did it the weapons dropped after the BC ended (we killed the 5 carbies).Originally Posted by Moochi
Edit: To clarify... are you saying that the weapons are dropping prior to the BC being over, but the treasure pool only appears when people are no longer in it?
I was just going off what Skold said. When I did this we got nothing so I wouldn't know. But if you said they are dropped once you beat the last avatar this is impossible then. Although, reading through the old thread it's suggested you could beat it and have one person exit before you defeat the last avatar and then enter again since that person didn't complete the quest.Originally Posted by nivlakian
DIAMONDHIDE TEST
Ok me and Battosi tested Diamondhide today. We tried if MND matters and if lvl/blu skill matters. I'm 72 and he's 75.
First I casted it:
Absorbed 175 dmg twice.
Then Battosi casted w/o MND gear.
Absorbed 184 dmg.
And lastly Battosi tried with having about +20MND on.
Same results as w/o MND gear.
Conclusion: Either Blue magic skill OR lvl matters. He had exactly 15 blue magic skill more then me. If that's the case we're looking at like 0.5625 dmg absorbed per blue magic skill.
Battosi also says he thinks his Shadow Mantle could have proc'd when he said it was prob 300HP absorbed or so. 8)
184? So it's barely more than half of a normal stoneskin. It's not even as good as Titan's is it?
Might want to try testing with VIT, CHR, staves etc.
Didn't have time to test all that cause TIAMAT POP!Originally Posted by FFXIFlux
It's seems pretty good to me. There's no blu skill gear AT ALL atm. And this is w/o merits.
Think I'll keep my enfeebling merits. They work on RDM, WHM and BLM. Blue magic skill doesn't even seem to work on half the BLU spells. The question is... club merits, or sword? lolOriginally Posted by Moochi
Titan's stoneskin is supposed to be 2xSMN Lv + 50 or something like that meaning at 75 it's 200 dmg absorbed. So, judging by the tests so far, Titan's stoneskin is stronger. That may change though if a modifier other than skill can be found.Originally Posted by FFXIFlux
Wasn't this changed in the last patch? Summoning skill is suppose to matter now too apparently.Originally Posted by nivlakian
Nope, summoning skill still does nothing. I'm surprised the tests show such little damage being absorbed, mine always seemed to do more than that.Originally Posted by Moochi
That update hasn't yet happened.Originally Posted by Moochi
Well, I had a thought. I could be wrong but since so many of the BLU spells are based off a % of your max HP (breaths, etc) and this stoneskin gives a lot more damage absorbtion on the actual monsters, perhaps it too is based off a % of the caster's max HP?
I have diamondhide and I'll test it when I get a chance but one of you 75ers with lots of free time should do it first!![]()
We did that in a sense already. The first SS is when we had full HP when we tested diamondhide, the 2nd SS we had w/e HP we ended up with after 2nd 1k needles. Just don't expect our spells to be equivilant to that of the mobs, it is always weaker from my experience.
Er, I meant as a factor of max HP, not current HP.
IE, maybe one person can put on lots of HP-,MP+ gear and the other lots of HP+,MP- and test results, etc.
Where did you read about this? Havn't heard about it but I'd like to know more.Originally Posted by liefe
Well, you can test it...things like Radiant Breath,Bad Breath,Frost Breath, etc do damage based on your -current- HP(think Spirits Within with an element/skill resist check). They are breath damage (someone once posted a pic of a breath move doing damage to a barrier'd pot). This is the reason why these moves rape from the BLU npcs and do lowish damage for BLU mains.
Anyhow...
There are 2 ways moves that are based on HP work.
1) By a % of your current HP.
2) By a % of your -max- HP.
What I believe could be the case is that diamondhide might be based on is the max HP of the caster. The reasons for this is the obvious difference in damage absorbtion from the troll enemies (since non-blu trolls likely have 0 blue magic skill) and the fact that even if the troll is at 1% HP but uses Diamondhide that it still has the same level of effect. I dunno, it's a guess. I'm in a party now but I might try later if I can sucker someone into testing.
The real question is..how does one make a Qutrub use Spinal Cleave?![]()
