Onzozo is definitely the best. It only took me maybe 2 hrs (mostly AFK) to complete the trial there.

I'm working on;

OA3 right now (last trial, wamouras)
DEX Shamshir (working on qutrubs now)

After I finish my DEX Shamshir I'll probably get a STR Shamshir

My logic is as follows;

Main hand Shamshir(DEX) offhand Koggel where I'm relying on Disseverment/Fren

Main hand Shamshir(STR) offhand Koggel when I'm relying on EX->Vertical Cleave

Main hand Shamshir(DEX) offhand OA3 when I don't want to rely on spells or Sanguine spam. (Maybe use perdu?/OA3 i dunno)

Feel free to rip me up (keep in mind i have RDM) but I see a use for all 3 of these weapons. Especially since we can either set DA trait and use Shamshirs, or save the set points and offhand the 2-3 hit.

Either way it looks like Perdu is getting retired

I think you might be overestimating how much accuracy you need. STR does more for nearly every physical spell than DEX, and if your accuracy is capped...well, it's not doing anything for you and that +attack from the STR sword, plus the fSTR boost, will do more for your melee.


That said, the DEX sword is useful to have, as it is an excellent place to get more accuracy when you need it.

Well I want the DEX+Acc sword for my multi-hit spell to increase my acc. I really feel I'm quite low on Acc

My current gear is as follows;

Head:Voyager
Neck:Spike Neck
Lear: Minuet ear
Rear: Triumph
Body: Jubbah+1
Hands: Creek M
Lring: Augmented Ruby STR4 DEX3
Rring: Rajas
Back: Commanders Cape
Waist: Virtuoso (With shamshir I'd like to swap this back to Warwolf)
Legs: Enkidu
Feed: Denali

You really feel with my set up+sole sushi is enough acc for most situations?

I'm asking, not being sarcastic or anything. I always thought I would need more acc to make sure all 5 hits land on Disseverment for example. God I wish it gave a tp return or something....

Anywho, has anyone actually done some testing with Acrid Stream/Blazing Bound and gotten any good numbers out of it?

Lastly, the main turnoff on the STR sword is that 200flan trial from hell ._.

throw out pinecone bomb and battery charge and bomb toss
put in blazing bound and animaiting wail for DW trait and 2 vIT
Now 2 x +6 str shamshirs.
You gave up 3 STR from spells for 4STR on swords (12 vs 5staff3grip) and 2 more vit on spells and you can actually melee with 2 very good swords for TP for chain affinity.

and even if you cant melee thats still 1 str and 2 vit more

Now about BLU tanking:

for Sanguine Blade its possible to have static dmg of 1000+ on sanguine blade inside abbysea(probably close to 1200 with memento and 1300 on dark day+memento). Now thats ineresting

Anywho (and this would take me a second if I could use my old, broken computer...but alas, my new one has not yet arrived) you have 287 sword skill for that setup at 75. I'm going to use the 75's standards because I don't know wtf they are for 80 and beyond.


287 skill--> 278 accuracy
Potency merits--> 10 accuracy
Accuracy bonus trait--> 10 accuracy
Taru BLU/NIN Base DEX @ 75--> 63 ---> 31 accuracy (rounding down)

(I'm going to ignore +DEX from spells, since that will vary a bit)

(Again, speaking from the perspective of 75 standards) Your accuracy seems fine. With Sushi, you're probably going to be capped on most things that you would be using the Big 3 on.

A lot of them are pretty terrible... 400 cluster also suck for the khanda's, I am just thinking about going halfway till we get more reliable info on them or to see how they branch out in the next update. Even if the amount needed is lowered lol, thats for the khanda's, ill probably just do the shamshir str one now though.

Actually, if you have another BLU friend on the flan trial, you can clear about 30 kills per firesday.
It's not that hard.... it's just slow, but not as boring as grinding EPs

Since I figure all fellow BLU are doing Sword trials, does anyone have advice for doing Trial 165(Sea Monks in Wind/Linghtning/Fire/Light)? The Grotto seems to never have lighting weather and Onzozo's monks are too low level most of the time.

Only the lowest level ones in Onzozo will check TW, kill them between wind weather pops and you'll have a decent supply of mobs. Dungeon timers slow you down more than anything else.

idk about your server, but, on phoenix, lots of JPs do that trial. Just go early in the morning, maybe you'll find a group doing it

iirc someone said that it was 15% slow, so filamented hold is still the strongest
